My tip, Read Jutta Rabe's book - Die Estonia 👍👍👍 You have to fight through the first 150 pages a bit, but then it gets more and more exciting, even if more exciting doesn't really fit, it's simply unbelievable...

Warum wurde nicht erstmal dieses Loch ausreichend dokumentiert? Genaue Lage, Kamerabilder etc. Allein damit hätte man den offiziellen Untersuchungsbericht doch schon anzweifeln können. Oder zumindest eine Erklärung von den Experten verlangen können, was dieses Loch ausgelöst hat, und was seine Auswirkungen auf den Untergang waren. Gleich an dem Loch herumzufuhrwerken (schweißen) hätte m.E. nicht sein müssen. Nun ist es nicht mehr "original". Anhand dieser kleinen Metallteile irgendwas beweisen zu wollen, noch dazu, wo das Metall rostschutzbehandelt war, halte ich für Wunschglaube. Man muss das Loch in seiner Gänze dokumentieren und untersuchen. Vor allem an der Innenseite müssten sich doch weitere Indizien finden lassen.

Ich würde das gerne glauben, aber trotzdem bleibt die gesamte Reportage eine Erklärung schuldig, von welchem Teil genau die Metall Proben stammen? (war der Teil unter Wasser, an der Luft?).
Es kam später heraus, dass die vermeintlichen "Sprengstoffspuren" von der Anti-Rost-Behandlung stammten. Dabei wird der Stahl abgeschliffen und danach mit spezieller Farbe bestrichen. Das untersuchende Labor hat den Fehler später selbst eingeräumt. Ihnen fehlten einige wichtige Informationen, u.a. dass die Proben von einem Schiffsrumpf stammten. Fahrlässig. Trotz dieses Patzers bleibt der Untergang der Estonia rätselhaft - vor allem, warum Tauchgänge verboten sein sollen, das Schiff mit Schutt und Zement bedeckt werden sollte und das Autodeck nie untersucht wurde. Auch das schnelle Sinken bleibt physikalisch nicht erklärbar - die Jan Heweliusz trieb 1993 nach ihrem Kentern noch am nächsten Morgen kieloben. Die Estonia versank innerhalb 1 1/2 Stunden. Diese Widersprüche könnte man aber untersuchen, ohne unnötiges "Drama" und Verschwörungen zu schüren. Ich wünsch mir mal eine echte, investigativ-journalistische Untersuchung des Falls.

The ferry lay on its side until the upper decks were filled with water, then she turned upside down and sank rather quickly, as the water tight compartments in the bottom were already breached and more or less filled with water. Instead of cutting samples from the ship they should have concentrate on taking many pictures on the hull. The documentary doesnt give a context where the hole is. It feels like they did two fast dives and that is not enough at all. I like the initiative though.
Could it be from gas tanks on a trailer or cars burning and start an explosion on a car deck? Was this hole on the level of a car deck? A placed bomb just doesn`t make any sense. The whole point in terrorism is to get attention and no terror groups have claimed responsibility for this. I might be wrong but I believe to remember there was a long dispute about who was responsible for the cost of bringing the ship to surface and they never agreed, concluding the ship should stay where it was.

Avo Pihts hustru Sirje Piht ifrågasätter hur den svenske besättningsmannen
så kort tid efter haveriet kunnat få reda på att det fanns två kaptener ombord
och drar slutsatsen att han måste ha fått uppgiften från Avo Piht själv.
Talrika ester har på TV-bilder sett en skärrad men räddad Avo Piht insvept i
en filt. Min klient Heikki Tann, som förlorade sin sambo Ingrid Idla i
katastrofen, uppger sig själv ha sett Avo Piht på TV och har tillsammans med
Estlines kapten Erich Moik vittnat om detta inför svenska Rapports reporter
Elisabet Höglund. Moik är också övertygad om att Avo Piht överlevt, eftersom
hans besättning sett Piht på tysk TV när Moik låg i Rostock på olycks-
morgonen. Moik förnekar därmed offentligt sin arbetsgivares påstående att
Avo Piht inte överlevt. Detta trots att Moik därmed riskerar sitt arbete. Tyvärr
har man fram till idag inte lyckats få fram några TV-bilder där Piht kan
identifieras. Statstelevisionens nyhetssändning Rapport valde att inte sända
Elisabet Höglunds intervjuer.
Den estniska polisen var så övertygad om att Piht överlevt att man utfärdade
en efterlysning via Interpool.
När tyska Spiegel TV besökte ZDFs TV-arkiv (en statlig TV-kanal i
Tyskland) för att leta rätt på de första filminspelningarna från räddnings-
aktionen, uttryckte arkivarien sin förvåning över att dessa bilder flera månader
efter olyckan plötsligt rönte ett så livligt intresse. När reportrarna från Spiegel
undrade om de inte var de första som genomsökte arkivet, meddelade
arkivarien att tyska säkerhetspolisen, BND, för en kort tid sedan varit i arkivet
och mycket noga granskat bilderna i jakt på bilder av Avo Piht.
Hösten 1996 erhöll jag ett mystiskt telefonsamtal från en tysk man. Han
ville vara anonym och bad mig framföra ett meddelande till Sirje Piht.
Meddelandet löd att hon inte skulle oroa sig och att hon skulle tänka mer
globalt. Mer vågade han inte säga. Han tillade att han själv utsatte sig för stor
fara genom att ringa mig men att han ville hjälpa Sirje Piht. Jag bad honom
förklara vad han menade och att han skulle ge mig någon form av garanti för
sin trovärdighet, vilket han vägrade.

The ferry lay on its side until the upper decks were filled with water, then she turned upside down and sank rather quickly, as the water tight compartments in the bottom were already breached and more or less filled with water. You have to call Chalmers and give them your theory though.

Instead of cutting samples from the ship they should have concentrate on taking many pictures on the hull. The documentary doesnt give a context where the hole is. It feels like they did two fast dives and that is not enough at all. I like the initiative though.

Could it be from gas tanks on a trailer or cars burning and start an explosion on a car deck? Was this hole on the level of a car deck? A placed bomb just doesn`t make any sense. The whole point in terrorism is to get attention and no terror groups have claimed responsibility for this. I might be wrong but I believe to remember there was a long dispute about who was responsible for the cost of bringing the ship to surface and they never agreed, concluding the ship should stay where it was.

Have you ever seen a movie where in the end it turned out there was no conspiracy and the government was nice and honest? Never. Because that's not what people wants. That said, I DO believe the government is covering this up big time. I don't think anybody sunk the ship deliberately because that would be a rediculously retarded thing to do. But I do think they are doing whatever they can to hide what was in that cargo.

In what sense would it be retarded, when the vessel has been proven by Swedish customs to have been used as a transport ship for the swedish military to smuggle soviet military hardware? The Swedish military is smuggling secret Soviet hardware on a civilian ship, likely handing it over to NATO, thinking the Soviets can't do shit to a civilian ship, which on top of it all belongs to a nation that recently left the USSR, and the Soviets want to show that they're not gonna stand for this bullshit anymore. It makes *perfect* sense. It also explains why the politicians don't want the boat salvaged, as then the responsible people would risk life in prison, and survivors and families would get millions in damage, for being used as human shields.
You obviously also think that whatever they did smuggle, that was so important, is actually left on the bottom of the sea. This makes no sense whatsoever, as Swedish salvage divers who were involved in the legal divings, witnessed the bow door going from almost completely closed, to later have been forced open, suggesting that designated divers had been in on the car deck, doing something, and this has been covered in interviews on Swedish web television which are available on YT right now. It's obvious they picked up whatever they needed picked up, and just don't want the wreck examined further, as there is a big hole under the waterline, shown and taken samples from by Jutta Rabes expedition some 10 years ago.
