Gotta be honest (as a RC owner myself): this car is not for everyone. And that’s fine by me. The exterior design is controversial, interior lacking a bit compared to its competitors, and power is not “enough”, etc. Sure BMW has amazing sportiness, performance, and handling. Mercedes interior is one of if not the top in terms of luxury and amenities. What makes the Lexus RC so special is the perfect balance and harmony in all of those without sacrificing it’s proven reliability and focus on quality. It’s the perfect vehicle in my eyes. It has enough sportiness to cut through busy traffic, comfortable enough for long trips and daily driving, and not a huge fan of the infotainment system; but, I can overlook that flaw as everything else outweighs that factor. I have had my car for about a year now and I’m still in disbelief it’s mine. I continue getting compliments while I’m putting fuel, and I notice others staring at it while stopped at red lights. I see dozens of BMW, Mercedes, and Audi daily; the Lexus RC is a dime in a dozen. Didn’t get this car for the attention or brand, I’ve wanted it for years and finally scored one.
FINALLY! A review of the RC350 by someone who actually gets what this car is all about and understands those of us who bought it and drive it. I’m not drag racing or tracking it… I wanted something that was reliable, comfortable and quiet to drive to/from work every day and weekend getaways. Yes, I own a 2016 RC350 FSport in exact same colour scheme since new. It currently has 62500kms on it and almost six years old. It still looks and drives the same the day I drove it away from Lexus of London. Not a rattle or vibration. Only regular maintenance. It’s awesome in the snow. As it still puts a smile on my face every day, I plan to have this car for many more years! I apologize in advance to those of you who feel indifferent… it’s only my opinion!
A tip you might not know that i did with my 2016 RC 250 F sport, you can add the RCF rear cupholder and storage for the centre of the seat. It's a perfect fit. Just buy the part directly from Japan. It's so handy as you can place water bottles in it and reach behind from drivers seat to access them on long trips etc :). It also just makes the interior looks so much better. I changed the steering wheel shifters to RCF parts as well which are aluminium instead of plastic. I also added a ltd edition red stitched GSF shift knob that matches the rest of the color and stitching in the interior. It looks amazing. I get compliments to this day even though the car is 7 years old now. I would suggest getting the silver car with the red interior rather than the bright exterior colors that are a pain to keep maintained.
Although you are driving the all wheel drive RC350, the rear wheel drive F-Sport vehicle has 265/35 - 19 inch wheels in back and 235/40- 19 wheels in front. This is not a 0-60 type vehicle although the car has very acceptable performance and is a great car for high speed long distance runs, which is what I experience going to work. I have been getting 30-32 mpg going well in excess of the speed limit (sustained) here in California on the freeways. I could not be happier with this car, having previously owned many high performance vehicles.
Agree with what you said. I had a 2016 Fiesta ST and later I bought a 2016 Corvette Stingray used. Fiesta was sporty and nimble but not very comfortable or well equipped. The Corvette was fast and fairly comfortable but not practical being a two seater and I had a few mechanical issues with it. Last year I got a 2020 Lexus RC 350 F Sport. It's not super fast but it has decent power and handling. It looks nice and is very comfortable with a decent sized trunk. It has back seats, even if they are not very roomy. Most importantly it has Lexus (Toyota) reliability and I can tell the build quality is much better than my Corvette. I don't need a car that fast anyway, it just gets me into trouble. Fuel mileage is decent I am able to get 29-30 on the highway but around town it really isn't much. Overall I'm happy with a good mix of a sporty and reliable car.
Which version of the RC do you have? Does it still get you excited like the first day you saw and drove it? The RC looks so beautiful but I keep hearing people saying that the 2022 Lexus IS 350 F Sport sedan is the better buy because they finally updated and improved the IS chassis etc whereas they never seem to invest any changes into the RC coupe. I'm thinking of buying an RC brand new but it's such a lot of money and I'm the kind of person to usually just drive honda civics! This would be a big deal for me...
Well explained - After viewing many You-tube videos - Yours's was special and informative. I special ordered my 2021 RC 350 F-Sport AWD in Flare Yellow in August 2020 - it took 4 months to get it. (F- Sport means Fun-Sport), it is the ULTIMATE! For 2021 - the RC's have the automatic application and release of the parking brakes.
Love this car. I picked up a CPO 350F-Sport RWD for 31K. I have white with red interior and even to this day, it is an eye-catcher. Way better looking in person.
My 17’ IS300 was totaled by another driver last week and yesterday I picked up a 17’ RC350 and mannn im so happy with it already. Similar feeling as the IS but I can already tell I’ll like it more than the IS
I just saw and sat in a new RC350 RWD in Infrared. It is an absolutely gorgeous car. My current car is a 2012 BMW 535i xDrive, and I’m ready to trade for a 5 yo RC350
Lane assist, park assist, and adaptive cruise are so useless after driving a car with them. And @ 7:26, not true, got the 2016 RC 350 and I don't have this problem at all, even on bright day.
They left the canvas for more to be done I'm sold I'm buying the rc 350 awd and putting the supercharger on it my friends was producing over 440hp with all wheel drive it's going to hook fast I'm just glad I got to test drive both with and without the supercharger it's a huge difference
2jz probably isn't ever coming back in the toyota/lexus lineup but its not uncommon to swap 2jzs in these. makes it a new gen supra minus the bmw bits.
Only complaint I have is that gap between the front fenders and the tires. That shit is soo ugly. I bought a used 2015 R350 f sport back in 2017 and I quickly bought rsr coilovers for it.
One major problem I see is that I couldn't find a dealer near me that had any in stock to look at. Do I see a CD player there?......Or is it a DVD player?....No wireless Android Auto? I wish it had more leather.
Do you see a dark circular shadow from the headlights on the drivers side on the ground? I lose visibility while driving in the dark? Is this common in this car?
I have not experienced that (in all honesty I did not do much driving after dark with this particular vehicle), and I’ve never heard anyone else mention it yet. Maybe some other owners who come across this video might chime in!🤞
Dee, I know exactly what you are talking about, I've noticed this when driving at night too. I was thinking maybe the headlights need to be adjusted. I've only had the car a couple months and haven't gotten around to bringing it into the dealership..
Honestly, this is not a sports car. It’s a touring car that looks a little sporty. The HP just isn’t there to rave others cars. Look elsewhere if your goal is for more horsepower and compete against other cars. If you want a nice looking cruising car with a little getup and go, comfortably, then give this a look.
I love this car, we have an is 300 f sport. But this review sucks. The interior is severely dated. This car is long overdue for an update. You're reviewing this car like nobody knows about features that every f sport on the road has had for years.

What he said!
U right it’s Sold Out for 2022
Power at 311 HP is enough for me.
Your right in not having enough power but once u add a supercharger it's gonna feel like a whole different car and faster than a scatpack

Yeah i just got my registered for the 7th time and it drives like new .No issues nothing needed to be fixed for rego.
In the US. I have 2015 RC 350FSPORT approximately 75000 miles. When i purchased it , it had about 30000miles . Beautiful car..
Very well done review. I recently got my 2021 RC F sport in Ultra Sonic Blue. I love it.
Thank you! They are a very beautiful car - lucky you! 😊
@Kevin Lujan Congrats! Looking to get a red or blue, best colors IMO.
@@Limitless415 the infrared was my second choice. It was very hard to choose.

BEST REVIEW EVER 🧡
Reeeeeeeeally really good review ma man. There's so few RC videos on RUclips so this was dope👌🏽👌🏽

I think personally the 2016/2017 was the best one. The newer ones after that are too weighed down with useless tech you don't need.
