PLJ was so good and then so bad when they went Top-40 pop. WNEW and then WAPP and WBAB, and to a lesser extent, WLIR, filled in the gaps for me...how about you? Thank you for watching Elise!

@@TheRock-N-RollShowPodcast I remember when WAPP came out, the went commercial free all summer to entice listeners, but I don't recall them overtaking WNEW in the long run. WLIR played a lot more of the "new wave" music than the other stations, I still have a tape I recorded off WLIR of a Police concert. As for WBAB, I still listen to them whenever I'm in range.
