Roman Reigns is a good wrestler, but idiot marks boo him because they would rather a cruiserweight or a short fat guy was champion or a top guy rather than him. WWE isn’t just about talent it’s about your look. During the attitude era the biggest stars were all big guys and nobody questioned that, it’s just the way it was. Xpac was lightweight (cruiserweight) champion and he was over 6ft and 220lbs. Now the modern era has come people think anyone should be a main guy. That’s not how it works. Sure you get the odd one in a million guys like Eddie, AJ and Jericho, but wwe today is marketed for kids and they see guys who are real life superhero’s as who they want portraying their image. I’m not saying smaller guys aren’t talented, in fact they’re probably more talented with in ring ability, but they don’t have the look or the gimmicks, and that’s just modern wwe. If you hate it so much stick to watching indies and new japan that focus more on long boring technical matches and obvious spots.
Gary Murphy Roman has the look and the work ethic. The problem is that he is a poorly written character and fans can show their disdain for that character being written poorly. I don't agree with booing him, because a negative reaction is better than no reaction especially in this business. Kenny Omega has it all and he comes across so much more genuine than Roman does on the mic and in the ring. I'm completely fine with Roman being a top guy, but WWE is pushing him way too far. Even Cena didn't get this type of treatment.

In my opinion, being a wwe fan since wwf/wcw, a heel turn is what is really needed here. It saved the Rock's career, Stone Cold, and even Cena. Randy Orton was booked as both a face and a heel but mostly won everyone over as a heel. Reigns had the crowd over when he was the big bad ass in The Shield. Make him into that bad ass and watch the outcome. And for goodness sake, let him cut his own promos.

I think it would have been cool if Paul Heyman turned on Brock and cost him the title. Roman could turn heel and start a faction called "The Roman Empire." I think he uses that catchphrase already, but it would make more sense if it were the name of his heel faction. He would be a perfect heel champion.

Actually son, it's because Reigns didn't earn his push. He only got the rocket pack push because of his lineage to the Anoa'i family and affiliation to The Rock. Also the only reason fans even wanted Reigns to win the 2014 Royal Rumble over Batista was out of protest for Daniel Bryan not being in the Rumble match. See, Reigns is very bland and dull on the microphone. He has no personality. He also just doesn't seem likable or charming at all (unless you have a vagina or are easily impressionable). And compared to other wrestlers like Styles or Owens or Rollins to name a few, he is very underwhelming in the ring. At best, he is average. Plus, he has no character. No persona. His character has not evolved one bit since the Shield split up. Ambrose and Rollins flourished into their own identities and personas. But Reigns hasn't. He is still the very same character he was in the Shield. And that's another thing too. In the Shield, Dean and Seth both made up for Reigns' inexperience and how green he is. You see, both Dean and Seth have over 20 years of combined experience in the wrestling business. Reigns has only been wrestling for a few years. So Dean and Seth being the veterans they were, they were able to mask and hide Reigns' flaws and make up for his inexperience. Once the Shield split, Reigns no longer had anyone to cover his ass and his inexperience came to light. It became very clear just how inexperienced Reigns was and it turned a'lot of people off.
It's not so much that people hate Reigns but rather that his push REEKS of corporate stench. He is WWE's handpicked chosen one and everyone knows that WWE bosses picked Reigns. And they're basically giving him the Super Cena push that we have seen for over a decade in which Reigns CONSTANTLY overcomes the odds again and again. Vince McMahon basically wants to recreate John Cena in Roman Reigns. The only difference is that Cena naturally and organically got himself over. He did it on his own. Everything about Reigns' push is forced and artificial. None of it is organic or believable. Of course, fans want new stars to get invested in and get behind. But what WWE basically did is go "Ok, we pick this guy. Here ya go..." Fans don't want to be told who to cheer for. They don't want certain stars forced on them.
I'm sure none of that makes any sense to you but that is how a true wrestling fan thinks. We analyze things, critique them, study them, and appreciate the art behind it. Fans like you on the other hand just blindly follow and accept what Vince McMahon puts on your TV without even thinking about it. And when the facts are against you and you have been intellectually outgunned, insults and attacks are your only weapons left.
He is hated by smart marks that think they know something. They were the same people that made Roman the most popular person in the shield. You're the same idiots that cheered for fandango. He was a great talent! What's he doing now? Oh, yeah! Stupid skits. You want to see guys like Jeff Hardy pushed because he jumps off 20 ft ladders at a ppv and then is out for 6+ months because he injured himself again.

Manuel Ramos was the whole match that bad? Move wise it was lackluster but the whole of the match I liked. It made you question if it was real or not to an extent. It felt like a fight. And for that I enjoyed it. I don't like Roman but like i said I'm coming around

I've been a wrestling fan for 14 years, watched most major promotions, and... I just don't like Roman's promos and wrestling, although he improved on the latest over the years since the Shield broke up.
It's just my opinion, my own tastes, and I know that I enjoy Omega's work and character much more in comparison. I rarely enjoy Roman's work and character.

He really should stop talking about criticism and start doing something about it. I think he's got the ability to prove them wrong, but he became complacent. Yeah, I agree with you on Cena. I was referencing the fact that he was criticised for years about that. Then when he started trying new things he got respect, which is what Roman needs to do.
Roman was specifically asked about the criticism so of course he's going to talk about it. And he's not the Rock. He can't just go out and say whatever he wants and turn himself into a different character. He's receiving a lot of investment but he's still in a place where he can be replaced if he decides to complain about his booking. If you have a such problem with his presentation, go after the person that is actually deciding it.

Being there live, we as a crowd bonded together and made sure that by no means will there be a "polarizing" crowd with half boos and half cheers... We knew if we shit on the match, something would have to give.. We do know that it may have ruined it for the few, but will help the many. Casualty of war... But we were pissed at the main event a year in advance and we were not going to allow Vince to try and make this match into a "let's go Roman, Roman sucks" match... Unlike most audience's, we demanded our money's worth and we would not be muted nor go unnoticed... You're welcome
I hate his character and I hate his push but Roman Reigns as a wrestler is better than people give him credit for. WWE killed Roman’s character by bad booking but let’s be honest, he isn’t that bad when he’s allowed to actually WRESTLE
