I'd agree it should be C. Loads stratagems and unit abilities interact with the Cult Ambush markers in ways that now don't match their level of importance, given you can not-quite-deep-strike instead. The biggest thing for me is just how random it is that you get units back at all. It being entirely possible for your army rule to have no effect on the game if the dice go a certain way doesn't feel great! I could see the mechanic being changed to something more token based, so you had more control over which units come back when, and massaging the floor and ceiling for how much impact the mechanic can have.
Swap the Primus and Nexos rule for the CP I agree. Give the Nexos once per turn end of turn ability put a infantry unit back into reserves, doesn't have to be attached to the unit
I just started soul blight gravelords and it did not hit me till just now how much that would rock as the army rule for gsc. No more not having an army rule some games no more getting everything back the next.
Bring crossfire back with +1 hit +1 wound. Honestly I loved it in 9th and have a lot of very memorable moments from using it. Plus it wasnt super easy to accomplish but when you did it it really mattered
The Cult Ambush would be: At the beginning of every one of your Combat Rounds you can return ONE unit to the game up to X points OR reinforce a unit up to their starting numbers at the cost paid for the unit. From the beginning of your Combat Round 2 increase this amount by Y points every beginning of your Combat Round before returning the unit. Unless a unit is returned the option to do so is lost. This way it would be a choice for the opponent what to focus on. At the start of the game, it would be best to focus on the elite units since they would be unable to be reinforced or replaced, which would give them lots of units that could score VP, or focus on units which can score VP in return for being unable to properly manage elite units. This would give GSC an ability that could be predicted in effect while at the same time being reasonable.
Personally I think they should rerevise it back to how the index rules except that instead of the using blips they allow for a certain number of units to return each turn within a number of inch from a non lone op leader model. Thus representing more Genestealer cult fighter surging forth to protect the leaders. So yes you could have your primus hunkerd down in a ruin on your side of the board with an endless supply of warm bodies to protect him but you won't be scoring any points or you could move out but risk getting focus fire. What I think will happen is that all units will be allowed to respawn once and then they're dead for good
I will definitely give GSC a shot after the balance drops. I do like the army and love what I have, just Cult Ambush hurts so much when it doesn't happen.
I'm expecting A and points going back up, even though it needs C. I suspect the cleaned up rule was written at the same time as the points changes, and won't reflect the results of the points changes. Another round of points changes will be an emergency afterthought. I suspect the Miracle dice changes to the sister's will be the similar. The changes were written at the same time as the recent points changes, and now that the points changes have done the job, the changes to miracle dice will gut the army. The better answer would be for them to do nothing, as sisters are within the win/loss window, but they announced it, so we are getting the rework regardless of needing it or not.
As someone looking into GSC, I'm hoping C. And holding off actually playing them until the dataslate. Fortunately, I can get a ton going right away by borrowing the same theme as my CSM army: I have 80+ shooty Cultists, Rhinos without lids glued on (Razorbacks are the same size as Goliath Truck surprisingly), Goliath Gangers with Melee weapons (Aberrants), and Corpse-Grinder Cultists, that were converted to Heresy Militia Enforcers, but can be press-ganged into Acolytes/Metamorphs with another box. My only question now is, as my theme is AI-worshipping cult (same as my CSM cult army), do I make freakier/scarier Sicaran Ruststalkers for Genestealer stand-ins, or does the rebellion ally with Malstrain Genestealers? Or both?
Also im in fear they are going to make our army rule even worse and keep our points from october so my guess is option A even though it makes me deeply sad
I have been playing a few games against GSC players recently with my space marines (I am also a GSC player) and it was not fun. My opponents respawned everything in their army in turn 1 and 2 and almost half in t3. I once killed over 80 models and still the table was filled with cultist to the point the GSC players didnt even know where to put his cult ambush units. Having nearly all his army on the table every turn made the movement/shooting phase ridiculously long and it was an overall feel bad experience for both of us. For him, there was no tactical decision to make as he only had to push unit forward knowing there was more to come and for me, it felt useless to kill anything and I couldnt move. Game would probably have been better if I tailored my list to GSC but it was a tournament practice so I didnt get too much blast weapons. As a player, I dont want dice to decide if I lose or win, I want to be able to make decisions and the current state of the GSC put rolling 4/5+ the most important skill to win.
As someome who absolutely hates genestealer cults due to horrendous first impressions playing against them i just hope they get rolled into tyranids. Purely out of spite.

A rule generations in the balancing.
Yay more GSC content!

vampires have the best rules
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I've only gotten one full game in with them but they were a blast and spearhead has been great.
GW screwed up so much by overbuffing GSC points in October instead of just making the rules fun
10th seems to have a real problem with jail lists and a lot of it seems to be tied to units being way too cheap rather giving them good rules.
Bring crossfire back with +1 hit +1 wound. Honestly I loved it in 9th and have a lot of very memorable moments from using it. Plus it wasnt super easy to accomplish but when you did it it really mattered
This is the way. 10th edition killed the GSC identity and made them mindless hordes. We aren't playing zombies. We're playing insurrectionists
A flat out Return to the Shadows would be my wish for the army rule.
Congratulations to the winner!
C? Any reaction rule that had a chance of never happening is bad, agreed. It isn't hard to make the rolls improve each time you fail.

Please let this change. Ome with a points increase. I am building my GSC up right now and wow are they expensive
I will definitely give GSC a shot after the balance drops. I do like the army and love what I have, just Cult Ambush hurts so much when it doesn't happen.

Hoping for option C idk if it's the changes or what but it's gotten confusing and I just want to start over
C: I would love to see the rule instead be that GSC units can do actions and shoot, or after Advancing, etc.
I would really like C. I feel like there would be so much Potential.
I think your right on c, they just don't know what to do with rumen tbh lol
2:00 Yeah honestly I love the attention, no matter if half the time it's to nerf us into oblivion.
As someone looking into GSC, I'm hoping C. And holding off actually playing them until the dataslate.

C please I’d be completely fine with no more cult ambush in favor of a more consistent rule we can utilize
praying for c
Man I sure do hope games workshop prints a new book to show all the changes at the end of the edition
just in time for it to be replaced?
I don't think they will and I don't think many fans would want to buy it
@ I was under the impression that most likely 11th edition will be backwards compatible with 10th like earlier editions were
@@crsmith6226 it probably will be; in which case they won't reprint a fixed 10th edition codex but wait until the 11th ed GSC codex
Im going with C
B but I hope it is C
C, hopefully
A
But I'd rather just exclude the bikes from the rule all together.
I think C
I think it will be C, big rework
This is what happens wheb you give a faction an army rule rhqt is inbalancable.
I hope it's C.
C probably
Please be C please dear lord
I bet my money it will be a nerf.
I think they will make it weaker but more consistent so it's less units coming back but you'll know what when etc
C
10 man to 5 man? Awful.

To cosmically counterbalance this take, I hope all space marines and imperial armies get rolled into Agents of the Imperium.
@alexandrudorries3307 I second this I love agents of the imperium
