Quite a surprise, this video. I almost turned it off a couple of times, but there began to develop connections to my own life in alarming accuracy. I'll leave it at that.
It was good to see Alison Steadman so young, very lovely woman. I was looking up this series on IMDB and unless there's an error some seasons had 75-100 episodes. Season 6 had 416 episodes but many of them were multi part episodes, and went from 1967 - 1971.
PAMELA BROWN WAS AMAZING AS MISS FORD I'M GOING ONTO GOOGLE NOW TO LOOK HER UP AS I'VE NOT SEEN HER BEFORE LOL SHE SADLY DIED IN 1975 NOT LONG AFTER THIS SHE WAS 58 PANCREATIC CANCER WAS THE CAUSE SO VERY SAD I'M GOING TO WATCH SOME MORE OF HER SHE HAS GOT QUITE A CV THANK YOU FOR THIS ❤️ REST IN PEACE MISS FORD ❤️🙏
I've spoken to many a serving and retired officer and they all claim to have run into someone like this. One North York Chief Inspector even joked "If we did what they want and dealt with all their troubles, they'd more than likely complain that they'd nothing to complain about!"
Nuisance, Season 9, Episode 2, aired 29 October 1973. James Ellis as Inspector Lynch; John Slater as Det. Sgt. Stone; Ian Cullen as D.C. Skinner; John Hartley as P.C. Way; Alison Steadman as W.P.C. Bayliss; Barrie Gosney as Dick Steel; Gordon Gostelow as Percy Haskell; Patsy Byrne as Mary Walker; Pamela Brown as Alexandra Ford.
When these episodes Z Cars were shown, I was a Teenager & clearly Z Cars was not your typical TV viewing, it was for Mum's & Dad's 😊 however I am now 66 & I must admit Z Car's is compulsive viewing, sad, but true, thanks for uploading the episodes 👍
Gordon Gostelow also played the main part in another Z Cars episode which stands out from my childhood. he played a man with a house full of pigeons and a shotgun who ended up being the subject of an armed siege by the Newtown bobbies And also in this one is Patsy Byrne, Nursey from Blackadder, in an earlier role.

There's an interview with Alison Steadman in which she talks about this and what a terrible bully the director was to her...it upset her so much she almost gave up acting...and there would have been no Beverly or Candice Marie.
The director mentioned was Julia Smith who went on to create Eastenders and the short lived Spanish based soap Eldorado..... She had a reputation as a hard task master......
@@darryltester5376 It was a hard school to come up in the TV industry as a woman in the 1950s and 60s. Irene Shubik, Julia Smith, Verity Lambert, Biddy Baxter - all of them could be hard-nosed and highly demanding. They'd learned that they had to be.
Can you take some constructive criticism? Can you make the union flag 1/4 the size for the screen. At least you still got your film marked but I think it would be a lot better. That is my opinion and keep posting what you doing I love it. Thank you for your choice brilliant keep it up . ....
Newtown was loosely based on the town (suburb, if you prefer) of Kirkby. Less than a mile outside Kirkby is a village called Simonswood, which could easily have been the setting for this episode. From what I recall, there isn't much Scouse spoken in Simonswood.
I've only just seen your channel, but I for one will be having a good browse through very soon. They haven't been up very long, I'm sure they'll get more attention in due course. It takes time. 😉

1973... the year I joined the army.... I'm very confused... I do remember this from my childhood, and watching it regularly.... and enjoying it... but watching it now, sorry, what a load of shite... I really was hoping I would enjoythe memories, but bollox, it was shit.... just the rest to watch to confirm :)
this series wa sawesome in billions of ways
I certainly don't remember viewing Zcars with such good sound and picture quality, not to mention in colour too such luxury.
Looks very different to me too, but I think I am remembering the really old ones.

I'll leave it at that.
It surprised me too, wasn't expecting a connection to my life either.

Great stories. Thankyou for this. John (Australia)
Remember wanting to stay up at the age of 7 wanting to watch the Avengers lol
Me too! Loved James Ellis (from my neck of the woods!)

Ooooh...I can copy and paste from Wikipedia too.

Patsy Byrne was also Mrs Stoneway in Watching.
I knew the actress playing the postwoman sounded familiar.
She played " Martina the poisoner " in I, Claudius in the early 70's
Yes, she was Empress Livia's poison supplier.
I think the writing on this is marvellous. You can't have a murder every week in a cop shop.

Thanks for this. A pity you can't (or won't) do something about the upside-down Union Flag.
Alison Steadman looked lovely in this episode.
"Bought some letter bombs for her ?". 😀😂😅😀😂😅

No wonder eldorado was short lived with her being there.
If Alison Steadman had given up acting, there would have been no Alison Steadman as Abigail in Abigail's Party and that would have been a tragedy..

Nuts in May hmmm Amazing
It is such a sad ending to this episode. When we find out that the cause of her anger was a failed love affair many years previously.
There was only one window broken ?
Alison Steadman. Great actress. Bit of a babe back in the day too.
Still is
Looks young.
She got ran over by Nursie from Blackadder
Miriam margoyles....met her on holiday in the Costa del sol, she was completely naked on the beach...

Excellent but the accents of the villagers was a very long way from the fictional Newtown, supposedly close to Liverpool.
Newtown was loosely based on the town (suburb, if you prefer) of Kirkby. Less than a mile outside Kirkby is a village called Simonswood, which could easily have been the setting for this episode. From what I recall, there isn't much Scouse spoken in Simonswood.
Put the CORRECT Union Flag in your Logo.
Twist in the plot
Spoiled only by that unnecessarily large watermark.

Rule Britannia!
Patsy Bryne oyung in this.
HHA was 72 so they could have used 135, I think.
Get rid of the watermark. It would be better. Couldn’t make it any bigger could you.
Try buying a window for a couple of £s now 😂

This was showing the decline of policing. That was malicious criminal damage and the police ignored it. TV following real life.
