Watching Ayo made everybody from Chicago feel like a proud father 😂😂😂 he exceeded every expectation and meant every word on draft night love his heart ❤️
@@IlovetreesAlot just because you don’t have many accolades doesn’t mean you can’t be a really good and skilled player. Zo and Caruso are great 2-way players
CHIIIII-TOWWWWWWN!!!! Loved his play this season he never gave up on anything! Hopefully we get the extra depth needed to help Ayo & Caruso off the bench
Love this kid so much!!! So much heart an he WANTS TO PLAY DEFENSE. He is part of our future as well as Paw, D-bow, Zach, we gotta build off those guys an vooch is a good start but we need a shot blocker!
kid is incredibly 'heady' for a rookie. Plays like a 5 year veteran starter. Great court vision, energy, and a very willing passer. Chicago picked up a future All-Star with this pick.
I'll never forget waking up in the middle of the night to check Twitter to see who we drafted and I damn near jumped out my apartment window with excitement when I read the Bulls got Ayo. I thought for sure he would've been gone somewhere late first. Bulls got a helluva steal.
ayo clearly plays to win. I honestly feel confident that he'd make the right decisions every time he has the ball on his hands. such IQ and defensive abilities for our rook.
My first ever Bulls game at the United Center was Ayos first career start (December against Denver Nuggets) and he went off. I know hes gonna be special
The Bulls Basically Have 2 options, sticking and try to improve its roster to compete for a chip, specially with derozan and lavin and vucevic still with the team, and added drummond and dragic, and at the sametime if it fails they still have option #2 which is they already have Ayo,Terry and Pat Will as the teams futures.
So beyond happy to be able to continue watching him in the home state. Didn’t miss a single Illini game and can’t wait to not miss a bulls game. Keep grinding Ayo!!!
What I like about him is that he can hit bit shots, come up big defensively, and pass the ball to open teammates for easy shots. He definitely learned to lead as a Fighting Illini, and he has shown his greatness in his rookie year. He is the epitome of a player who is willing to do "whatever it takes to win the game". And I think he would play the same way even if he's starting or coming off the bench. And I'm glad that he is on the Bulls.
@@ShaunZachary Glad you agree. I have been trying to remember other second round picks the Bulls have had. I cannot think of one that was as good as Ayo. [Butler was one pick away from being a second round pick, but he was first round, so he doesn't count.] Can you think a better 2nd round pick the Bulls EVER had??
Ayo is my rookie of the year because he had off the chart stats playing behind other stars. He proved how you play within a team as a rookie. Most rookies can't do what Ayo did and he is a sponge.
@@suavelleadams5097 I actually like him next to Zo. They have great chemistry. He's the only 1 I've seen since the Lakers days to throw an alley oop to Zo. You need another passer to utilize Zo to the max. Most never utilize Zo's ability to move without the ball.
Ayo knows 2 way is the only way. He is a fast and attentive learner and goes the extra mile putting in the hard work. IMO, being a great teammate is the ultimate accolade.
Feel like Ayo Dosunmu is kinda flying under the radar this offseason with all the attention around Zach Lavine, DeRozan, PWill, Dalen Terry, etc. He could be in for a big season building off of how well he played in his rookie year. Plus... we'll need him if Lonzo isn't ready
As a Univ. of Illinoins basketball fan I was so confused how he didn't go in the top 20... He led Illinois to a no. 3 overall ranking and shredded defenses with his pass and slash... wthell were NBA franchises thinking?
And I've always thought great hands are among the most important attributes to make a star player because you can do so much with the ball in terms of defense, passing, and fining difficult layups. Ayo Dosunmu has hall-of-fame level hands. All he needs is reps and he can affect every aspect of a game as a high-impact role player or quality starter on a competitor. SN: Stacey King is still the worst homer in NBA history lol, tho the point where I have to mute Bulls highlights so I don't have to hear his 1997 catchphrases (e.g "Like Zach, if I could be like Zach.") The homage to MJ was worth a chuckle the first time, like 4,792 instances ago.
You watch this video and you know exactly 💯 what A.K.M.E. is looking for. 6'6-7 height, long wingspan-6'10-7'2, fast and can play 1-4 seamlessly. Pass, defend, run and shoot. Dalen Terry, Caruso, P.W., Ayo, Zach, D .D. They want four Scottie Pippens.
All those teams passed on him because he was an older player. Forget that he won the award for best guard in college. Forget that he got better every year in college. Who needs a good sized combo guard (an actual combo guard, not an undersized shooting guard) with long arms who's a little good at everything, even if he's not great at any single thing?
@@trinbaker993 I do not wish ill on Zo I think he's the man but he hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy so I see Ayo starting like 30% of the games over the next 3 years. Hell he started half of this year.
@@realMDizzy Zo's problem is every team he plays for is poor defensively and he is running around trying to compensate for a poor defensive team, which is the reason I wanted him on the Celtics. The Bulls had him guarding Julius Randle and other bigs at times. He will never stay healthy trying to cover the entire floor defensively to compensate for a poor defensive team. This is the reason I wanted him to play for his first defensive team, the Celtics. Can you imagine Zo, Tatum, Jalen, Horford, Smart, and Williams? That's a defensive team. Zo is constantly on poor defensive teams with the Lakers and the Pelicans, both poor defensively when he was there. It's nice to have a guard who can have 1 block and 2 steals a game but at what cost? That block he had when he and Ayo blocked that Detroit player at the rim was insane but that came from poor defensive coverage at the power forward and center positions. Zo leaped so high to block that shot. Those add up to injuries. This is the reason I wanted him on the Celtics and still do. Both Jalen and Tatum are good defensively. You have Williams who is the shot blocking big. On that team, Zo could be Zo and not have to makeup for every one's mistakes defensively. When Zo picked the Bulls, I said he will stay hurt on this team because it's the same as the Pels and Lakers teams he's played on, poor defenders with him trying to cover the entire court.
@@ballguy1509 I noticed that too and completely agree with you. They even made Caruso guard 4s and 5s. Part of that was Pat missing almost the entire year in addition to just being overall too small of a team. My dream for this draft is to get Mark Williams but I doubt he will be there unless we move up. If the Bulls make some tweaks we should be able to alleviate his load, but as we were constructed this year wasn’t good for Zo’s body.
Besides showing Ayo, these clips also showed why we missed Lonzo and Caruso. If Lonzo & Caruso had been injured, this last year would have been so much better.
In a redraft he's easily a top 10 pick
Watching Ayo made everybody from Chicago feel like a proud father 😂😂😂 he exceeded every expectation and meant every word on draft night love his heart ❤️
Playin behind Zo and playin with Alex is going to end up making him one of the best two-way guards in the league.
