Hi Shad, My oldest grandson is named Shad too. I don’t often see your name. It’s always good to see how to do something the right way, rather than blindly go into it and mess it up. Thanks for the video. Very clear and helpful information that minimizes mistakes. Well done. I’m starting a new lap string project soon and I hope to use your benders.
Thank you for the helpful Video. Thus my Installation worked without any problem om a Telecaster. At 7:40 it is important to know, that the position of the screw should be optimized centered in the long whole, i.e. not at the string sinde, really in the centre. I understood during the installation.
I like your design and great price for a quality bender. I will be ordering on or more soon. Several lapsteel guitars and telecasters in my collection. I have the hipshot on one telecaster and never liked the rod for a body activated bender.
I'm interested in purchasing one for a Telecaster. How is the travel of the lever adjusted when pressed down? Is it by the Allen head bolt at the rear?
No, it won't. I make two bender sizes, a full size and a shorter variant. The shorty will fit on an sx steel no problem, but I only make those in two string and three string variants. The 4 string requires a larger shaft for extra rigidity which necessitates it be made with the larger frame and unfortunately the larger frame does not fit on the sx steels.
Shad, Is the main different between Short bender 175213698697 And Std bender. 174910241740 The mounting base size? Does the larger base bender provide better support for the bender assembly? Are the paddles about the same length ? I bought your string set looks great. Thanks Shad LarryB
Very much enjoying my Peters G/B bender, purchased last summer, after comparing with other string-pullers out there. The FOUR anchors screws sold me on yours over a similar French device. This bender works wonderfully, and I like the 1/2 tone + whole-tone options on the two strings. My tech also installed two tiny brass tubes behind my Telecaster bridge saddles, replacing the springs, which lock-in the correct spacing for intonation. I bent the G paddle in a vise a wee bit to get it further from the strings. I have been recommending this product to my Tele-friends. Well made! I made this little video to get the good word out: ruclips.net/video/JZbIINhAJxQ/видео.html
Hello Shad, I purchased your double palm bender for flat top/electric guitar and I damaged one of the brass threaded inserts that the pitch adjustment screws into. I would like to purchase two of the brass inserts from you. I contacted you via eBay but have yet to hear from you. Hope you see this. Thank you, -Jim
sure, you can check out all the different versions I make here: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dmd=2&_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_ssn=midwest_lumber&store_cat=0&store_name=midwestlumber&_oac=1&_nkw=bender
Hello, just discovered your bender. I’m a lefty but I don’t think that’s an issue. Are you aware of any installations on an SK 6-string lap steel (Rondo Music)? The fine gentlemen from France that makes benders has a nice product, but the screw alignment interferes with the metal inserts on the underside where the legs are attached. Thanks in advance.
Yes, it should work with a 13/32 spacing just fine. In general string spacing is not a major concern on these. Typical guitar string spacing is somewhere between 2.125 and and 2.05 inches. When you break that down you are only talking about at most 15 thousandth of an inch difference in the spacing string to string between most bridges out there. That small amount is not enough to cause problems.
@@PetersInstruments do i need to buy a different bridge to use the benders? The bridge on my gretsch just looks like a wedge with groove notches that the string-thru rests on. My thoughts are benders might would catch on the existing bridge. What are your thoughts or suggestions? Im definitely gonna buy a B and G bender. I just am unsure on my bridge
@@scootmcgoot570 No you don't need to buy another bridge. Technically speaking roller bridges are probably the best type to have, so you might want to put one on down the road, but I've never found that to be a necessity.
Transfer punch, not center punch. You really need to demonstrate how this works/sounds. I also would like to see it installed on a Telecaster and hear that. Looks like a good product, especially without a lot of linkage to go wrong and figure out, not to mention no need to mill out the back of the guitar.
they string through the bender like you would string through guitar body or something. you can see here: reverb.com/item/20306384-peters-art-deco-palm-lever-lap-steel-pedal-steel-sound-like-the-multibender-handmade-guitar
sure will. You just need to have the right kind of bridge on it. Traditional three barrel, or if you want a modern bridge something like the hipshot bridge that will allow the strings to pass through the tail end of the bridge plate.
I'd be glad to produce a couple of videos demonstrating it on a tele. Send me the b and g bender and I'll install and make that happen. We can chat private. My performing videos have close to 100k views.
The concept seems ok, but you have missed out a lot of detail on exactly how it works and what the palm levers look like. Also, how is it tuned in the un-depressed position? How does the string connect etc? For nearly 14 minutes of viewing, you have waffled on far to much with not enough detail or action. Why would anyone want to buy this product when you have not shown a demo of the final product in action or even the cost? Thumbs down mate!! Then again, waste of time commenting when you haven't answered any comments....
This is an installation video, like the title says, not a product demo. I made it to help people who have already purchased the benders get them installed correctly, not to showcase the benders in action. Bro can someone put up a product demo? I can't see this in action anywhere and no forums mention it
Will these install on a Recording King lapsteel
Just ordered the 3 string bender for my lap steel. Will do an update after installation if that's cool
Great installation video. Thank you.

Love to see/hear it in action. Any links?
I don't have any clips right now, hoping to put something together before to long.
Hey do you have any product demos to see them played before purchasing?
Hello, enjoyed this. Wanted to ask if you think it’s possible to install a Peters 4 String Pitch Witch G/B-bender on an SX lap steel?
No, it won't. I make two bender sizes, a full size and a shorter variant. The shorty will fit on an sx steel no problem, but I only make those in two string and three string variants. the levers are the same length on both, the main difference is just aesthetics, the function the same.

not familiar with an sk lap steel, are you by chance meaning the sx steels?
@@PetersInstruments Very sorry. Yes I meant SX. Typed my note before my morning coffee.

What's the range of string spacings this will work for? Would this work for 13/32" spacing?

Im getting a gretsch g5715. Will your benders work on it too?
The short version should work. As far as I can tell the 5715 looks pretty much identical to the 5700 and I know the shorty will work on the 5700
