Thanks for sharing your knowledge on Beokuta, that being said, there is no CLEAR publication/documentation that shows what tribe makes up the largest slave population, not that it matters anymore and I don’t think it matters in those days as well, they all probably just stay together and try to survive. A tribe leading one of many rebellions does not make that tribe have the most populous in a strange land. According to history books, Ghanaians, Senegalese and the Gambian lead several successful rebellion back in those dark days as well. Those that I know associates themselves more with Ghana anyways. Enough of this division, I see black kings, queens, princes and princesses in every African until he/she gives me reason to see otherwise. I am more of a Pan-Africanist with simplified sense of our people, so apologies if my opinion sounds ignorant to you. I hope someday we as African will see beyond what makes us different just as we want other races to see beyond our skin color. Just my two cents sha 🙂

*I can't be the only one who wandered if she was Igbo or Yoruba before my sisters set me straight. It's simply the best cover I've heard to date.*
Most Jamaicans are Igbo ! Mose slaves that went there were Igbo.
Here we go again 🤣. Ghanaians are claiming the same smh. Well! at least we agreed we are all Africans. Koffe’s cover made me love the song. Burna boy should be invoiced for this o
I think Jamaicans are more closely linked with Ghana .Their national heroes are Ghanaians Nanny and Cudjoe. Nanny was born in Ghana
I approve from Nigeria. You are one of us.
Ugo I loveeee ur comment 😭😭😭

Koffee, you just reconnected 450 years of broken links and absentia from the motherland. Only a handful have attempted this. Welcome back home, darling. Your Nigerian passport, a piece of land and citizenship awaits you!!!
Pure love and kindnesd
Woo 🔥
John Bull She is born an raised in Jamaica. Jamaica is her motherland and i don‘t know if she could easily leave her motherland.
@@firk407 Correction. Africa is the motherland and fatherland. Black people only live in the Caribbean and the Americas. Your piece of land awaits you here in Africa because where your blood comes from is truly where you are from.
"From the very day we left the shores of our *fatherland* we've been trampled on..." ~ Babylon System, Bob Marley)
So this is the 'year of the return' initiated by President Addo of Ghana. It time to welcome back home our distant cousins. Africa is our home
And so, we claim Koffee, by force!!!😁
Koffee come chop pounded yam. I love this girl.

This is so good to listen to. Many thanks for this Koffee and Congratulations to Burna Boy on his Grammy win!!!
from patois to pigin to raaaaaaahhhhhtid
And she did it so effortlessly
Leelee Mo it’s the yoruba language from Nigeria
B1Chronixx it’s similar but there are distinct differences. I think if she was trini or Bajan it would be harder since the patwa in Barbados is heavily Scottish and in Trinidad is heavily Indian if you know what I mean.
B1Chronixx i wouldn’t say it’s easy for us. The structure of the 2 dialects are similar but the words are quite different. I still don’t know he’s saying really lol
As a Jamaican, Koffee translated this song very well for me lol
very aptly if i may say
Fantastic Job she did , Nigerian Pidgin is similar to Jamaican Patois in many ways so she’s very much at home with this song . Was learning Your Patios and I noticed most of the words are said like a long stretch of words joined together . Also the Intonation is hard. I would say Nigerian Pidgin is easier . Bim!
Lol fr
I'm surprised!!!
Shes sing the axact way burna did ot
I’m so impressed how she’s learned all the lyrics soo well.. she’s very talented
This woman is amazing love her music🎶
She is such a positive genuine soul. She didnt even use the n word. She is amazing.

Wow!!! I waited patiently to hear a slip up. Especially how she will pronounce Oluwaburna, Japata, Lagbaja, Agbada and Shina Peller but she killed it with ease. Welcome young Queen. The world is yours and may the hands of our ancestors guard and guide you. Black Excellence
