I'm working on making a more competitive deck. I am having fun making the deck but I don't really think the people I'll eventually be playomg against will have fun with it, lol. So I'm gonma make a second more playful deck, still strong cause Zaxara's just a beats, but a lot more playful and less win ASAP oriented.
How does Chord of Calling and Green Sun Zenith work with X costing Hydras? Like you can bring them from your library to the battlefield but how many tokens are they gonna have?
Hello! Great question, I think I can clear that up! Zaxara only activates when you cast a spell with X in its mana cost, so Chord of Calling and Green Sun’s Zenith will trigger Zaxara’s ability and make X/X tokens. The creature entering the battlefield from the spell does not trigger Zaxara because you are not casting it. Plus, getting an X costing hydra will most likely result in a creature with 0 toughness (since X would be 0) so most likely you’ll want to tutor creatures that don’t have X in their mana cost anyways. Hope that helps!
Infinite mana. Put 1000 into Green Sun's Zenith. Tutor Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord into play and make a 1000/1000 Hydra. Activate Jarad and throw the Hydra at your opponents. If anyone tells me they have never wanted to fling a hydra at three people for lethal, they are lying.

Walking ballista is a clear win-con as well. Dump infinite mana into it and wipe the table. That's the easiest one I can think of.

So, I made it. I got a pile of left over cards form my competitive deck and threw together all my favorite cards. It's still good and fun!

Rishkar's expertise is a nonbow with all of your X cards, there are cheaper ways to draw cards. Hunter's insight I believe works.

You build a hydra tribal not a x spell! X spell only includes X spells and creates hydras with commander in play!
