Ever since I heard that people are looking to rebuild their childhood computers I’ve been looking for vintage computers like a mad man. GREAT FIND!!
Awhile back I bought a DVD/VCR recorder combo open box new for 20 bucks at a local flea market. It was in pristine condition, had all the inserts, remote still in original plastic. I take it home and since its open box I decided to test it out. VHS player does not work. You pop a VHS tape in there and it starts to play, then the whole unit powers down. Man I was so bummed. But I said, you know what, no, I will not allow this to happen. So I went on youtube and searched for a potential solution to the problem. I came across this video with like hardly any views and they mentioned the head being stuck. So I opened the combo unit, saw the VHS head and I gently tried to move it and it wouldnt budge. I played with it for a minute gently moving it back and fourth and then all of a sudden, it started to move smoothly. I then turned it on and put a VHS tape in there and the head spun right up, read the tape and it played great. All the functions worked on the unit. I tested it for almost a week trying to get it to not work in different situations. It worked like a champ. Sold it for over $600. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share a time where I got my hands dirty and it worked. Last night I bought a PS2 fat console and it wont read discs. I looked up how to replace the laser and cant wait to try that next.
Yeah I’ll put that effort in for a $600 for sure but not a $50 unit haha. That old technology is so touchy. I’ve had units not work, then after a quick pound with the fist, they worked lol. So weird.

OMG That power mac, I been looking for ages for one in the wild. Several months ago I bought a bunch of 5.25 floppy diskettes from a retired teacher. They are all the genuine video games we used to play in school growing up. Oregon Trails, Math Munchers, Pac-Man etc. Again, they are all legit games, not games copied onto the diskette. But I have been needing an old Mac to play them on...
My boyfriend and I found an apple II computer, monitor and a bunch of games and software. Got it for an absolute steal at $40. Have made tons of money and still have a game listed for $500. That stuff is so cool to me it was awesome to be able to test it all out. Great finds! Love your videos!!

late 80s apple computers and accessories are my absolute fave
sold two monitors both within hours of listing that stuff is so money
external floppy drives are nuts too sold a double drive untested for 275 same day as listing
What's crazy is I've filled dumpsters with those old computers and electronics. There was a point when that stuff was worthless. Hindsight is often like looking at an ass in the mirror, LOL. Good scores dude! Subscribed! :)

@@peehandshihtzu I already know. I moved 4 states away from where I lived my whole life and I had a room and a couple closets worth of that stuff and didn’t bring one of the items and they got dumped on heavy trash day 😆. So sad to think of now lol.

I’m at the same point. I went 20 something in a row with them not working at all or one side working and I couldn’t get much back for them and they take forever to sell for parts so I’ll pass unless they’re worth $200 or more.

I picked up a similar computer off the curb. I pictured it in the back of my car, threw on FB MARKETPLACE for $200 and sold in minutes. A father daughter duo bought it to disassemble and reassemble. They didn't care if it worked. I kept thinking I missed something but I looked it all up and decided $200 as is was fair. I was a little surprised by the quick sale.
