I knew immediately that I loved SiteGround because my load times dropped (improved) significantly after migrating. But coming here and watching this makes me feel way better about my choice.
Awesome! Ya, they were rated #1 in the WP Hosting Facebook Group and their name is dropped often in other FB Groups too. Glad you're happy with them :)
Hey dude.... Many thanks!! I have just used 90% of the stuff you explained above and have increased desktop from 74/100 to 93/100.. I still have some mobile loading issues but have contacted the dude you introduced on Freelancer... Great stuff.
I like your style bro.......the process was well explained.......I recently switched to amazon for hosting but heard great things about Siteground.... 2 thumbs up.....you got a new fan........Great video, by the way
Thanks man, took me 4 days to make this learning some video editing. Glad you like it, yes SiteGround is legit and has good reviews in the WP community. More SEO vids to come.
Listen man I have been beating my head up against my desk trying to work on speeding up our company website. Some of this I had tried using different plugins or methods. Following your steps though was a huge help. I had never heard of the p3 plugin. That alone was a huge help. I knew some plugins were killing us just couldn't isolate which ones. thanks again.
You got it :) gonna be doing another one soon to include WP Disable for turning off unused WordPress settings, CAOS plugin for hosting GA tracking code on local server, more emphasis on Cloudflare settings (speed/caching tab plus hotlink protection and whitelisting IPs), high CPU plugins to avoid, lots more...
The plugin performance plugin sounds very cool. By the way, another tip is to get a hosting with HTTP2 support and switch to HTTPS to use HTTP2 benefits.
It may be that this p3 plugin helped at 2016, but now (2019) the pluging info box says that it is last updated 4 years ago, so i think it is not worth any more.
I have 22 plugins installed and my pie graph (2:00) is showing me only one plugin which is P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler). Plus, this plugin was Last Updated: 5 years ago
Hmm...results on the site of mine I tested say the slowest plug in is P3 Plugin Profiler...site loads in under half a second...But on several other sites of mine, this info was extremely helpful..Thank you.
Wowww that is good stuff Allan, sorry about the late response, it looks like you're on a roll though. Been using a guy name i333 from Freelancer and he is also awesome at WordPress speed - both guys are. Let me know if you need help!
hahaha gotta say you're stuff is amazing man. learned a lot and have applied it to the site. I guess I have to start creeping your blog some more then! hahaha but id love to get these step by step videos. they make life super easy.
This is like the 3rd or 4th video I've seen tonight on WordPress Performance where the publisher is using WP Fastest Cache over W3 Total Cache. What's your take, is it because of the simplicity over W3TC? By the way, great video!!!
Thanks a lot for the video dude. I like the way you explain things which is more down to earth. Anyways a few questions. I see that you explain how to use Cloudflare as a CDN on SiteGround at minute 4 and then jump to explaining about using MaxCDN on minute 5:45, so I wanted to know whether or not you are suggesting we use both CDNs (Cloudflare and MaxCDN) or just one of the CDNs? I am using SiteGround and Cloudflare at the moment by the way. Also wondering what your thoughts are on the following: Revolution Slider is a resource intensive slider plugin and I bet it even uses more resources when serving up videos such as MP4 videos right? So what I wanted to know was whether or not I would see site and slider plugin speed increases if instead of uploading my MP4 video and self hosting it on Revolution Slider through WordPress I would instead just load the MP4 video on my RUclips account as a private video and then provide the RUclips private video link via pasting it on the Revolution Slider plugin?
Hey buddy, 1st off: thanks mate, this is awesome stuff you're sharing with us here, that and the W3TC + CDN + Cloudflare tutorial are real helpful. I've been using some of this stuff, but you just make all sound easier! ;) And this plugin, just takes the hassle out of sorting plugins, just what I was looking for! One question though: how do you handle sub-domains in cloudflare? Do have do manually add them through the DNS screen (or hosting account/control panel if it integrates cloudflare)? How about page rules? Should you add page rules for subdomains too? (like "*.mysite.com/*" for the homepage rule)? Thanks for your help! :)
Anytime! This was my first video using this style but I will be creating more. Affiliate links pay the bills and allow me to create these videos so hope you don't mind - I only do it for products/services I have researched, tested, and currently use myself.
i do the same thing brother, but its not obtrusive to the point where your content suffers, so I was impressed to how you snuck it in there, keep it up! Looking forward to learning more :)
Just watched this. Signed up with Siteground. Ex WP-Engine user. Siteground offers CDN. Do you still recommend to order the one you are talking about here? Same with Catching, they offer super cache option as well. Is that no good? Thanks.
I don't understand the serve scaled images thing... when I put manually the dimensions that gmetrix is showing me the image becomes very ugly and unaligned...?!
Hi, Thanks for this great step-by-step video, one question I'm with SightGround (what choice was certainly worth the research!) and wondered if there was any particular reason you opted for WPfastest cache over Supercacher as that's already on the cpanel
Hey Rebecca, Glad you're happy with SiteGround! Right now I use a cache plugin (WP Rocket) on top of SiteGround's SG Optimizer. Works great - WP Fastest Cache is also good.
Cheers for the speedy reply Tom. I'm an optimising roll now... your comments on light weight themes have been reverberating around my head since first watching this video yesterday. I currently using X theme by theme, but its proving prohibitive in increasing php, so I can implement SG Optimiser etc I've looked at Studio Press but am keen to know your thoughts on Generate Press. Can I also check that for the plugins you use here, such as P3 - Plugin Performance Profiler, image minify etc, they can all be deactivated once used and just the essentials to keep active are CDN, cache and optimisers. Cheers, Rebecca
I've never use Generate Press... I know it's pretty popular but I know for certain most of the "serious WordPress people" use Genesis Framework... if you join Facebook Groups like Advanced WordPress, etc... you will see most of them use StudioPress/Genesis. P3 hasn't been updated for a long time - you're better off using GTmetrix and expanding items to see which plugins show up in your report, specifically in the GTmetrix Waterfall tab. But yes, you can delete Imagify and other plugins you don't use when you're done - however Imagify has a setting to automatically optimized images once uploaded which is nice...and it should really not affect your load time at all. I just keep it installed. Have you read through my WordPress speed guide? I need to update this video as it's a little older - and I have some new strategies which may help www.onlinemediamasters.com/why-is-wordpress-so-slow/
Warning: P3 plugin is too outdated to be usable... I've just installed it and it screwed up my site... took almost an hour to make it back again. So if you wanna check performance of your plugin, use Query Monitor instead!
Great stuff, man. I use most of plugin you recommened, right now the website is faster than before. Iwas using the wpengine hosting, I think is time to change the host, because the wpengine is limit install and expensive. : (
What are you going to give? lol I followed everything you did and my page is still slow at 8 seconds. I currently use BlueHost. I don't know how big of a difference that would make to switch.
I have 22 plugins installed and my pie graph (2:00) is showing me one plugin which is P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler). Plus, this plugin was Last Updated: 5 years ago
Alternative: run your site through GTmetrix and expend the items. If you see a plugin is causing your items to be red, it's an indicator. Also check the timeline section of GTmetrix. Anytime glad you liked it!
W3 Total Cache, here's the guide to configuring it www.onlinemediamasters.com/w3-total-cache-settings/ - the plugin developer updated it 4 days ago (Nov. 31) and I literally just updated it to correspond with the new settings
Hey Tom, I'm on siteground's go-geek hosting and have both Cloudflare and SiteGround's "SG Super Cacher." Would there be an advantage to switching (or adding) W3Total Cache? Or would it just confuse things?
More locations to host your site and offloads even more resources to data centers. Most people don't need 2, but it will help even more if you're serious about speed.
a video on how to use css sprites would be awesome. and for image optimisation you can use optimus.io paid plugin. Its a good one. I am using that for image optimisation.
I hired a guy out of California who got me to the 1st page of Google Maps & Google organic search. His name is Jason and his email is hungryandhumble83@gmail.com.

Ohh WOW just awesome you provide some unique things than other youtubers. But I have a question, how can I speed up a website on mobile without using an AMP? I newly created an account on Fiverr and provide services about WordPress I'm also new to WordPress. Non-Techie person. I want to provide speed up website service to Fiverr Buyers but when I do all the stuff (minifying, cache, image compressing, bla bla bla) and scan website through Google Page Speed Tool, they show an almost 90+ speed of website on PC but it gives me 70 score on mobile. I spend my whole day to find out the solution of this problem because if buyer give me nagetive review on my GIG so it creates nagetive impect to my whole profile.
The solution is to not use Google Page Speed Insights, there are many articles that say why this is not the best speed testing tool (GTmetrix and Pingdom are) as Google Page Speed doesn't even measure load time. It's gotten enough public criticism where you can explain to customers that it's not a great tool. WP Rocket and WP Fastest Cache have a "mobile cache" option which should help. And optimizing images, Cloudflare CDN, plugin optimization, etc to make your desktop site load faster should also make the mobile site load faster. But without AMP or changing the design/code of mobile site, there's little you can do for mobile speed. You should let them know ahead of time that "load time" is the primary metric which should be improved :)
Yes he raised his price. I have also been working with another guy (username is i333), his name is Usama. He is also very good but is only a little less than Pronaya ($33/hour). The higher quality freelancers will inevitability start charging more but I can vouch for both them.
Hey Aaron, I'm $75/hour but my developer listed in the video is $25/hour, his email is bdkamol@gmail.com. And he has more experience optimizing WordPress sites than me.
Who are you referring to? All content is original and is an abbreviated version of my WordPess speed blog tutorial www.onlinemediamasters.com/why-is-wordpress-so-slow/
I see 4.4s right now in GTmetrix - Cloudflare takes up to 72 hours to propagate so that may be it but did you use WP Fastest Cache or W3 Total Cache? If one doesn't work well you may want to try configuring the other cache plugin to see how each one affects your load times. Some websites get better results with different caching plugins.
im using cloudflare for about three days with siteground now, I have a plus account for the ssl. Im using WP Fastest Cache. I used to have it integrated with maxcdn, but it seems to be crashing my site when i have it like that i dont know why. The guys at siteground say it may have something to with my ssl certificate.
Try using W3 Total Cache instead, WP Fastest Cache doesn't always work well with some sites: www.onlinemediamasters.com/w3-total-cache-settings/ Also see this tutorial: www.maxcdn.com/one/tutorial/how-to-use-cdn-with-cloudflare/ ...in MaxCDN make sure you enable "strip all cookies" in the Edge settings. You would use 2 CDNs because I don't believe CloudFlare hosts images while MaxCDN does, which is a heavy part of your site. From my experience the 2 together get the best results and it's what my developer and I always use to get the fastest load time. Most sites we optimize to load in under 1s use both.
The video was very helpful. However I did not subscribe because your use of bad words offends me. You would appeal to a much wider audience if you did not use foul language in your videos. Like I said your video was very well put together and very helpful.
Thanks Joshua, glad you found it helpful. Poop is harmless, we all do it. I don't understand why it's a swear. But I'm sorry to hear you didn't subscribe because of it :/
elevatingwp.com/ is far away from 0.5 load times. Check it yourself via Pagespeed Insights and Webpagetest. Not worth the time I spent to watch this. Really cool looks better.
Pagespeed Insights doesn't show a load time, read glueckpress.com/8117/fuck-pagespeed/ which has profanity, but even WP Rocket refers to this article countless times. Never used Webpagetest but GTmetrix recently changed to a fully load time so now everyone's load time is longer. Still, I have about a 1s load time in GTmetrix/Pingdom for my main website (onlinemediamasters.com) and I decided not to pursue elevatingwp.com but rather use my main website... software hasn't been updated for a looong time and so forth. Regardless, the tips I share in the video work.
Yeah, I was also going to mention, not every site can load for 0.5 seconds. More appropriate title would be, how I got my website to load for 0.5 sec. Anyway...
Here's an updated video for 2021: ruclips.net/video/0eBeb9Hi_hs/видео.html

I've been with a lot of hosts & agree siteground are the best.
Hi Tom! One question. Are you using Genesis theme for some special reason? Anyway you made fantastic job both here and on your website. Thumb up!

nice one, i was also able to link Cloudflare cdn with the supercache plugin all free, all free, no need for paid plans..

Awesome tutorial. it works. thanks a lot. Please make a video on Webp images and also how to convert all images to webp in wordpress. Thanks again

worked like magic
P3 plugin completely broken bro. Need update or alternative suggestion. Thanks a lot for the video.
Alternative: run your site through GTmetrix and expend the items. If you see a plugin is causing your items to be red, it's an indicator. Also check the timeline section of GTmetrix. Anytime glad you liked it!
Is there any reason one should have MaxCDN and CloudFlare together for a website?
Hi, do you have any recommendations for CSS Sprites? Is there an easier way to create Sprites? I've only found somewhat complicated ways to do it.
Check out www.npmjs.com/package/sprity
I appreciate the link, but a bit too involved for my time commitment. I do use SpriteMe, but wasn't sure if there's an easier way.
I noticed that you have WP Fastest cache and not W3 Total on that particular WP dashboard. Which one do you really recommend?
W3 Total Cache, here's the guide to configuring it www.onlinemediamasters.com/w3-total-cache-settings/ - the plugin developer updated it 4 days ago (Nov. 31) and I literally just updated it to correspond with the new settings
Hey Tom, I'm on siteground's go-geek hosting and have both Cloudflare and SiteGround's "SG Super Cacher." Would there be an advantage to switching (or adding) W3Total Cache? Or would it just confuse things?
One thing puzzled me. After installing Cloudflare you also installed MaxCDN. I thought Cloudflare was a CDN? Why use 2?
More locations to host your site and offloads even more resources to data centers. Most people don't need 2, but it will help even more if you're serious about speed.
How do you reduce the size of images on an Amazon affiliate site?
a video on how to use css sprites would be awesome. and for image optimisation you can use optimus.io paid plugin. Its a good one. I am using that for image optimisation.
Hi Elevating WP, who would you recommend for helping us improve our google ranking on freelancer? Cheers and great video
I hired a guy out of California who got me to the 1st page of Google Maps & Google organic search. His name is Jason and his email is hungryandhumble83@gmail.com.

Nice , How can I get API
Goodness...liked subscribed ... wow
super. thankyou
Must watch video, Love the way he explained in detail. The guy you are recommending, please put his email or contact info. Thanks
His email is bdkamol@gmail.com - he's gotten quite a lot of emails so in case anyone else is contacting him too, please make sure it's a serious inquiry :)
hahahaha....such a great video with very high value content
Ohh WOW just awesome you provide some unique things than other youtubers. But I have a question, how can I speed up a website on mobile without using an AMP?
I newly created an account on Fiverr and provide services about WordPress I'm also new to WordPress. Non-Techie person. I want to provide speed up website service to Fiverr Buyers but when I do all the stuff (minifying, cache, image compressing, bla bla bla) and scan website through Google Page Speed Tool, they show an almost 90+ speed of website on PC but it gives me 70 score on mobile. THANK YOU !!!
How do I setup WP Optimize for ecommerce store. Great Video! Thanks.
There shouldn't be any difference since it just deletes trash, post revisions, spam, etc.
this video is entirely aspired by sponsorship lol
Does bdkamol still work?
What about domain provider? Does it impacts somehow on speed?
Nope, domain provider doesn't impact it, only hosting.
Thanks !!!!!!
thanks for the infomercial
Lol you got it, saved it for the end. But it's valid.
I checked the guy you recommended at freelancer . . he is charges $40/ hours now
Yes he raised his price. I have also been working with another guy (username is i333), his name is Usama. He is also very good but is only a little less than Pronaya ($33/hour). The higher quality freelancers will inevitability start charging more but I can vouch for both them.
How many hours do they take to do their job?
Can you optimize one of my sites for me? What do you charge?
Hey Aaron, I'm $75/hour but my developer listed in the video is $25/hour, his email is bdkamol@gmail.com. And he has more experience optimizing WordPress sites than me.

Still, I have about a 1s load time in GTmetrix/Pingdom for my main website (onlinemediamasters.com) and I decided not to pursue elevatingwp.com but rather use my main website... software hasn't been updated for a looong time and so forth. Regardless, the tips I share in the video work.
Nice clickbait
Yeah, I was also going to mention, not every site can load for 0.5 seconds. More appropriate title would be, how I got my website to load for 0.5 sec. Anyway...
I honestly didn't mean to clickbait or be misleading so I took your suggestion and changed the title to "I"... thanks for pointing that out.
Cool, thanks.
Great video! Thanks
