The water was up to the ceiling on the ground floor and destroyed her studio. But her hurdy-gurdies were not in the house and there was also a backup copy of her computer outside the house. Patty herself was in Iceland at the time and was shocked to watch the news on TV. The house was expensively insured against flooding and the insurance covered the damage to the house. To replace the damage to the studio, she started a Patreon petition and within three days she had a new studio together. What she didn't need from the money she gave away to other affected people. Since then, she has called her fans Gurdyans: I lost my home in the German floods (my first reaction) She processed the situation in Melodys of Hope and took part in the German preliminary round for the ESC in 2023. She came third in the audience vote, but together with the jury's vote, it was last place. The song is too average in my opinion and the live performance was bad.
