Hi sir I'm from Mumbai and Vellore border area my village and i planted 2 acre red sandal wood, and i have doubt why red sandal wood not growing other country and if they plant china what will happen and only pertains to South.
Mr Ganesan you are talking more about Red Sanders but without knowing the ground reality . The present rate per kg is Rs 600 to 1000 and whereas root is priced at Rs 300 and buyers are not interested in buying wood logs weing less than 30kg. Any RS tree aged beyond 40 years is sure bet for getting yield of 250 to 300 kg including root weight. Selling in India itself is too difficult then where is the question of getting export order ? I am a person owning 7000 Red sanders tree aged 14 years and had hands on experience of getting cutting order from the Forest Dept and I cut down 13 (54year) + 45 (34 year age ) Thiruvallore / Vellore and I know the practical difficulties . Mr Ganesan stop self boosting and guide the innocent Farmers after getting hands on experience in selling the cut logs in the open market. I am in search of a buyer for the past 2 year but of no use ? My sincere advice to the farmers DO NOT GO FOR RED SANDERS CULTIVATION.
