Aeration is all about breaking the surface tension of the water. That is how oxygen enters the water. Microbubbles don't do anything under the water. The come to the surface and pop allowing oxygen to enter the water. The more bubbles you have the more oxygen.

I think it would be pretty cool if you made a plate and attached it to the bottom of the lid with recommended setting.
