i remember that too. i used to watch his animations in elementary school. incredibly sad that he’s gone, but glad to see that his passion project is still alive and well.

The real reason tord decided to leave wasn’t Because of creative differences, but the fans constantly stalking and harassing him on social media. So he ask Edd to write him out of the show and in the episode, “25ft under the seat” Tord left the show with no explanation given, so that made so fan a little mad. And then Tord delete all of his social media’s and his youtube channel he was secretly using after he posted a video expressing his sadness for the death of Edd Gould and the real reason why he left eddsworld. Sorry for the long comment, but I hope I cleared everything up.
Honestly, I feel sad that I never get to experience Eddsworld before Edd's death. The type of content where the creators have fun with it and write the story as they go along is something that I absolutely love. I hope that I get to see those types of contents again but I think it will be harder to find as people in the future will more likely to see the internet as something to make end's meet rather than something to have fun with.
I mean if he was still here we would never be able to watch Eddsworld legacy’s and it would still be a very small community of fans, and the fans at the time of his death were somewhat very toxic.

Eddsworld and Edd Gould are the reasons I love animation so much. I wouldn't be attending college for animation and making my own stuff in my free time if it weren't for watching this series as a kid. I though it ended really well, and it feels a little bittersweet that it's coming back. I'm sure matt and the new team are going to do a great job, and I'm happy Edd's legacy still lives on. This series holds a really special place in my heart and I'm legitimately excited to see where it's heading. Fantastic vid as always DaftPina!

Im just saying: Tord didnt leave because of shipping. We dont EXACTLY know why Tord left other than he was being pestered in a way he didnt like, like OP Commenter says.

Dude, Edd's friends are literally the best he could ever have asked for. I love eddsworld, both the original, Tom's version, and Matt's new version. So thank you so, so much, Tom and Matt, for still creating the content. Edd inspired me to make animated videos, and I don't think I would've been the same if I'd never heard of him. Those three created my childhood, and for that, I am thankful.
I'm so happy that in 2008 my neighbor and I made it onto Edd's channel through their animation competition. Although it was only like 3 seconds in a montage, it was the first time I felt like I had ever had a piece of my art acknowledged by anybody on the internet. He was such an inspiration to my friends and I in the early days of RUclips / Newgrounds.

Then you have the fact that a lot of fan girls have a habit of fetishising gay men (in the exact same harmful way that straight men can fetishise gay women), so you have people making what amounts to organised sexual harassment against real life people, one of those people being dead. Imagine your best friend dies, and you continue writing the show. Then, to top it all off, you have people writing inappropriate content of you and your best friend who died. It's a genuinely disgusting situation to be involved with. No one is saying "fangirls are bad and cringy and by getting involved they ruin it", we're saying "fetishists made copious amounts of porn about a dead man and his friend, and that's disgusting".

i grew up with eddsworld. It was the first thing i ever saw on youtube and i am quite happy it was. Edd inspired me to draw,write stories and (try) to animate myself
i used to watch eddsworld and i remember just being a dumb kid, going home and binge watching episodes not even in order. those were the good days, and i wish edd's family my condolences. this video randomly popped up in my recommended , and it gave me a flow of nostalgia so thank you for making this video.

I grew up watching Eddsworld, and watching this video made me realise just how much of an impact it had on my life. As of 2021 I'll be in my second year of study to receive an advanced diploma in 3D animation. Even though its been a few years since I last watched anything from Eddsworld, it seems it never left my subconscious.
So glad these guys are still doing okay. The show helped me meet two of my closest friends and get through a rough place in life, so I’m really hoping that no matter where they take things, they’re enjoying themselves.
Matt has stayed in the first place, and yet he is still is working hard for fans, and edds legacy. Props to Matt for being an amazing person honestly!🙌❤

I remember when Fan Service 2 came out. I was highly excited to watch it. I was so hype and everything. seeing that another video has finally came out when I thought all of Eddsworld was truly over... It really made me feel happy.
I just really, really love the show. I just love it because it brings me back to a quieter, brighter, more innocent place. Better people, happier times, the same goofy cast and shenanigans, as well as character relations that actually intrigue me.
Funny story: I was going through my old DeviantArt (just going through my favorites) and got really nostalgic going through the Eddsworld tab. I decided to check out the old channel to watch some old episodes... It just so happened to be on the exact day that Fan Service 2 dropped. I shit, y'all, I was so fucking excited, I had no clue that Eddsworld was ever going to come back. Cried some happy tears that day
Love this video! I got into Eddsworld around late 2012 shortly after Edd passed away and was a special interest of mine for a really long time and Edd inspired me to animate! So happy the series is coming back!

I actually left the eddsworld fandom cuz I couldn't take anymore of all those toxic fans like "I'm gOnNA kIlL yOu iF yoU dOnt shIp tOm And tOrD!1!" And then I read about all that bad talk about the weird "The Beginning and The Friend" comic. It was just full of alot of kids that didnt know how to resolve an argument nor respect opinions.
Edd was a man of culture, and the fans were dangerous. I'm waiting for the future of the show begin, so that way I'll see what Matt improve for the show. And I'm not showing shade to other fans who are respectful to eddsworld, just the ones who's harassing the team. I'm a fan from 2015 to here, but I feel like I'm seeing alot of fans who are ravenous to the whole thing. I'm loosing faith here, I'm losing it every fucking day. So guys, if you are a fan. Looking through these comments and seeing people still using the excuse not to ship Eddsworld characters because it’s “the same as shipping real people” clearly didn’t listen or didn’t care to take into consideration where Matt literally stated that the characters are completely separate to the actors.
What matt said really helped me a lot I was think that my videos were trash and I didn’t think I would get to follow my dreams to become a animator and make my own show when I heard what Matt said I got more inspired and I’m gonna listen to what he said and keep doing what I love to do make people happy and and make me feel also thank you eddsworld for making who I am today I can’t thank you enough how much you made me laugh all these years I’m very Grateful I am that I found eddsworld .
Well Tom left, made ASDF, and is now a depressed brit who surrounded himself with the clout of newgrounds and notoriety. Now hes hard stuck to keep ASDF going due to demand. Pina talked about how the fame got to his head and he refuses to acknowledge that he needs to take a break and reset his social circle. Matt can breathe new life into Eddsworld. I hope things works out so that we have another classic animation genre still living with us past 2020.
Dope92 I still think Pina was incredibly unfair to Tom in that interview and bought into a lot of the bullshit people were peddling about Tom at the time. I heavily suggest checking out Tom's interview with Marc Lovallo to get a more rounded view of what actually went down and why things were so difficult for Tom during that time. A lot of it had more to do with fans treating him like trash and accusing him of being a grifter, which I saw firsthand on his video where he talks about Edd's death. Unfortunately, it seems Tom took down the video due to the amount of abuse he received from it. I think people tend to forget youtubers are people too, and Tom is someone who was always very open about his confidence issues, low self-esteem, and depression, so accusing him of being ego-driven or saying the fame is a really toxic way of approaching this. Not to mention, Tom did take a break and reset his social circle - even later reconciled with Bing, so I'm not sure where that part even came from. I just chalk it up to Pina being less experienced back when he made that video and going more off public opinion than actually doing research at the time.

i love eddsworld but my god the fandom is just..terrible. harassing tord to the point of where he cant even use his real name on any social media platform, shipping real people and just being rude and pestering tom on why he left still. its disgusting.
Some people are so mean... I feel so bad for Tord, Tom already explained why he left, and is it so difficult to not involve the real people into the ships for some shippers?
I remember when Eds cancer came back. I remember when his passing was announced. It was devastating. I'm so happy to know they're still continuing the project ❤

i used to watch eddsworld and i remember just being a dumb kid, going home and binge watching episodes not even in order. those were the good days, and i wish edd's family my condolences. this video randomly popped up in my recommended , and it gave me a flow of nostalgia so thank you for making this video.
This actually hit me in so many places at once who has had ideas like such for years upon years and dealt with a lot. I almost started crying.
I think everyone who was around for youtube's earlier days knows about Eddsworld, it was everywhere, im glad you covered a now quite dead subject/ cartoon.

Okay so I really appreciate you covering this, and Eddsworld was a big part of my childhood and everything,

EddsWorld will always remain a classic, and I’d really love to go back to the series and watch it again in the future
I cry every time I hear anything about eddsworld, it's really close to my heart and it inspired me to be an artist
I grew up watching Eddsworld, and watching this video made me realise just how much of an impact it had on my life. As of 2021 I'll be in my second year of study to receive an advanced diploma in 3D animation. Even though its been a few years since I last watched anything from Eddsworld, it seems it never left my subconscious.

I remember when Fan Service 2 came out. I was highly excited to watch it. I was so hype and everything. seeing that another video has finally came out when I thought all of Eddsworld was truly over... It really made me feel happy.
I just really, really love the show. I just love it because it brings me back to a quieter, brighter, more innocent place. Better people, happier times, the same goofy cast and shenanigans, as well as character relations that actually intrigue me.
Funny story: I was going through my old DeviantArt (just going through my favorites) and got really nostalgic going through the Eddsworld tab. I decided to check out the old channel to watch some old episodes...
It just so happened to be on the exact day that Fan Service 2 dropped. I shit, y'all, I was so fucking excited, I had no clue that Eddsworld was ever going to come back. Cried some happy tears that day
Love this video! I got into Eddsworld around late 2012 shortly after Edd passed away and was a special interest of mine for a really long time and Edd inspired me to animate! So happy the series is coming back!

I remember watching eddsworld on newgrounds. I remember seeing that he died after watching for so long, i had to stop watching any for awhile. Going back and watching it every once and awhile, its such happy memories. Good luck to the new group, I'm definitely going to be watching

I know you didn't cover the majority of the bad, and holy shit there is a lot of bad surrounding it (mostly from the fans effecting the people in eddsworld or worked on it) but im glad to many its memorable in a good way

And then I read about all that bad talk about the weird "The Beginning and The Friend" comic. It was just full of alot of kids that didnt know how to resolve an argument nor respect opinions.

Well Tom left, made ASDF, and is now a depressed brit who surrounded himself with the clout of newgrounds and notoriety. Now hes hard stuck to keep ASDF going due to demand. Pina talked about how the fame got to his head and he refuses to acknowledge that he needs to take a break and reset his social circle.
Matt can breathe new life into Eddsworld. I hope things works out so that we have another classic animation genre still living with us past 2020.
Dope92 I still think Pina was incredibly unfair to Tom in that interview and bought into a lot of the bullshit people were peddling about Tom at the time. I heavily suggest checking out Tom's interview with Marc Lovallo to get a more rounded view of what actually went down and why things were so difficult for Tom during that time.
A lot of it had more to do with fans treating him like trash and accusing him of being a grifter, which I saw firsthand on his video where he talks about Edd's death. Unfortunately, it seems Tom took down the video due to the amount of abuse he received from it. I think people tend to forget youtubers are people too, and Tom is someone who was always very open about his confidence issues, low self-esteem, and depression, so accusing him of being ego-driven or saying the fame is a really toxic way of approaching this.
Not to mention, Tom did take a break and reset his social circle - even later reconciled with Bing, so I'm not sure where that part even came from. I just chalk it up to Pina being less experienced back when he made that video and going more off public opinion than actually doing research at the time.

Watched this show when I was in 2nd grade when this show and in highschool sophomore year. Hearing he passed away made me sad but watching this series and really injoyed legacy
