Tariq had both parents and nice penthouse but wanted to be a G and cane must've known he came from a rich family and hated him for trying to be something he not. And when he said "this is all I know" cane really never had no chance thanks to both parents. Ghost never wanted this life for riq but lorenzo and monet treated cane more like a solider than a son. Really felt for Dru this whole episode I legit seen it from their point of view and monet is terrible for what she did to those kids and it makes no better that Lorenzo didn't want his kids in the game.💯 Now you see when the kids called him dad and their mother monet because she wasn't a mother to them at all💯

As much as I don’t really like dru as a character he’s completely in the right in this situation not for setting up tariq but in terms of just their conversation he’s right and monet even realized herself that she was the problem and she is the only one to blame for getting shot because she literally raised her kids in the game and took their father from them dru had every right to try to kill her if anything monet is the parent that should get taken out by her kids tariq killed ghost for so much less than what she had done to her kids
this scene is deeper than dru vs cane it actually explains why cane hates tariq in a sense cane was always the hammer he did what was needed when lorenzo went to jail and then outta nowhere this ivy league student comes along monet takes a liking to and put her trust in and hes no longer the one she feels like she can depend on but all monet ever was trying to do was keep him outta harms way its the tariq and tasha relationship on steriods only difference is tasha and ghost tried to keep riq away from the game and kept secrets from him that tariq always seen as lies due to his mother and kanan influence on him so tasha accepted it ghost just couldn't though cane was born into the game and his parents made him aware of it early

Now the writers with canes character have been amazing and he’s my favourite character on the show and we can really see his pain throughout the show you can see in his face, but you never actually showed it. But now once people see that they feel him I find a kind of strange that some people are giving him his flowers now like he should’ve gave this Nigga his flowers long ago the only thing I have a problem with with the writers is stop making cane hate Tariq is getting corny.
