Pretty sad that this is so commonplace. I’ve had multiple leaks in our new Travato from where they put flex vinyl tubing on PEX fittings that weren’t designed for it. Using the warranty is a joke as they can’t get you in for weeks and then it takes another 2 weeks to get things fixed. And after all the waiting, they don’t fix it correctly. Better to just do it yourself so you know it’s right. You’re so right when you say your 2 year old van is probably better that it was new. Thanks for filming your adventures!
@@goldie74 Yep, that’s where I first heard about the RV Flair-it fittings that make it easy to go from PEX to flex. I’ve used several of his tips to fix our leaks.
Mr Lemon is lucky to have such a skilled Owner. Proud of you Bob 🎉. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s to both of you and your family. Thanks for a fun year ❤
Impressive fix. Chasing down water leaks sure takes lots of keen detective work. Congrats to you both for having the desire and ability to fix four water leaks in such a difficult area to work in!
Bob, you are incredibly patient! Oh my! I have seen other van lifers with water leaks. One woman had to remodel her entire van. 2 other ladies just had to remodel their sink area and replace flooring. What a pain in the neck! Not to mention costly. I understand why some people only have water at their kitchen sink, with tubing going into fresh water container and drains into the grey container. It really keeps water damage to a minimum. They also use composting toilets. Of course, they need to find shower facilities. Great job Bob! Merry Christmas to you both!❤❤
Very impressed with the water leak detection and fix. I think I would have given up and I know there would have been some cursing involved. Great job Bob. We are still so new to our van life, only used for tailgating thus far. Your east coast trip was amazing. Hope to explore a little bit in the coming months.
This shows why there’s an advantage to buying a well maintained van vs a new one - especially from Thor. I’ve found the same loose fittings on our water system - Sanctuary 19P. Haven’t checked the pressure reducer or gravity full line yet. Always great tips and learn a lot from your posts!
We have a 2018 Travato K. In the summer of 2023 I took my then 8 year old granddaughter on a trip up the coast of California. Well two days out just like you my carpet was wet. But our bath is in the back and so it was the back corner on the driver side. Anyway, like you we didn’t use the water and that was a pain in that you know what. And when I got back, my husband had to take that mirror off that’s in the back and pull that wall and it barely pulled out enough to where he could get his hand back there. And anyway to make a long story short, it was three months before he finally got that fixed and figured out what was leaking and we called Winnebago and they did send us all the schematics for the plumbing on the Travato K. So we do have that now. So I really understand watching this video what you went through. And like you, he learned a lot too. Now I can’t find where you guys always say. we’ll leave it in the description below. Where is that here on RUclips? How do I get to that? Because I’d like to see that part that you used and maybe write down the information just in case we ever need something like that. Thank you guys. You do a great job on your videos. I’ve been watching you for quite a while now geez so I hope your channel is growing cause it should be.
That looked exhausting! Great job Bob! Glad you caught it before any real damage was done! If I’m done building our van we might make it to Florida to meet you guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Wow Bob you never cease to amaze me with your handyman prowess! Are you a mechanic? Meet ups??? Where and when? The Florida supershow has always been on my list. Supposed to be terrific. Pretty new hair color Hillary. Does Bob like it? Merry Christmas.
Don’t forget to properly index your LED headlights so you get maximum illumination without blinding oncoming drivers. We have LED headlights in all our vehicles, the difference is stunning.
Hey Bob I see the box for the Fog lights but do you have the number for the headlights that you bought. I’m assuming it’s the same company. We loved watching your trip and I’m installing your kitchen faucet right now. Love your channel
Hey Bob. Instead of using 3 inches of braided nylon hose, and most of the existing “brittle” hose, curious why not just replace the whole thing with the braided nylon hose from end to end paired with the appropriate fitting and hose clamps. Seems like the cheap slinky looking hose will eventually break again.
I'll be in Tampa RV Show. It'll be awesome to meet you, I also have a few trips planned for PHX in January, so let's plan the collab filming we talked about soon 😊
Sure looks like that was a pain, but hopefully, it is good to go. I can't believe how tight they made the gravity fill line.... Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Very impressed with the abilities you have, not to mention your patience! That said, I cannot believe the lack of ethics on Thor's part. It seems they cheaped out on materials and construction for the entire RV, having a lack of integrity seemingly without limit. Shame on them. Your frustration is evident, but your resolve demonstrates the strength of character you possess. May the next year give you the positive experiences of travel you both deserve. Be seeing you!
Bob, add a Bore scope to your tools, its good getting in these tight areas for tracking leaks. This is why one needs to be mechanically inclined if you want an RV. The manufacturer screwed this up and probably a dealership service would again. 👍
Is it time to trade Mr. Lemon? Wow that looked like a lot of work to find the leaks and then replace and repair, very nice job! I hope you have no more leaks.😊
Well I sure do hope that is the end of Mr. Lemon leaking all over the place! LOL Remember that driving an RV is like putting your house through a never ending earth quake as you're driving ! Things can simply shake apart! 😵💫.... Merry Christmas to everybody! ☃🎄
Dry everything really good with a paper towel. Then wrap all your pipes and fittings with paper towels. Come back a few minutes later and see which one is wet and you have found your leak.
My lack of mechanical skills scares the heck out of me to get any kind of RV! Kind of stinks. Maybe I just put a bed in the back of my Denali pickup!! LOL
:) QOQ! Great share, video and you are HOME :) I think the LED Headlight and Fog Light UPGRADE is the BEST to help you see better : ) May have to do same for my MiniVan ! Can you let us know where and how to order them for other vehicles or the ProMaster ? ALL the BEST and Cheers from Soggy PNWest ! ! : )
I enjoy your videos and honestly would have poured gas in it and set it afire long ago. I think your professional training in your jobs make you think more reasonable than me. It takes a very supportive wife and a smart man to listen to her in stressful times. But at the end of the day you always learn something about mister lemon.
Thanks for taking us on your journeys. I like both the scenic and the technical. One question about the pressure reducer. I know the function is in the name. But what pressure is it trying to reduce? From city water fill or from the water pump? Does this mean that you don’t need external pressure regulator? And do you have any hypothesis for why so many leaks at the same time? Do you think it was just due to the shaking from your long road trip? Or is there some other root cause? Or just an (un)happy coincidence?
I'm in the process of buying a new 2025 Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A. No shower, hot water or flush toilet. 20 gallons of fresh water and a 20 gallon grey tank all integrated on the passenger side. I'm hoping to not have any water troubles.
Please 4 attempts who cares the only thing that matters is the end result, and you knowing its done correctly w/o short cuts or improper materials/ parts used that will cause failures in the future. Remember Bob you can NOT have success w/o failures first. Failures are nothing more than learning opportunities to reach a success, ONLY true failure is never willing to try…! Well done sir, keep this up you wont be able to call Mr. 🍋, Mr. 🍋 anymore 🤣
I am terribly impressed with how handy Bob is and how you all persevere to get to the root cause. Bravo 👏🏻
This was one of the most informative episodes thus far. Bob, you have the patience of a saint. Merry Christmas!
Bob your tenacity pays off once again , Mr. Lemon is no longer a Leaker , just a Lemon 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I have also seen how the pex\flex tubing is a big issue! Rigor Rv Repair (on youtube) talks about this a lot.

From watching you guys for so many years when anyone buys a RV they should get a RV inspector just like when you buy a house with the home inspector
You are so right Dave.
The Tampa RV SuperShow is awesome, hope to see you there

Yay Bob! Great job. You’re so blessed to have the knowledge & patience 😊 to do all this. Hillary, love your hair. Merry Christmas guys!

Hi love the hair color Hillary ❤, have a great Holidays you guys ❤🎉🎉❤❤

Most impressive part of the video was Bob not getting pipe goop all over his hoodie.

Gosh, you guys drove right by me in Clemson, SC!
Sure looks like that was a pain, but hopefully, it is good to go. I can't believe how tight they made the gravity fill line....
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
whew, I live in Michigan and also have to winterize my plumbing, it takes me about 3 hours. These vans are never simple.
Love your channel
Obvi...Thor owes you a ton of royalties for showing people how to troubleshoot and repair their fine, fine products.
Very impressed with the abilities you have, not to mention your patience!

When you sell that van, someone will be such a lucky owner🎉
Good job...
I have a Thor Sequence also on a 20A floor plan and I too have found loose fittings on water lines
Bravo! 👍👍👍👍👍

Dry everything really good with a paper towel. Then wrap all your pipes and fittings with paper towels. Come back a few minutes later and see which one is wet and you have found your leak.
Well, time to gut the van and do your own build!! Lol orrrrr, Gut it and have noovo redo it for you lol In all seriousness, very impressive Bob!!
My lack of mechanical skills scares the heck out of me to get any kind of RV! Kind of stinks. Maybe I just put a bed in the back of my Denali pickup!! LOL
Great job! I’ll be taking a similar trip this spring. Any recommendations of things (meaning parts) I might want to have on hand with me on the trip?
If you have a Thor product, it might be best to have a second one available...
Just kidding...no one should have to have two Thor products...

Only if somebody could go to Indiana, where RV,s are made and teach them how to make RVs everyone’s life would be so much better.
🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
I always turn off my water pump on travel days. It reduces the pressure and stress on the pipe joints. Imo
Hillary,,,little change with you,,,
