As someone who got groomed and has the frustrating experience of said groomer avoiding accountability like the plague, the part 2:58 - 3:17 hits SO hard for me. This entire song makes me feel so much less alone in my resentment and anger towards him. Everyone who's experienced any type of sexual assault, abuse, grooming, etc, is SO strong. And after reading the comments I can confidently say that, we survived hell, and for that we should have the right to feel any emotions we can towards our abusers with no strings attached or others telling us to "forgive and forget". It should be, and IS, up to you how you handle your recovery process - not forgiving whoever hurt you does NOT make you a bad person and it is NOT required to heal. Because it is YOUR choice on how you cope/recover. And nobody from an outside perspective has the right to tell you that it's wrong.
My mom keeps telling me I NEED to forgive my ‘brother’ for things he did to me and I told her no and she gets mad at me every time. She always says ‘you can forgive someone but it doesn’t mean you forget’ and I tell her I’m never forgiving him and that I don’t care about him anymore
YESSSSSS!!! My parents told me “you didn’t tell us at the time, so it’s time to get over it, you can’t keep using that as an excuse” (an excuse for what, I’ve never asked). Fuck that, I’m allowed to be as resentful as I want towards them. Say it louder for those in the back!!!

Thank the gods I’ve never been SAed, but I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable by a much older man. I was fourteen years old, maybe 4`9`` and 100 LBS soaking wet. I’m also disabled, and as such I took a certain bus full of other kids who couldn’t take the normal bus to school. It came right to my door to pick me up. The bus driver saw me in a very modest sundress. Like when I say modest, I mean knee length dress with a jacket on over it and a ribbon in my hair. I looked like a little girl, and he kept making these extremely uncomfortable comments about how pretty I looked, telling me that the boys would be all over me, how he’d, “See you tomorrow, beautiful lady/pretty girl,” and how I should, “Stop biting those beautiful lips.” It took me crying into a friend’s chest for an hour to be able to report him, and even then he wasn’t fired. I was just moved to a different bus. Until he quit, whenever I passed him, he’d call out, “Hey sweetie,” to me whenever I passed by his bus, and he later went on to comment about how suggestively another disabled friend, who is younger than me, looked in the clothes they were wearing. For reference, they were literally just wearing shorts and a T-shirt. I finally worked up the courage to tell my older brothers about it, and they told me it wasn’t sexual harassment because he didn’t tell me he wanted to have sex with me, and started getting all up in arms defending the adult man who told a fourteen year old girl who looked about twelve years old how beautiful her body was. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about him, and I still remember his full name and now can only associate the first name with bad things. Though it was nice later on that my bus drivers after him knew exactly what he’d said and one of them outright told me, “You have every right to be angry. Nobody should ever talk to a young girl like that.” It was especially validating because he had previously been friends with the other driver until he learned what he’d done, at which point he stopped respecting him completely and wouldn’t even allow him near the bus when I got off and on. That’s the driver who’s name I wish I remembered

@@SnowieKitten I relate to the subject matter, but I know this song is made for women especially at the end with “here’s to my girls.” I sing along until that point. As a guy I need to stand aside and let voices be heard, if more people could just shut up when people are voicing their hurt then we’d be farther along with true equality by now. I hope you have a great day
Was anyone else struck by: "I don't deserve this, and for your next girlfriend, you need to treat her with respect"? I'm so used to hearing women sing songs about exes and bashing the women who date him after them as slots and hoes. If 2021 is the year that women move more towards standing up for each other and building each other up regardless of what they do or who they date, then at least something good came out of it ❤
Boy, this gives me some heathers, mean girls, and Hamilton vibes. With just a pinch of the ladies from Henry 8. I found this song because Instagram gives you tik tok videos. And I fucking love this song! Please don't give up your singing!
Never had a song make me want to scream the words so loudly as this song has. So beautiful and empowering. You’re so talented and strong for releasing such a song that I’m sure has a large story behind it.
Does this bring up memories of parental psychological abuse for anyone else? My dad still gaslights me and has the audacity to demand my presence whenever he wants something done but refuses to acknowledge that I've already done so much for him.
It's always funny when people say you never do anything for them yet they're always the first person they run to when they need something done. But anyway, it honestly *does* remind me about my parents (as well as reminds me of my ex). It's def the typa song that I'll blast once I cut my parents out of my life when I turn 18.
Yes, it reminds me of the verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse my mother put me through. Soon, it'll be the anniversary of my first year free of her, and hearing the section with "gaslighting me up" shook me when I heard it in a short. I will probably listen to this when I have bad days thinking about her from now on.
I'm so glad I came across this song! Mainly because for 3 years I got groomed and sexually assaulted by someone who I thought loved me. I was young and dumb but I've since dumped his ass and found an amazing man. To anyone who has experienced this you guys deserve better and you will get through this. If I could go back and change what happened I might but if I did I don't think I would of met my current partner. So I'm not sure..
This song reminds me of one of my dear friends. He got into a relationship that was in short, heavily abusive. He deserved so much better then what he was getting and finally was able to stand up for himself after he realized that this person was being absolutely horrible to him. I know this song has a predominantly female role but it can truely happen to anyone. My best friend who I am now proud to call my lover are as happy as can be and are both getting over our scars from past relationships to help better one another and make a life for ourselves in which we are both comfortable. Cause that’s what love should be, a union that can be associated with both comfort and contentment.
You're right! Personally I don't think this song is necessarily tall is necessarily targeting only women women. Women and men alike go through abusive situations whether it be Physically or sexually. I would say this is a great song but what bothers me the most is how People think only women can go through abusive situations. I've gone through abusive situations myself And as much as I'm happy to hear people standing up for themselves people also have to realize that men go through hardships and abusive situations. I just wish more people realized that.
this sounds like it could be a part 2 to "All You Wanna Do" from SIX the musical. This song sounds like it can really fit in a musical and I think the message aligns if Katherine did decide to fight back
Hey there two trans guys! I completely agree. We are all here to support you, and as the song says, NOBODY can demand who you are or your body. You are an amazing human being, and you absolutely deserve rights, no matter how many idiots protest to it. and to whoever reading this, I’m so proud of you for coming this far 🫂

Thank you for making this song! I’ve been dealing with a lot of PTSD and depression lately and I view this song as a personal theme of mine for the ones who have hurt me in the past thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This song feels like the solo in the musical right before the interval where the good girl who is loved by everyone finally gives up and becomes the villian
Even though it's a song about bad men hurting people, I vibe with this on a different level. I'm a trans man who's only been free of an abusive mother for almost a year, and all of my life up to my escape last year was hell. She was discreet, she was good at hiding it and tricking people to turn on me if I tried to use my voice. Even took coming out to my grandfather who passed away by doing it for me without my knowledge. I could write a book how wicked she was. I lost my best friends because of her, and even though I have been struggling... I've been thriving. I have moments where I miss the "safety" of being under her thumb, but then I remember how bad it was... This song is going to be one of a few that I listen to when I think about what I went through.
hello I've recently left a 3 year relationship because he cheated on me again and your song is helping me not to be soft to him and take him back. thank you 🥺🥺
This song gives me the vibes of what I feel towards my Father(change some of the words of course, but the "If your so mature now, then I think it's time you grow up, admit you did it, we all know you did it, and yet you still gas light me up, your are such a flam out" reminds me of him trying to abuse us, and how he acts like he is so much better than us
This is the exact song ive been waiting made me cry even if it was upbeat,, i had a courage to break up with him since all he think is the 'bed' even if i told him no... The part where "and for your next girlfriend you need to treat her with respect" thats exactly what i told him.. but he kept his stand thinking he respect me.. so sad.. im happy im free
You did the right thing breaking up with him. A good, mature, and caring boyfriend Willis understand if you weren’t ready for that and would wait as long as you need. I’m really happy for you and I hope you find someone who will treat you how you deserve 💕 also I agree, this song is so good and made me more confident especially about breaking up with my ex.
It's been one week since I started listening to this song... I'm sure it's a sign, 'cause the song I listened before this one was all you wanna do from six the musical. Both of them talk about abuse.... It's hitting me so hard that I feel like someone took me down suddenly and I couldn't do anything about it
I am so in love with this song!! Like others have said, it gives me MAJOR musical vibes and it's absolutely brilliant! I can soo imagine a whole broadway sequence to this... I hope you make more songs like this and pursue a broadway sound since you do it so well.
OK this is officially my favourite song ever- Ik someone else said it but- These lyrics hit different. "If you're so 'mature' now, then I think it's time you grow up. Admit you did it, we ALL KNOW you DID it, and yet you still gaslight me up.."
I saw you post it on TikTok and I’ve fallen in love already. I’ve listened to the song at least 20 times by now and it’s only been a day. Your voice is beautiful 💕
My exes cheated on me nine times and I hope that my journey realized what they had and what they loss and I'm so tired of being heartbroken, cheated on, lied to, and betrayed by my ex-boyfriends who doesn't care about me and I'm going to show them what they missed out on and they missed out on a good woman who deserves better than a liar and a cheater

I feel like as a guy I’m not worthy to sing along to this song, BUT ITS SO MF GOOD
i feel like guys are allowed to also relate to & enjoy songs like these, so u shouldn't feel like u can't sing it!

@@naureenabdulmajeed526 well hope isn’t inherently worthless, but at this point, it may be so
You have every right to sing this. Everyone has the right to feel powerful.
Was anyone else struck by: "I don't deserve this, and for your next girlfriend, you need to treat her with respect"?
I'm so used to hearing women sing songs about exes and bashing the women who date him after them as slots and hoes.
If 2021 is the year that women move more towards standing up for each other and building each other up regardless of what they do or who they date, then at least something good came out of it ❤
Who wants to bet that the one dislike is from the person the song is about 😂
LMFAOOOO or some of them just misclicked

Boy, this gives me some heathers, mean girls, and Hamilton vibes. With just a pinch of the ladies from Henry 8. I found this song because Instagram gives you tik tok videos. And I fucking love this song! Please don't give up your singing!
As a victim of SA, this song speaks to me.
same WE SHALL RISE BITCHES
I've been so excited for this to come out. I have not been disappointed. Such an amazing song
Oh my gosh thank you, that means the world!!!
Never had a song make me want to scream the words so loudly as this song has. So beautiful and empowering. You’re so talented and strong for releasing such a song that I’m sure has a large story behind it.
I relate so much! Personally, it gives me a kind of feeling of… closure? Whatever it is, I think it’s good?
Does this bring up memories of parental psychological abuse for anyone else? My dad still gaslights me and has the audacity to demand my presence whenever he wants something done but refuses to acknowledge that I've already done so much for him.
It's always funny when people say you never do anything for them yet they're always the first person they run to when they need something done.
But anyway, it honestly *does* remind me about my parents (as well as reminds me of my ex). It's def the typa song that I'll blast once I cut my parents out of my life when I turn 18.
Yes, it reminds me of my mom…
yes very
Yes, it reminds me of the verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse my mother put me through. Soon, it'll be the anniversary of my first year free of her, and hearing the section with "gaslighting me up" shook me when I heard it in a short. I will probably listen to this when I have bad days thinking about her from now on.
2:18 the part that everyone heard at tiktok

that's literally where im here from
can we just take a minute to admire how gorgeous she looks in that picture~ like how??
I'm so glad I came across this song! Mainly because for 3 years I got groomed and sexually assaulted by someone who I thought loved me. I was young and dumb but I've since dumped his ass and found an amazing man. To anyone who has experienced this you guys deserve better and you will get through this. If I could go back and change what happened I might but if I did I don't think I would of met my current partner. So I'm not sure..
I am so sorry no one should ever have to go through that
This song literally made me think that there was a whole ass Broadway musical I was missing out on!! It’s so good I’m just jamming to it repeatedly!!!
This song sounds like it can really fit in a musical and I think the message aligns if Katherine did decide to fight back
🛐You need to write a friking musical or I would cry. Tienes un chingo de talento, sigue así y llegarás lejos
@Victoria Crow The song is so good that people would pray to it.
as a trans guy I just- yes. stand up and be HEARD, ladies- I may not be one of you anymore but you've sure as hell got my support
hi, also a trans guy! That's super cool :D
I support you!
Same!!! I may not be a woman anymore, but ill still stand by and support women forever.

~Lyrics for those who like to see them all at once like me❤~
So you say you really miss me? (Aah)
Well that makes me laugh
'Cause you miss the way I let you walk all over me
Broke every bone in my back
So you wanna reminisce things? Huh (aah)

I bet it won't change the past

I'm really sorry
This song blew my mind. Usually I think cool song and move on. I ran to google from tik Tok to listen to the full version.
This song literally describes what I’m going through but it’s with people I used to be friends with 😩
I love this it's a combination of every strong woman who had dealt with a toxic man and is just done
“If your so mature now, then I think it’s time you to grow up” hits hard
This has only been on here for two days and I’ve already lost caught of how many times I’ve listened to this on loop.
Thank you for this song 💜
You did the right thing breaking up with him. A good, mature, and caring boyfriend Willis understand if you weren’t ready for that and would wait as long as you need.
