You sneaking around a frost cave naked with nothing but a bat was terrifying! Yeah I'd reset at that point too lol. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and Happy Holidays :) Thank you for the wholesome enjoyment!
last episode had me rolling laughing! Getting beat up and bloodied on hardcore mode, shift the difficulty and then continue with a plethora of kamikaze runs for resources and laughing all the way. Merry Christmas Hiccup! SKAL!!!
Happy holidays! I am in the "lower the difficulty" camp. Watching the struggle is fun, but seeing you create bases and progress is more fun, in my opinion. I'm worried that at this rate you won't see the Ashlands biome until next holiday season lol. Of course, do whatever makes you happy, but I think lowering the difficulty would make for a more engaging playthrough for you AND for us.
Merry Christmas, Hiccup! I may suggest, for the armor, that you should definitely rock an: Iron Helmet: For more Armor Points / No reduction of movement Root Harkness: Resistance against Pierce Damage (Deathquitos/Spears) Troll Pants: For more movement speed. (Once you get to the Mountain Biome you could use the Fenris Leggins.)
I wouldn't be against you reducing the difficulty to be honest. It's fun to watch you go toe to toe with the enemy in melee combat. Also, the Ashlands are already a step above the other biomes in terms of difficulty... With these settings I'm telling you it will be absolute pain! But either way you choose, I'll watch anyway! Thank you for the awesome energy you bring into those videos. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family! :)
I fully agree. There comes a point where the extra difficulty goes from fun to a frustrating and sad grind. Wont be upset to see it go down a notch for your sanity sake.
Oh no, why does that sound so foreboding.... I'm nervous and now way too excited about it. I must buy one! As soon as we get more gold, that potions next!
leather can also be found in mud piles in swamp. likewise, the yellow mushrooms are great early stam food. Lox cannot break birch trees confirmed. Fuling villages also have small amounts of leather scrap in the tanning racks. Merry Christmas.
You are absolutely right, all the balance goes away at higher difficulty using vanilla weapons and shields. I find it sooooo much more enjoyable to play when I am using the Valheim Armory mod where I can get shields that block and parry more and weapons that fill in the gaps that vanilla is missing. With all the supplemental buffs that are available from the bog witch I feel like the developers should leave standard difficulty as a catch all for first time players and those who are not great at this or that but still enjoy the game a lot and add even more small key buffs for those who like ALL aspects of fighting with more challenge. Like what if shield upgrades went to 4 levels instead of 3 and the parry bonus increased with each upgrade, say from 1.5 to 2, to 2.5 or what ever is reasonable to keep pace with the harder hitting enemies.
These settings are crazy, I love how you laugh everything away - I was so terrified most of the time by just watching all these adventures! Going back to my hard playthrough and enjoy how easy all of this is compared to this... :P
Hqppy New year, Hiccup! - I definitely want a difficulty rating where you can melee most monsters. Alternating, weapon types, mixing in some aoe and ranged makes for much more fun. I took out Bonemass myself in melee, using the best iron hammer, and aoe sledge for the spawning skellies. Flatten the area around the skull, and go around and around. Nip in for a couple hits when Bonemass rears back etc etc. Ranged duels can be very loooong and boring.
Just my two cents… you should consider lowering the death penalty and adding portals. It’s not realistic to think you’re going to do Ashland in very hard difficulty without a portal.

Lowering the difficulty further for the sake of progress is a good idea. You can always increase it later if you find the Mist/Ashlands too easy
I absolutely agree. Though from what i've heard about the Ashlands, you won't want to make it any more difficult! haha
A hint for the love potion because it is NOT obvious at all : it attracts something :D

Awesome recovery, don't worry about having to break the bed and going back to spawn. You tried it all!
Happy holidays to and your family 🎄
And to you and yours!
Merry Christmas! Its crazy that the loxes cant knock down the fine wood but trolls can!
Merry Christmas!
It really is isn't it!?
Merry Christmas Hiccup! Love your content!
Merry Christmas!
I believe Bog Witch expands her inventory after you defeat each boss. Be sure to check back occasionally.
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Good to know about the Bog Witch. Thanks!
Happy Christmas Hiccup! Thank you for the joy you bring us with each episode.

Oh, I like the way you think. This would probably feel better, yeah...
You got me back out into the wilds on a new playthrough, having a blast once again! (With a map!)
I hope you and Ember have a GREAT holiday, Hiccup!!
Right back at ya!

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Great episode 🎉
Cheers to you and yours! Have a great Christmas!
You could build platforms over the water to retrieve your bronze pickaxe to avoid swimming.

I don't always want an hour and a half of chill Christmas Hiccup content, but when I do....
Merry Christmas! Can’t believe the day of release. What a present!
Good Christmas fun! With your settings it's a whole new game...
Looking forward to next episode: Hiccups Bootcamp 😊
Happy holidays hiccup, yes the troll will chop fine wood, and you need the serving tray for the new food stuffs

Merry Christmas to you and your family Hiccup! Hope you had a great day!
Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
Justice at last!! Birch tree for the win.
Christmas came early with this one

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
The serving tray does have a purpose
Not sure if this ivy is the one you can find elsewhere in the world, but you might perhaps consider having it against a wall two high for berries?
I’d support you reducing the difficulty just so you can handle melee attacks. 🙂
I do enjoy the melee... lol miss it. Haha
Bronze pickaxe bypasses all that pain 😅
Can't blame you for wanting to notch the combat difficulty down. To me, Hard feels quite balanced for combat but still being a challenge
This guy sounds like barry from archer
LETSGOOOOOOO
