I can imagine how ticked off you must have been to spend all that time making a kilt, and then when you put it on, you just didn't like the way it looked on you. At least you were able to sell it. I spent a huge amount of time designing my own tartan, and then the kiltmaker spent another huge amount of time making sure that the colors were exactly what I wanted. I was sending thread samples to Scotland left and right. But in the end it was all worth it, because the fabric was awesome and the kilt fit perfectly.
I love purple and think I can totally rock a purple tartan. I've ordered a wool hybrid with a Pride of Scotland (purple) tartan that peeks out of the pleats. My next kilt after that will probably be a full tartan in a darker purple than the Pride of Scotland
Ive just bought your purple Scottish National tartan and i love it so much. I've worn it every weekend hiking and camping since i got it. Great job best kilt i could hope for for hiking
The purple kilt wasn't meant for you, you made it for that other guy you just didn't know it at the time. There's a reason hose and trews were cut on the bias, it stretches. Mac is young he has time to finish those kilts.
Just so you know Purple is the color for Epilepsy and Colon Cancer. So having a purple kilt isn't really a bad idea after all if you think of it that way. Just thought you would want to know.
I really have to say...I took my friend to your shop for a kilt.....he wanted a purple kilt. I know he was that customer.
He loved it regardless.
The "Well THAT didn't work like I thought it would" is endemic and pervasive in any activity which you pursue with passion.

I'm experimenting with kilt making

Omg you don't throw out fabric! You just repurpose it! A pillow a tote bag a flat cap hat, my Scottish heart just hurts thinking about the waste!
Purple kilt is the national Scottish kilt. I own one. It is beautiful . I also own a Lamont kilt.
Well this is wierd. I had no idea this tartan existed...My baby girl's name is Skye and My favorite color is green, my wife's is purple....LOL
It's the perfect tartan for you then!
It’s a great Tartan!
SABLE: oh, man can I relate. Though in my case, it's books.
What is Mac wearing here? I love it but can't seem to find it or recall seeing it before.
MacMichael Muted (it was a special weave)
Thanks for asking - I had the same question! A lovely and unusual tartan.
If it ever becomes available again I'd love to check it out. Would be the first tartan I'd go off family (Shaw) for.
cot3372 Hey Shaw cousin! G-granda is a Shaw!

What's a kilt cost, average .... sadly the tartans sold by yardage and a kilt is a bit more than half so I understand theres alot of "waste" material
There needs to be a Bernie Parent Tartan...just say'n.
I'm from Skye. I'm macaskill. You have no right
