His voice is so unique that one critic once described it as though "it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside & run over with a car"! I think youre missing the point but music is subjective. This song is about, for me, hitting hard as life does but offers a break for when life goes good again. Its always hard to soft, when at the end, we always fade out to black.
