- The news feeds have been full of new lightweight e-bike launches recently, and we've been guilty of getting carried along by the hype, losing sight of the fact that many of these models are demanding serious coin.
So when Canyon introduced the Neuron:ONFly CF7 recently, with a Carbon frame, Bosch SX motor, and sub-£5k price tag, we knew we had to swing a leg over it and see whether it was a bargain bullet or a flawed failure.
We also snagged a high priced CF9 model with which to compare and contrast, riding the same trails. So does the Neuron:ONFly represent a welcome lowering of the threshold into the lightweight market, or do you still need to spend over £5k to get a true minimalist experience? Watch the video to find out.
Bikes featured:
Canyon Neuron:ONFly CF7 £4,649 | Actual weight: 20.34kg, size L
Canyon Neuron:ONFly CF9 £6,699 | Actual weight: 20.10kg, size XL

How about that aluminum 19 kg Orbea? It undercuts this Canyon by quite a bit. A 2023 model, which is still in the stores, retails for 3500 GBP...
True but it’s the old model and on sale, so not quite the same thing.
You guys finally got your hands on some BBC archive FX hardware, that 'Rentaghost' bike arrival was superb.
😂
These bikes are in a serious need of of a price crash. They should cost half what I do right now, new.
If people keep paying they’ll keep charging
I also want to buy a car for a penny but you can keep dreaming on.
The reality is you’ll find it pretty much impossible to find a carbon mountain bike for £2.3k, let alone one with a motor and battery.
@@MBRmagazine How do you guys feel about the prices.
@@Pienimusta You can, but you just need to buy used and a non EV.
The should've called it Canyon Euron Greyjoy
However, I do feel that a firm handshake and good solid eye contact between you both will really make the moment before you drop in.
How do both forks compare in normal trail riding and touring?
Can normal people feel the difference?
And the most important question is: what's the actual weight of each model?
The actual weights are in the description 👍
Fact that they cheap out on wheels for us market and did not put in DT 1700 is reason Im going to buy other bike
The worlds most affordable electric moped 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not even close to being as moped
Only idiots think that emtbs are mopeds
@@robp6021oh yes it is are you one of the slobs that ride one 🤣🤣🤣
@@robp6021slobs mopeds
Let's see if that Bosch motor is still working in 3 years time...
Right. Right.
I take the Orbea RISE H20 over that
I hear Orbea Riz has all kinds of linkage and shock breakage problems, and the warranty is awful
@@davewallace9048 I have had no problem with them
VOX.
E bikes will stay elitist until prices get to 1/3 of what they are now. Expect more manufacturers to go bust before then.
Do you really think £1,500 is a realistic price for a full-suspension ebike? Let alone one with a decent spec and carbon frame?
@@MBRmagazine Yes.
I cant understand Canyon naming. This exact bike was advertised by Lebron James.
Why on earth is the Strive:ON naming not used here ?
Lebron Slogan: Strive for Greatness.
Strive:On is longer travel and an Enduro bike. Spectral is the aggressive trail bike family, Neuron is shorter travel and a little more XC in bias. But yeah, adding the Fly suffix seems pretty clumsy
@@MBRmagazine Lebron advertises the Neuron. But he should be behind the Strive model.
Ah, right, got it.
Orbea rise is cheaper, do better research 😉
Cheapest Orbea Rise in the UK is £4999 SRP actually.
@@MBRmagazine 3500 GBP is the 2023 model...
Yes, true but the MY25 model is already out. Whereas the Canyon is a 2025 model.
@@MBRmagazine New isn't always better. The 2023 Trek exe 9.5 is currently £4800.
We didn’t say it was. We’re just pointing out that it’s not apples to apples.
guys... the fist pump.... you are not from california... trying too hard to be cool.... hahah
Sorry, we’ll shake hands next time! 😂
@@MBRmagazine well done. almost as bad as saying stocked
Or even “stoked”
@@MBRmagazine Stocked is the British variant of this all encompassing feel good cover all word....
@@alexbiketester It's not tho. Those two words have completely different meanings.. In both the British and American language.
What is the fork size?
35mm chassis on the PIke. 140mm travel.
@@MBRmagazine is it can changed 160travel size fork?
No, Pike is only approved up to 140mm travel.
£1500 for a riding holiday ? We shouldn’t be flying anyway, we have a planet to save. Or is that a local holiday ?
I mean it’s only a hypothetical. And there are things called trains.
Good luck travelling on a train with a bike in the uk
Book in advance on the site of the train company you’re travelling with 😉
A Pike on that Panzer is pure Hühnerfutter!
