The Venza really is the hidden gem of Toyota's range. Lexus build quality, smooth & quiet ride, conventional instruments and controls, fantastic mileage, practical without being too big. Get the base LE trim, for the best value.
my wife has 2021 LE in blue. It comes with plenty of standard features such as power liftgate and kick sensor. Those 2 alone are options on my Lexus ES!
Hey Scotty.. I own a 2021 Hybrid Venza AWD as I live in snow country. I traded in my 2011 Venza AWD that had only 98,000 miles on it. which I bought new. Never any issues, just normal regular maintenance. Loved my old Venza it was one of my favorite cars of all time. I was second guessing myself over the Hybrid Venza but your video put my mind at ease. We took it on a 1200 mile road trip and the car flew down the highway, quiet & smooth ride. great gas mileage. Plenty of power for passing lanes. The only gripe is the interior is not as roomy as my old model. Toyota removed some of the side pockets on the passenger side . The center console is way smaller and the glove box is really small. If the sun shines on computer screen forget it. I prefer the Iphone GPS to the car GPS maybe its a programming thing that I haven't figured out just yet. Thank you for this video. Oh, I'm that old lady you always talk about in your videos who you would want to buy a used car from..LOL..
We have a 2010 Toyota Venza, purchased in 2012 with 15k miles; it now has 159k miles and runs like a top!! The 6 cylinder is the best, very fast, getting 21 mpg in the city, comfortable and very roomy. We are seniors, the best car we've ever owned!
Venza is Toyota's best kept secret - it's a Lexus, with a Toyota price. The build is fantastic and it is a very solid car and can perform. I have been loving mine!
I like the old Venzas better. I have a 2011 XLE V6. Just hitting 100,000 miles. Currently on vacation with it in Florida. Drove down from Ohio. Nice power, great ride, nice styling. I also have a 2013 RX 350, and I prefer driving the Venza on longer trips.
dewdew, I just bought a 2015 Venza LE, 2.7 i4, FWD, 100K miles. A comparably equipped RAV-4 of the same year, trim level, and mileage was going for $5000 more (around here anyway: Indy) 🤷🏻♂️
@@billbrimmer7047 that’s good to know! I bought mine as a retirement vehicle, and I can do the work on it myself…at least try to keep it out of the shop. I’m thinking if I drive it conservatively and keep up with the maintenance, who knows how long it’ll last?
We have 2 of them. A 2021 and a 2022. We love both of them. I’m get 44-45 mpg with it! It has great acceleration in sport mode. But very good gas mileage in eco mode.
I had a Mercedes GLC, then a Lexus RX. The Mercedes was in the shop too much for a new vehicle, but I loved the style. This is the Toyota version of the GLC with reliability. Going to order this when my RX lease is up 😁
We love our 2022 Venza. It's been to national parks right next to the Rav 4's. I might say it shares more with the Rav 4 than Camry but definitely see what you mean Scotty!
Yes that flowers and turmeric part of prayer done by temple priests so to have auspicious for new or used car to eliminate bad omen just part of the traditions when any new thing is arrived at home so family is safe and sound
The name “Venza” for a Japanese car has cracked me up for as long as this car has been around. The letter “V” doesn’t exist in the Japanese language. When a foreign word (English, Euro, Chinese, etc.) with the letter “V” in it is translated into Japanese, the letter is pronounced as the letter “B” so Venza would be pronounced as “Benza” in Japan. Benza means toilet seat in Japanese.
Venzas are nice cars, I've been toying with the idea of maybe getting one. I wish my local Toyota dealers had more of them in stock, especially ones in LE trim, and more colors besides black, white, and dark gray.
I would find the older ones. This one on video seems like a waste also the battery too much money 4 nothing. These venza were in competition to Lexus they were running 35k but it was new & it looked like a wagon. It Wasn't selling well in the US but Canada kept selling them. Many people missed out.
The lane keeping assist didn't work the second time because the car didn't recognize the lines on the side/middle of the road so the car had nothing to follow in that break.
45mpg for an SUV that size is pretty damn insane. I hear the new Rav4's hybrids get pretty much the same mpg which explains why there are so many of them on the road.
This was my loaner car for 3 days, loved it. I travel a decent distance for work and this did fantastic on gas. The drive was responsive and smooth. I would have loved to get this one.
I used to have a 2010 Venza AWD V6 glass roof it was fully loaded and had it for almost 8 years I did plenty of roads trips like we drove across the country from NY to SF back in 2013 plus went to Burning Man event camping ⛺ in the desert and winter of 2017 we down to Florida Al the way Keys West, Fl to the end of the road southernmost point 😎
I'm collecting mine tomorrow. Imported from Japan staghtline 2.0, no turbo. I currently drive a 2017 X5 plug in hybrid. Will share my experience in a weeks time.
Those safety systems assist the driver, not drive the car by itself. I've seen on my 2018 Corolla that if you take your hands off the wheel or too low, a warning message will pop-up to put your hands back on
I have a 2010 Lexus RX450h with 310,000 km so far. It has a CVT “non shifting” transmission. It is ultra smooth and still gets about 8.5 l per 100 km (as good as 28. Mpg). We also have 2022 Sante Fe hybrid with a 6 speed traditional transmission. The CVT is a much better choice for a hybrid.
Good call on diesel truck for towing, now you have to decide what diesel truck you want to buy. Scotty should do a video for diesel pickup trucks and then compare which are better for longevity and low maintenance costs.
I have an 07 Camry hybrid still runs original battery only ever did tires and oil changes. Gets good gas mileage. The cost to replace the battery pack keeps going down. Life is good.
I like the original Venza that was shipping around 2012. At the time, it looked like the most prestigious cross over and it was not even a Lexus. They turned out to be over engineered vehicles that lasted forever.
I love my 2009 Venza V6. It has been trouble free since I bought it. I was sorry to see that they discontinued the V6 option as I would have purchased another one. I'm not sure I would have been happy with a V4.
@@steveo4749I just bought a 2015 Venza LE…2.7L i4, FWD. yeah it’s not the 6 cyl, but for my driving style, the 4 cyl will crank at 90 mph and only feel like 60 mph. 🤷🏻♂️
I have a 2013 Venza 4-cyl with 110k miles. It's been an outstanding trouble-free car for over 10 years. I kind of want something new, but I haven't quite found anything I think I'd like better, other than a Lexus, and I don't like the price! Not sure about the new Venza with poorer visibility, small trunk, and noise. Not to mention they are still hard to get and I refuse to pay above msrp.
Ive been keeping my eye on older Venzas since hearing Scotty praise them but MAN do they hold value. (which in turn must mean they are valuable) but still in my area $18,000 range for a 10 year old toyota with 100k+ miles is too much for me.
This car is different from the previous Venza. This Venza used to be sold in North America until 2008 as the Lexus RX. It's called the Toyota Harrier in Asia.
My GF bought rav4’s forever, I saw the venza in the showroom this time and suggested it to her, we took delivery this week nightshade edition ruby… as an M5 owner I’m extremely impressed by the looks, build and ride quality of the Toyota, with 40 mpg it’s probably the best suv you can get imo
Id like you to review the new toyota corolla cross hybrid. Its getting the new more powerful hybrid drivetrain from the Rav4/new Prius. Supposed to get high 40s/low 50 mpg. I think its intriguing because its like a little station wagon but smaller than most modern bloated crossovers SUVs. Reminds me of the old Prius V, a very very practical car and ideal size/space/performance ratio.
My understanding is that the Venza is more like an SUV version of the Corolla and that the Highlander is like an SUV version of the Camry. The Venza seems very over priced and cramped on the inside to me. All of the the above are based on the TNGA-K platform. I would compare the Venza to the RAV4 or the Honda CR-V which is like an SUV version of the Civic, but certainly not to the Camry which is a much longer car
Toyota Lexus....Lexus Toyota the most reliable vehicles ever made period. Just purchased a 2018 Toyota 4Runner and I love it! My last vehicle was also a Toyota 4Runner and it had 323,000 miles! It was time, Lol! Listen to Scotty!
From the inside this looks very similar to my 2022 Toyota RAV4 AWD Hybrid. My RAV4 Hybrid is made in Japan.....I believe the Toyota Venza is made in the same factory in Japan and mechanically it's the same as the RAV4 Hybrid. My 2022 RAV4 Hybrid has a perfect build quality with no issues so far. 👍👍
I was hoping to see the space in the back with the seats down. Could I transport a desk or similar piece of furniture in the back with the backs seats down? This is a common scenario buying a piece of furniture or moving the last few pieces in a move. This is one of my favorite things about having an SUV.
They have problem with the center console not closing and you have to replace the whole center console assembly. They also have recall for the rear turn signal
I like the way they look, however I cannot get over the idea that Rav4s are cheaper and more roomy, specially in the backseat and the cargo area. But I do like the Venza interior Lexus-style. But since Rav4s are more roomy and cheaper, heck, I got a Rav4 hybrid.
Yeah and 4av 4 loud as heck, the sound deadening way better in venza, the venza is the harrier which is the Lexus 350 in Japan...rav 4 is the target Walmart version 9f the venza
I just bought a new Toyota Venza and enjoy it very much. I wanted to purchase a fully electric car but turned to a hybrid due to high prices and concerns about battery repair costs for EVs. I was also considering Lexus but the comfort and quality of Venza are very close to Lexus and the price is more affordable.
I recently purchased a Venza '21 LE with 44kmi.. The car is great overall, however, I noticed post-purchase that whenever I was backing up and applying the break an obvious mechanical clicking noise was heard. I took the car to T-Service and was told there was an issue with "spacers" and they ordered a "spacer kit"?? Does this sound right?
I'm pretty sure lane assist works by the car sensing the painted lane solid or dotted lines. If there are no painted lines it won't kick it (neighborhood road etc). That's why it didnt "steer" on that curve by the tree because there wasn't a line on the right. (It's not really meant to steer you, just gradually push the vehicle back in the lane so it doesn't drift too far the wrong way)
My son wants to sell his 2010 Toyota AWD and buy a new one. I’m going to have him consider buying this new Toyota AWD Venza. 45mpg, good handling and zippy is awesome!
Subaru might have been the first car sold in the USA with a CVT. They put it in their Justy, the least powerful car in their lineup, back in 1987! Anyway, they've had a lot more time to perfect it.
Hello, a question, do you know if Toyota made cars with classic engines, for example 2.0l , very noisy at transmision, just so that people would buy the hybrid versions that are not as noisy?

Not true. Naturally aspirated engines are more reliable
@@stevesmith756 better longevity no hybrid batteries or generator to fail definitely better in the long run especially second hand.
I like the way they look, however I cannot get over the idea that Rav4s are cheaper and more roomy, specially in the backseat and the cargo area. But I do like the Venza interior Lexus-style. But since Rav4s are more roomy and cheaper, heck, I got a Rav4 hybrid.
If your gonna have backseat passenger get a venza. The rav4 rear is more roomy on paper but the belt line makes it feel claustrophobic and cave like.
Yeah and 4av 4 loud as heck, the sound deadening way better in venza, the venza is the harrier which is the Lexus 350 in Japan...rav 4 is the target Walmart version 9f the venza
great video. thanka for video?
Scotty the Venda aka the hairier in Japan is based on the Lexus RX platform not Camry good sir ! Great video tho
Darn, you didn’t catch that green rabbit @7:32 !!
I like the Venza also, now they need to bring back the Crosstour.
Scotty.. I keep telling you.... It's a HYBRID ! NOT a Hybread !
I bought one sligtly used. It did come upgraded with Taco John's fart smears. All of that good stuff!!
That ecvt will last over 300,000 miles Scotty with no issues. It’s not a real cvt. It uses planetary gear set and magnetism
love the jeans on jeans outfit!
😀My Forester 2020 Limited drives itself when I set the adaptive cruising control both hands off, LOL.
The Highlander is good as well.
This is a fantastic vehicle...one of my friends has this vehicle and it feels like a luxury vehicle macerating as a normal vehicle
Looking at getting a Nightshade version of the Venza. Getting out of a 19 Tundra SR5.
Scotty must have a Toyota museum at this point.
In your opinion, which car has better reliability, a Nissan 370z or a Toyota 86?
86
370z has gallery gasket issue because the OEM gasket is made out of cardboard, and very expensive parts.
Bring back wagons to the NA market! Asia has access to the wagon version of the accord, and Mazda 6 and they're BEAUTIFUL
I'm pretty sure lane assist works by the car sensing the painted lane solid or dotted lines. If there are no painted lines it won't kick it (neighborhood road etc). That's why it didnt "steer" on that curve by the tree because there wasn't a line on the right. (It's not really meant to steer you, just gradually push the vehicle back in the lane so it doesn't drift too far the wrong way)
Hi friend could you review the new Nissan Rogue please.
My son wants to sell his 2010 Toyota AWD and buy a new one. I’m going to have him consider buying this new Toyota AWD Venza. 45mpg, good handling and zippy is awesome!
Venza should have been mid size crossover but failed to do so hence makes rav4 even more enticing.
Can you get a trailer hitch for these? Not to pull a trailer but for a Reese 2" bike rack. TIA
Excellent
“The Angels are coming to get you” HILARIOUS 😂🤣
2:42 - What a kook you are, Scotty! Just one of the many reasons why I love watching your videos ✌
Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel
Subaru might have been the first car sold in the USA with a CVT. They put it in their Justy, the least powerful car in their lineup, back in 1987! Anyway, they've had a lot more time to perfect it.
Correct
That cvt isn’t going to last 300,000 miles like the Toyota ecvt. They don’t brake and technically aren’t cvts
@@fallguy4209 Toyota *is* known for making the best CVTs, especially from 2018 and up. However, that's kind of like having the best smelling turd!
Hello from the UK scotty 😀
Hey!
Yes Scotty! I love my Toyota Tundra crewmax limited 💪 on my way to the million miles Tundra club 😎
Can you make a video to explain the Toyota Venza hybrid model, and is it worth buying the new model/year?
You can hear that tree go
"Scotty!! Stop playing!!!"
Hey Scott Ram truck vs Ford Super Duty what’s your advice for me
Hello, a question, do you know if Toyota made cars with classic engines, for example 2.0l , very noisy at transmision, just so that people would buy the hybrid versions that are not as noisy?
