I just had the nevro hfx temp put in two days ago. I feel like I have my life back. I dont get out of bed in excruciating pain any more. I can stand/walk without being hunched over. And my wife noticed a big change in my attitude. I can't wait for the permanent one.

I have had a spinal cord stimulator for 1 year and it has not relieved my pain. I have had so many issues with the battery site as well as swelling where the rods go into my spine. All for nothing as it doesn’t even help my pain. I beg everyone even considering this to beware!!

If you’re considering getting a spinal cord stimulator, please read this:
“Implanted Spinal Cord Stimulators for Pain Relief:
Illustrating the FDA’s Dangerously Lax Oversight of High-Risk Implantable Medical Devices”
      Public Citizen, June 2020
      Michael A. Carome, M.D.
You have a right to make an informed decision based on ALL the available evidence, not just the manufacturer-funded studies. You should know that your physician may be receiving compensation from those manufacturers. You have a right to ask and to receive an honest answer.
Being in pain absolutely sucks (I know all too well), but that doesn’t mean you should get another surgery to have a problematic device inserted into your body. You have rights and deserve to have access to all of the available data so you can make an informed decision about your care.
      1. This is not my website, it’s from Public Citizen, with which I have no affiliation
      2. I’m a chronic back pain patient of more than three decades who had to give up my career because of disability
      3. I have been harassed by doctors trying to coerce me to consent to this device
      4. The FDA approval process is deeply flawed
      5. The risks far outweigh the potential benefits, and I have an informed and legitimate fear of those risks
      6. Patients who experience device failures are legally prohibited from suing the manufacturers; if a device fails, patients have no recourse (2008 SCOTUS case Riegel v Medtronic)
      7. The only thing shameful is the medical industrial complex that tries to silence contradictory evidence about the safety and efficacy of these devices

I would try something else. Anything else. Or possibly wait until technology catches up with these. Mine just causes more problems than it solves. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

      Hello,
I've had the Nevro stimulator device in for 4months..
      Trial was very good..
I'm really keen to know if Program 1 (1-7) that does give me some pain relief but when i go to Program 2 or 3 or 4 i feel like i don't get any relief (get more pain in the sides of my lumbar - where it gets sore when I've turned device off).
      Question..
Is Program 1 like 10,000 watt(analogy here) and Program 2 and above a greater degree of watts/power?
Are all Nevro stimulator's a set power at say Program 1 then go upwards?
      Jack.
