The choreo was reminding me so much of Beyoncé and then I read one of her choreographers actually co-choreographed it! The Studio Choom performance shows it off so well. He said the mv isn't related to Kwangya at all though
We debated about the MV not being related to Kwangya in a group chat in it and while the album itself has no connection to it (or the SMCU), we’re not 100% on the MV not just being a fortunate circumstance where the whole SMCU creativity people and Key’s vision aligned. Because there’s a few things in it that have been seen in other SM videos (like the giant eye, the giant moon in the back ground). I think it has threads of SMCU, but relies more on Key’s on vision for it. I think those two things can be true.
Thank you for sharing. I had to look it up -- Kany choreographed Bey's "Power" vid! In retrospect that totally makes sense. Beyonce just hits these powerful moves then accents with fem touches. Key has that same duality here. Love it.
looking at how the music producers, the special effects team, dancers, lighting, and choreographers were all so excited for this release, it must have been such a passion project! and Key is in Keyland not kwangya haha
in the countdown video, he mentioned his solo stuff has nothing to do with kwangya. also yes it has invu vibes mv vibes & both mvs are by the same director. The choreographer of the song is the same one that did some Beyonce choreos most notably "my power" one, she is a shawol too which is amazing honestly
I was floored. Key really did it all ! The song is addicting, the looks and the sceneries are iconic and loooooord… do not talk to me about the choreo🤩 he looked so regal in it, truly one of the best soloist out there !
When you said that this gives you Lil Nas X vibes I thought the same thing when I watched it!!! KEY freaking killed all the looks in this MC and I can't wait for the live stages 💜💜💜
Key just blows you away every single time. That beat and bass...🔥🔥❤️ He gives you exactly what you needed but didn't know..🤣..SM need to kept letting him do his own thing and follow his own vision. He's an artist in every sense of the word. I can't believe anyone watched this without say wow or wtf at least once. The song was created by Key and the all amazing Kenzie. SHINee what can you say? ..They're all just kpop superheroes. Back in play for just 2 years and they give us magic every f*** time..That's not even counting Taemin bringing SHiNee in the world spotlight again and again with his solos.
Key said… I got it for the artists while you’re gone Taemin…. He ate this up, left not a single crumb: and look wise, sound wise, vibe wise. Killed it!
When I first heard those horns I also thought of Nas X, they even sound like a similar pattern but I do love it. This release has been on repeat since yesterday for me. I loved it. Also the fashion and this persona, he looks like a superstar. It’s obvious that he is aiming to be a different kind of male artist, very much in line and inspired by the eccentric ones of our past like Jackson and Bowie and Prince and Mercury and I love it. We need male performers like that again, somebody that is not afraid to play with boundaries to create art. I am glad he has other references than Justin Bieber unlike 99.9% of the male kpop industry. This was a statement.
That’s why he is Master Key 🔑 MV his vocals visuals everything is ChefsKiss 🔥🔥‼️ so proud of Bummie 🤗🤗 the album is 🔥🔥Proud is one of my favorites also Mica make sure you check out his studio Chum you can see the whole routine 🔥
Bad Love was one of my favourite albums and I thought "Can he surpass this" but Key never disappoints. The production quality is insane and now im curious about his next album
he is like the beyonce of kpop rn...also, idk if you've listened to the rest of the album, but Jeno was featured in Villain and i personally really liked it, its simple but effective and their voices go really well together!
He was giving me male CL vibes if that makes sense. I love this for him, this is the type of song though that I would want to watch the video with it, because I like it more as a experience or total package!
This is what we call “Bad B1tch”😝 Key just gives me baddie vibez and im here for it👏🏾 Also this gives my very much HBCU marching band😁 The choreo gives me Beyoncé vibes also😊 4:37 i thought i was the only one who heard Cherry Bomb😅
the intro always hits UGH 💕💕💕 this is also not what I was expecting from this comeback---I thought he would maybe do sth similar to Bad Love but I think this is super interesting!! It might not go on my everyday playlist but curious what the rest of the album sounds like. Your comment about the Lil Nas similarity had me hearing the song so differently!! Hope to see your reaction of the rest of the album 😍
I think the fancams of keys performance of gasoline in smtown are the best to see the chereo and stage presents are just so mesmerizing! I just could not look away
This reminds me of Lil Nas X too // a monumental performance // Gorgeous fashion and the song is really rich and exciting // I could watch this over and over -- Key really poured on the fuel and ignited it. Bravo
A song that condenses and packs what KEY thinks is "the hottest for me" right now. I can't stop loving KEY because I like his attitude of "doing everything I want to do". However, this song doesn't have a clear theme like the previous "80s", and it's difficult to categorize it as it has a "???" genre. In fact, when I try to put it in a playlist, I get lost, "Which list should I put it in?" Is it just for "exercise"?
IM HERE THE VID'S AT 0 VIEWS AND 0 COMMENTS WOW edit: i think i worded that weirdly lol i was just excited at being first. key is INSANE!!!! he also released a studio choom vid, you should check that out!! one of THE greatest most underrated dancers in kpop
If there's one thing I would state is shinee and it's members are it, there so versatile as artist, as a group and as soloist. there main vocalists can dance just as well as there main dancer, Shinee is basically like a hybrid monster group where all the members can do EVERYTHING and I mean everything. A good place to start is there debut Replay which is considered the best debut song for a K-pop group as it has the basics of dancing and singing. In regards to key(his my bias) he is an all rounder he is lead dancer, lead rapper and lead vocalist. The main vocalist of the group are jonghyun and onew, both possessing different types of vocies where jonghyun feels like his range is unlimited and onew has the best power vocals of any main male vocalist. Taemin is the main dancer and considered one of the best if not the best male dancers in the whole of kpop. Then theres Minho who is a visual like no other his the lead rapper and basically hard carries the main rap parts in majority of the songs, he also posses a very low to mid range for a rapper and he is a very very well known actor. Shinee is known for there knife like choreography and have basically transformed K-pop choreographys by taking dancing more seriously.
I hope you react to the Studio Choom performance soon. And yess it does sound like Lil Nas with the horns. If he does a remix with Lil Nas I'll lose my damn mind lol😆 thank you for this reaction.
Oooh, I bet your right about them using Lil Nas X as atleast inspo for the looks.... I did love last comeback more, just more my taste. It's aight tho, the lyrics to Gasoline are so so but after a couple listens I'll be into it ;) I'm glad everyone else likes it tho, I want every Shinee member to do well
I seriously don’t see the lil nas x comparison, the only thing both songs have is brass but that’s about it. The song itself is very southern u.s early 2000’ era and the maximalist mv concept has been done since for so long since 90’s and even before it so I’m confused by these comparisons Anyway I like the song and the mv and I liked the b-sides even more. Another no skip album from him
Don’t know how many comparisons you’ve seen but if many people feel the same then there may be something to it. A lot of KPOP fans have issues with comparisons, which is a pet peeve of mine. This was my first impression and I hadn’t seen anyone mentioning the comparison so it must come from somewhere. Lil Nas X also references the 00’s like most gen z artists do these days lol so the comparison would still make sense.
Love the MV, but I still struggle with the song or the album in general. I still didn't make it through the whole album, because it just doesn't catch me. It's honestly SO frustrating! Aaaaaaah, I hope it'll grow on me at some point -.-

Key never been in KWANGYA, it's KEYLAND!!
The choreo was reminding me so much of Beyoncé and then I read one of her choreographers actually co-choreographed it! The Studio Choom performance shows it off so well. He said the mv isn't related to Kwangya at all though
omg I wanting to say it's giving Beyoncé vibes but did not want to get crucified lmaoooo
I'm pretty sure that Key made sure that SHINee is not going to be part of that Kwangya bs.
We debated about the MV not being related to Kwangya in a group chat in it and while the album itself has no connection to it (or the SMCU), we’re not 100% on the MV not just being a fortunate circumstance where the whole SMCU creativity people and Key’s vision aligned. I am so excited for the future journey of the SHINee members...it seems to show why SHINee is a legend one by one~
he showed us a miracle ... there he is
Shawols: Soooo, how many crowns King?
King Kibum: YES! 👑🔥

THE FASHION, THE LOOKS, THE ELEGANCE, THE FEMININE VIBES, THE FACE, THE DANCE -- KEY IS THE BEST!
as far as his range here, it reminds me of what his role was in early shinee
*LEGEND*

what is kwangya?? is it like the sm sound?

You can check out the Studio Choom choreo!!!
He was giving me male CL vibes if that makes sense. I love this for him, this is the type of song though that I would want to watch the video with it, because I like it more as a experience or total package!
It was giving me Lil Nas X vibes as well and it was def because of the horns. Specifically INDUSTRY BABY 🔥

It’s definitely my favourite intro so far thank you ha! Yeah it’s not my favourite title of his but still impressive nonetheless.
Love your reactions, and KEY always deliver !
by the way, the song doesn't have 2nd chours, after the second verse it goes to the bridge. it's interesting
If any kpop mv can give competition to Lil Nas mvs then this is the one.
haha i'm still in shock!! digesting the a thousand details in the production, visuals, sounds, concept.. everything!!

i immediately thought lil nas too!!!
It actually sounds and feels almost like song SuperM would do. That said, it’s really well done.
