Ahhh Lisa Dwan...such a crush on her as a kid...Deidre was just gorgeous....still is. And I still have a HUGE crush to this day. Makes my heart melt.
You're not the only one who misses seeing Deirdre in this show.
If she ever makes an appearance at a con....I might have a heart attack the second I meet her.
No doubt that fans will have her say her lines there.
She gave lots of younger and older boys heart flutter I guess

The memories of watching this show in 3rd grade are coming back to me now. I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I had a crush on Princess Deirdre back in the day.
And nowadays I got a crush on Queen Maeve. 😳

This show used to run on SuperRTL on German TV in the early 2000s. The German dub was full of hilarious anachronisms, which made the funny scenes absolutely hysterical 😂 I also remember having quite a crush on Rohan... It would appear I had good taste even then 😏

Lochlain who played Rohan was also in an Irish tv show called Ros na Run on TG4 here in Irel South.He ran the local restaurant in the town .
This series helped me to understand true values, morals and principles that I use to this day as an adult.
I binged watched this on St. Patrick's Day & now I want an updated version of more Irish mythological magical shows 🍀🇮🇪🎉 💚❤🎉🇮🇪🍀
God I wish that Mystic Knights of tir na nog was on Netflix.

The thing that pissed me off was that a second season was teased at the end of the show with a cliffhanger...but it got cancelled!! :/

You know somebody who worked with in creating the Mystic Knights actually posted on a fan-based website tells the back ground story of the second season it turns out that the queen from the first season returns with an Army Of Monsters And also alongside her was a 6 evil Mystic Knight The Mystic Knight of Darkness it turns out there was a second Scroll of Destiny one that propels of a dark Destiny for this Warrior who discovered the dark armor and the Mystic sword of shadow which allowed him to tame a two headed thunder dragon and unlock the power of the battle Thunder an armor that can combine mystical animals with the magical armor granny them incredible power so the Mystic Knights had to find their own battle Thunder Power to combine with mystical animals themselves the faceoff this new threat

Deirdre is a fantastic character, but I do wonder why her armor is as it is. It doesn't give her that much protection.
+mysteryperson1976 she's an archer. they don't need to have lots of armor. basically, if she's fighting long range, she can move much faster than with a full suit of armor if she's caught out.
More like she's a hot girl and we wouldn't have wanted to see her all covered in armor

Yep ,Ned Dennehy who was Queen Maeves magic fella ,was in a good few Irish dramas ,Stephen Brennan who played The King is a regular Theatre actor at The Abbey theatre and I think he was in plys at The Gate theatre too

Talking to some Irish friends in college I found out this show was way more popular over there (and Germany oddly enough). It's a bit of a shame they didn't opt to keep it going as it really felt like they had something going with it and with so much already built more seasons would've been cheaper than the first.
Prince Ivar( Justin Pierre) , was sooo cute to me as a young girl. Now as a grown woman, Justin can get it. I'd make sure there was plenty of water around him😏😏😉
I thought I was the only one to think so!!!! He stood out to me a kid, and now I know why 😉

teamsteed1: I agree. This show had more potential for interesting arcs compared to beetleborgs and power rangers. To me it was better then both of them.
Same. Never got really into Power Rangers that much, but I always loved Mystic Knights and still do. The evil Mystic Knight would have been interesting to see...
Highretrogamelord: I loved Power Rangers and Beetleborgs but Mystic Knights always had something extra special that Power Rangers and Beetleborgs never had, such as folklore based on real Irish mythology. It was like watching friendly cheesy style of Lord Of The Rings and Game Of Thrones into one series. My favorite characters were Ivar and Angus. Angus always had a great sense of humor, even in the most serious of situations and it was also cool to see a knight of color with a thick British accent for the first time on T.V. like Ivar with the best armor and weapon, very rare and fascinating at the same time.
Highretrogamelord it's funny how often Saban was his own competition! beetleborgs was beating PR and Mystic Knights got screwed over by PR and VR Troopers lost JDF to power rangers XD

Except not really, cuz the merchandizing didn't sell and PR: Lost Galaxy was on the horizon, also Saban didn't know what the heck they were doing with it. (even though the answer was basically in their faces- toned down ensemble version of Hercules based in Celtic mythology!). Research: It's not that hard.
I remember watching when the evil mystic Knight was Forest.
The thing was they were trying to really telll a decent story. Sad it didnt get a budget that xena etc had. This would have made it but kids didnt want a story story.
I love this mystic knights awesome!
Mystic Knights and Masked Rider were both really great.

Halfway true. He cancelled this series in order to fit the budget into PR Lost Galaxy's special effects.
If anyone knows what the store vintage stock is you should go there they have a lot of old toys at least in okc some stuff I found there I had when I was 5-8 it's a good nostalgia trip
I miss Fox Kids. If I had three wishes, one would be to bring this, Kids WB, and the other blocks back.

Crazy me and my cousins used to watch this after school everyday and hey don't remember it for shit. I still got the red knights( forgot his name)toy and my son plays with it now
I would have loved to see more of this show. But at least the funding went to Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, which is an excellent season.

Now that's real feminism and diversity without being on the nose about it. Classics are the awesomest.

Seems like a lifetime ago. I know they mentioned a second second but was cancelled at the last moment, it could have been as greater as Power Rangers.
This show had so much potential, but they gave up on it after one season
My guess is the show didn't get high enough ratings for Fox Kids to allow Saban to make a second season. Then again, a lot of shows that debut the same year with Mystic Knights (like Secret Files Of The Spy Dogs, Mad Jack The Pirate, Young Hercules, and Oggy And Cockroaches) that, while some had potential, they were all cancelled in favor of newer stuff (as the next season would see Digimon debut, and the result being anime being a part of the lineup alongside other shows that would sadly become one season wonders themselves.
Rohan here somehow reminds me of John Snow. lol

yeah, the AI was bad, just like in Beetleborgs and in the Power Rangers Movie, but hé, it was the 90's and the 00's working with computers was new!

Uhhh, I loved the Mystic Knights in my youth, so cool to see some Behind-the-scenes-scenes.^^ I only wished they would not have taken themselves and the series so seriously, because most of the plots have really been a bit... clumsy. Even for the 90s. ;)
