A new technique to me, thank you for putting this together and explaining the general procedure. Rethinking some of these lovely autumn trees around me in a nearby park that don't singularly make a compelling image, but collectively like this could definitely do so. Thanks again. Good health.
Thank you Glenys, I took my first batch of images for this style last week... now I know how to process them. Looking forward to seeing your lecture this evening too.
you prolly dont care but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Conor Weston Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
You don’t need an action to make all the layers at 50% opacity. Just highlight all the layers that you want to set to a certain opacity - and then choose the value you want, and all of them will have that value. You can do the same with the blend mode.
Excellent video. One question though. What are your settings you use when taking the photos? Regular exposure settings as if shooting a sharp and clear landscape type photo? Or are you using a slow shutter speed? Incorporating any ICM at all? Thank you!
Thanks Chris....it's quite a fun technique and you can get some interesting effects. Not all images work but you get a feel for it once you have done a few. 😁👍
Excellent video, very helpful. Thank you. I have tried this but when I have a large stack like this I find that the lower layers have no effect even after changing opacity. Starting at the bottom I tried turning them off and it wasn't until I got to about half way that their effect was noticed. I'm enjoying experimenting but have yet to find a way to have all the layers in a large stack to have an effect. Any tips?
This is such a beautiful and helpful tutorial. Can you please share the final edit tutorial as well that you did after merging the pictures! I loved the final edit but curious to know how to edited like that, thank you :)
Hi Glenys, last month I gained my ARPS in Fine Art with a panel inspired by Pep Ventosa's 'Street Rhythms'. I wish I had seen your video before I started my project more than 18 months ago, it would have saved me a lot of time learning for myself how to get this effect. Great tutorial. p.s. hope you are keeping safe and well.
As long you got the ARPS Alan 👍 thank you for taking the time to comment....yes I'm fine, need to do some new videos, no longer an excuse having no time 😊👍
You did not bring up how choosing a blending mode for each layer can influence the look of the final image. It is an important design factor that you can make to personal taste. Also note that as you reduce the opacity of the layers from first to last each layer should be a little less than all those before it. If it is higher then it will blanket out the lower layers rendering them ineffective.
Hi Stuart, no I haven't, but you could, however you might still want to tweak some of the layers e.g make bigger or smaller, depends on what you want to do creatively. G
I find the Pep Ventosa method is very subject-dependent - sometimes you have a subject you think is going to look great but it just doesn't work out. @@GlenysGarnett
@@ajcann yes that's very true Alan, I've done quite a few and found some just don't work, but to be honest for me that's part of then interest in doing them, you don't always know what you are going to get. 🤔
This is straight on - no side talks - Good Job ;)

Thank you. Yes they are straight shots no ICM, not to say you can't incorporate some if you want.

thanks Colin, I think you just have to experiment, I find certain images work better than others, I sometimes re-order the stack or take some out
Thankyou very much. IT is technic I was searching for since a long time.

to lower all the layers to a percentage, just select all the layers and set to say...50%...and they all change
