I can just about manage an F chord on an acoustic guitar so it’s so impressive listening to this guy talking about his equipment- even though 90% went over my head😀 I’ve seen Aussie Floyd a few times so it’s great to see it up closer. Fantastic
I'm a Strat guy too (eight in my collection) but I have ONE Les Paul. It's a 1969 Les Paul Gold Top with P90s and it sounds killer. I prefer Gibson's P90s to their humbuckers.
Those P90s in the LP sound great !! I bought some humbucker size P90s myself a couple of months ago for my own LP, listening to that guitar, I can't wait til mine gets fitted with them 👍
Loved watching the Run Like Hell sample, cracking job. People may love P90’s but they sure are fugly looking! Seen the Aussies 4 times and never been disappointed
Wow Hey David Fowler I don't know if you're see my message on here I'm your friend on FB Page , I was been Jamming Alot of Pink Floyd lately and even made a couple of FB videos to _ I just wanted to say WOW BRO YOU GOT ONE MEGA SETUP ON YOUR GEAR AND I LOVE ALL YOUR GUITARS MY FRIEND
17.15 That pitch shifter really sounds the mutt's nuts, going to have to have a look for one myself i think, as my preferred guitar to play is my les paul so no trem :(
Nice video, saw you guys play a few years back and thought you were brilliant.... now, after learning to play, I've been constantly trying to find the perfect Glmour tone, unfortunately, without the far superior equipment!!! I have however, almost got the Comfortably Numb solo tone nailed, you can barely tell when I play over the track! Haha!! If I'm being honest, I was surprised to hear you were British?.. was I being a complete moron thinking you were Australian??!!!... Anyway, thanks for the great video and keep on playing some of the best music ever recorded... P.S. I used to live a few doors away from Roger Waters, he was engaged to my mates mum for a short time in the late 80's... he painted the house pink on the outside... although I didn't know at the time he was a member of the my future favourite band, it has become one of my most prized memories from childhood!!!. All the best!
..Ciao, I'm write to ask for a tip ..., I found that we have almost the same audio equipment and I would like to ask you a few questions if you can. I personally resumed training for 12 months, after stopping in 1997 due to an accident that caused damage to my hearing, but in 2017 I decided to resume what I had interrupted, starting from what I had left, a dream .. a dream and some effect of the boss Made in JAPAN, which I discover today sound better than the current Taiwan twins ... this prompted me to deepen the discussion a lot and I started to resell the new equipment purchased in 2017 to change it with the twins used and Vintage .. until you get to a Setup very close to yours, line6 pod Pro> boss GR Pro> Gizmo RJM> Drawer Pedals etc ... I take this opportunity to congratulate you for all the work you are doing and I ask you, will you ever come to Italy ?. . I hope I'm not out of place and can exchange some technical advice with you. thanks and best wishes for everything! Francesco .it
Great video, but I'm itching to know the nerdy routing details of how the Line 6 Pod XT Pro & Floorboard appear to be being used as the MIDI switching hub of the entire rig. ;-) I'm guessing that all of the Pod Effects & Amp Sims are disabled, apart from pitch shift on a few patches, and that the MIDI out of the Pod is linked to the looper controlling the stomp boxes in the rack trays. My guess is that the Pod is also there to be the amp sim should it all drop in the pot and the Twin Reverb blows up leaving direct as being the only option. Maybe...
Back in those days I just used the XT Pro to mix the microphone, acoustic DIs and keyboard, then I added a little reverb and studio compression for FOH. Basically now it's the same but I have 2 amps & 2 mics as the whole rig is stereo. In this video the basics were mono and then I added the odd bit of rotary from the Line 6. It sounds so much better now with a fully stereo rig. So the line 6 was and still is just a mixer connected to a nice pedalboard with a clear display so I can see the patch names.
Great stuff! Its been a bit quiet since the interviews of Steve and Dave and the various roles. I'd have to say when DDF said some time ago 'I could play this gig" he obviously had a great passion for it. This is not to say that the previous guitarist hadn't the cut as he is a very accomplished musician and played well. I do love Daves style however and he really does have his Gilmour down pat so he's obviously got good ears. Love the simplicity of the system and it works. I'll be looking for more videos again as I'm also a gear nut it just never ends does it, but it is a lot of fun. Same to say for these guys not a bad day job hey! Would be great to get these guys to Australia, nudge nudge cheers mate.
Holy crap........the only other rig except for mine is the Boss GT=Pro....i use two...i buy them when i find them.............wow............great stuff mate....i'm a Gilmour freak already....but next i suppose you use Evidence cables from guitar to speaker wire......call Tony Farinnela......great chap........Gilmour rif is same....all evidence, even comes from cs with dg guitar
This dude loves his gear...very slick demo and control of that wicked rig. Can't mess with a Fender amp either...I was actually arguing with some little twat a few weeks ago about Fender amps, he said Fender is shit....ha
David consistently plays 3 or 4 guitars a show. Not counting his acoustics. Black Strat Main guitar, Tele for old Floyd/Run Like Hell/etc, Red Strat for 80s and 90s tone/Shine On, and a Gibson or another humbucker guitar for some newish stuff.
Yes correct! On his recent tour he had the Black Strat and the old Fender Esquire "Workmate" as his mains and the '56 Goldtop Les Paul on one song. 2 lap steel and 2 acoustic guitars and that's it. The Red Strat has been dropped completely, as the Black Strat is his favorite axe again since the Live 8 gig in 2005 ;)
I’m trying to recreate studio sounds not just have a good live touring sound, hence I need more guitars (that’s my excuse). 9 on tour has been my maximum so far 🤣
Great player who doesn't take himself too seriously.
Just found this video. What a great guy. He knows his stuff and is happy to share it.
He is a perfect example of a player not only passionate about great tone but about knowing your gear!! And pretty damn funny.
How he switches from Gilmour to country or Hendrix is amazing. What a talent.
I can just about manage an F chord on an acoustic guitar so it’s so impressive listening to this guy talking about his equipment- even though 90% went over my head😀 I’ve seen Aussie Floyd a few times so it’s great to see it up closer. Fantastic
That Les Paul tone is GORGEOUS. As a Stratocaster man, I want that Les Paul now.
I'm a Strat guy too (eight in my collection) but I have ONE Les Paul. It's a 1969 Les Paul Gold Top with P90s and it sounds killer. I prefer Gibson's P90s to their humbuckers.
Check out my TH '54 Les Paul in this one, I sold the one in this video and got another..... ruclips.net/video/svhExIzcXQs/видео.html
Alexander Eddy it’s the P90s. Rick Beato talks about the superiority of P90s in his videos.
Great video - most of us are very envious of David and wish we could be doing what he's doing. He's got a nice collection of gear there.
My young shredder is getting into playing Pink Floyd, so proud of him :) I'll show him this.
what a nice bloke..
seen these about 10 times want to go again now.
Amazing setup and great guitar player
Very very professional guy! Explains very well and interesting
Thanks
David I don't know how I missed this video but once again you sound Absolutely Amazing
90K views! Thanks Sean and everyone that’s watched 😎
Great rig rundown Dave. Very informative. I was at your last two visits to Liverpool (Echo Arena). The gigs were superb.
That little run like hell lick.... needed that to carry on with the whole band kick in
Great band. This guy has the coolest gig ever....
Going to see you guys this month in Augusta, GA! I will be the one with the smile on my face ;)
Be honest, you’re here because you searched for a Dave Gilmour rig rundown! This is nice though!!!
yes... ended up watching the whole thing because this guy is interesting and likable. :)
no, i'm was looking for a pedal blues driver boos
I was looking for Asian chicks doing it doggy , i dunno how the hell i ended up here
Yes, hoping Premier Guitar actually got to talk to the legend himself. Kinda let down, but a good cover player will have to do.
Yup!😂
Very cool insight- well done!
great job, I love David`s sound
Those P90s in the LP sound great !!
I bought some humbucker size P90s myself a couple of months ago for my own LP, listening to that guitar, I can't wait til mine gets fitted with them 👍
Damn, that '72 Tele with the neck humbucker sounds unbelievably cool. I want one now!
Great rig rundown...thank you!
I've seen Dave live a few times. Absolute top notch pro. Bravo!!!!
seen him playing with aussie Floyd last year. amazing player.
Loved watching the Run Like Hell sample, cracking job. People may love P90’s but they sure are fugly looking!
Seen the Aussies 4 times and never been disappointed
Just found this video. Holy hell this guy can play. I’m sure he slays Floyd or anything else he plays. Cheers.
Cornish p1 is modeled after Gilmour’s rams head big muff, not the p2. P2 is Pete’s own take on the circuit
Pretty sure using a wah pedal without imitating the sound with your mouth is harder than trying to keep your eyes open when you sneeze...
It absolutely is
One of the best rig run downs I've seen....would love to have that Tele custom....neck humbucker sounds awesome
Reese Bobby thanks, I'd love to make some more of these! One day :) - in fact Dave has changed his setup so watch this space....
We could do one every year Sean!
@@seanski44 what's update sean
I love this guy.
Great video, thanks for doing this.
Saw you guys in Boston recently. Didn't know you had a youtube channel! :D
Fantastic!
Great job man ... keep 'em coming! subbed

Really enjoyed and a lovely guy
I love this I think I’ll start a Pink Floyd tribute band now!” From America!” Suckers!” Cheers fellow floydians
And roger
I love that line about spinal tap, 7:39 but does it go to 11?
and I guess by the end of the video the answer is YES! lol
Beautifully played in Ipswich last night #aussiefloyd
Merci ❤
LOL I HAVE THIS GUY'S PICK!!!! LOVE HIM! JUST SO KIND AND BRILLIANT!
Hey, I remember you!

Loved the video and did,nt think it was a Racket lol

Thx for this video. I am fan!
Dave rocks!
I've kept my GV-2 in a drawer. Till today. Hahahahah Very interesting video...and I had this idea to buy a Boss BD-2W...he confirmed I have to.

Always wanted to be in a floyd cover band. Drummer. Some guitar and keys.
Went to see these guys in October, they were absolutely brilliant!

If I was the interviewer I'd be like throwing all my fav Gilmour licks at him. Do this one and do this one lol.....

Dave should go solo and cover Gilmour's solo stuff. :)
Cool sound :)

I've always wondered why the poles in Strat pickups are uneven. Some are sticking out, some are lower. Any reason for this?
because of the fretboard curve, the middle ones are further up than the outer ones
What a cool guy. :)
This dude loves his gear...very slick demo and control of that wicked rig. Can't mess with a Fender amp either...I was actually arguing with some little twat a few weeks ago about Fender amps, he said Fender is shit....ha
And now I use Supro ha ha!
The mighty BD-2.
do rig rundown of australian KISS next

Great video , very interesting
+Mike Lyons thanks! Been busy recently so videos have slowed but we still have more to come!
+Mike Lyons cheers!
+Mike Lyons thanks Mike! Sean
What's the rotary speaker simulator?
So, the first 28 again please, I think I've got the rest 🤪
Wow!
Don't know know what else to say.
The Boss GT pro is a highly underrated piece of gear. I gigged with one for s few years.
"a few years."
I have 3 ;)
At 13:24, he talks about a rotary simulator, but never tells what pedal it is. Can anyone shed some light on what pedal he is using for this?
Probably a simulator in the boss multi effect unit
Which mxr dynacomp is he using? The reissue one or the new one? :)
Old one... Original 74.
I am trying to figure out why he is 'raising' volumes or effects levels by pulling the expression pedals 'down' to the off position.
Because I like the default position to be pedal up 😉 it’s not about the direction the pedal moves in, as long as it starts fully on.
My god is he good! Shit!
Is this guy from a floyd tribute band?
Anyone know?
Thanks
Yep, Dave plays with Australian Pink Floyd Show. HTH
I love the math to get to 11
still using line 6?
So funny. Mr Gilmore uses like one or two back in the day.
Strings???
Thanks

Hi I am Dave from the Australian Pink Floyd show, and I speak with an East London accent. So I am not an Aussie at all.
I never said I was.... and I'm from South East london, not East london ;)
The P2 sounds like like a ProCo Rat
Obstsalat95 It’s just a modified Big Muff
Most annoying camera work.
Great passionate musician, great gear.
And Gilmour plays one guitar through pretty much all of his gigs maybe one swap over here and there
But this guy doesn't suck either.

You need to get a new Strat, that thing is old!
cool guy
He´s good but I´m missing the lightness of David´s play.
Assumed he would be an Australian
Nice video, but please stop shaking the camera around.
This is NOT Pink Floyd mate... Anyway great vid and awesome gear.
he doesn't sound australian to me.
NOT PINK FLOYD. This is a cover band!
Oh gee really? I could have sworn that was David Gilmour.
@@Mooseboy08 Same! It's totally him.
Thanks for that, Captain Obvious ...
geez you guys are so witty... The title of the video is wrong and misleading.
Misleading title!

Don't title the video "Pink Floyd Guitar Rig" if you're not Pink Floyd.
