  • As I said, this is not stress test or experiment… it is just normal duvet wash which is too big even for 9kg drum….
Machine skipped all interm spins which resulted very high rinses

Just washed a queen size microfiber duvet in my Bosch serie 6 washing machine (2024), with a max capacity of 8 kg. No wobble or bangs; just 1 instance of imbalance which it promptly corrected. I ran it on 40 degree cotton cycle which has a max capacity of 8 kg. Great wash quality despite the low water usage. I am thoroughly impressed.

What I do to avoid it all going to 1 side of the drum is
Lie the quilt out flat on the floor
Roll it up tight into a sausage shape as tight as you can.
Roll the sausage shape from end to end
You should now have a ball, squeeze as much air out as you can the put in the machine keeping it as in shape as you can using the circle of the drum to keep the now circle shape of the quilt.
Works a treat everytime for me. Not 100% balanced when wet but it will do a full speed spin. Hope this helps.

My Hoover despite being 10kg in my opinion would never have been able to wash and spin such a duvet because it is very sensitive with the balance of the spin. She wouldn’t be able to wash a duvet like that just because he wouldn’t fit, barely fit a single duvet or a light king size blanket. The nice thing though is that she also makes me high water levels during rinses

The drum looks absolutely small for the duvet you was trying to wash. To wash double duvet you need at least an 6 to 7 or 8kg drum. To wash anything larger than that e.g kings or super kings duvets you need an 9 to 10 or 11kg or above.
The duvet trying to be washed was on wrong cycle for starters, it wasn’t rolled into a sausage shape ball to make it evenly around the drum and won’t shake as much when spinning, you can’t just stuff in a duvet, just like that. This when is wet adds more extra weight knowing the duvet is heavy as it is. Adding more water halfway level towards drum makes it excessively heavy. Cashing it an issue for when it then comes to draining out the water or spinning. To hence why 10 rinses of yours failed. Because it was simply too heavy. (In this case don’t constantly keep adding more water, instead drain and spin multiple times to ensure all the water is out the duvet). When it comes towards the end of programme or cycle you don’t want the duvet really damp.
When I wash duvets I have to spin it several times to really rinse out the water from the duvet. Because don’t forget it’s an absolute heavy item once washed. You don’t want an damp end results, as when it comes to drying it takes ages to air dry. To cut drying in half you really want to get out as much water as possible. Not only that If you want it to smell fresh then add conditioner right at the end of the cycle not during the beginning or middle of the cycle. Near towards the end to get best results.
People think that adding conditioner at the start of the cycle or middle, clothes will come out fresh. It doesn’t because the conditioner gets rinsed out during multiple rinses during the cycle and multiple water rinses. If you do it near towards the end or add an extra rinse and then add Lenor or conditioner and then spin. You’ll see the differences 👍👍👍….
My clothes comes out smelling perfect without no issues, you also have to follow clothing guidelines and temperatures and knowing what colours and clothing to mix and what stuff to put in the machine at the right times. Never put in detergent or conditioner or stain removers etc whilst the machine is adding water to cycle. As you will never know how much you’ve actually put in, and then you’ll end up adding extra which will make the drum excessively soapy, which will ruin the drum and machine altogether. You do this all beforehand, before starting the cycle. You’ll thank me later lol 😂.
