At least the box office wasn't lower than its own budget. The marketing was just so poor that I’m glad even TFHypeGuy was able to help it strive even just a bit. Hopefully, the sequel will be as good as this one and twice as successful now that people are recognizing the movie's potential.

I may be in the minority, but I actually agree with Prime about not killing Sentinel. Trust me, I understand Megatron’s rage and I agree, he deserves it. But, with a person like that, killing him is the easy way out. It’s much worse to make him suffer the consequences of his actions. I’ve also studied history as a hobby, and I noticed a pattern that when a government is toppled by a violent revolution, the revolutionaries are often worse than who they overthrew

Yea people confuse the idea that Prime is "saving" Sentinel, but it's more about saving D-16 than anything. We see this all the time in history, people don't just stop at 1 person once they figure out who to blame and who to kill. There's a reason why societies like that don't thrive and other societies that follow through trial and punishment prevail. The reality people don't understand is that we are animals. The moment you open up the gates to being an animal again, don't be surprised when everything turns into a jungle.

I think a lot of people misinterpret orions actions. He's not trying to protect sentinel. He's trying to save his brother D 16 from crossing the point of no return. D is blinded by rage and his own desire for power to see it. That he sees his own brother as an enemy.
I understood Orion Pax just fine. Optimus Prime always tried to give mercy , even to Megatron. The few times Megatron dies, Optimus Prime is always shown grieving for Megatron.

I can see Bumblebee broken on a medic table, unable to utter a single word after Megatron cruelly crushed Bee's voicebox. Optimus and Elita listening to Ratchet's diagnosis on Bumblebee's state of being, delve deeper into sadness and despair knowing how low the chances are for fully repairing Bee's voicebox, especially in the middle of war. Elita who remembered saying she wanted for Bumblebee to talk less back when they first met, feels immense sadness and guilt, wishing to take back her statement back then. It would make it all the more heart wrenching. 😭😭😭

I went to go see this movie on the big screen, and my theatre was full of Transformers fans. I can guarantee that this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!* Everyone in my theatre was on the edge of their seats in the 3rd Act and were clapping at the end of the movie, and Ive never seen people clap for a Transformers movie before! The trailers did this movie SOOO DIRTY! Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent as Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is as I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate. Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie was as it truly deserved better promotion for such a great movie and yet the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.
Seeing their origins really makes me wanna see them working together again. As many differences they have in ideals, optimus and megatron has really good chemistry. Seeing optimus lead the "future to be" decepticons like shockwave and soundwave was so cool.
If this film gets sequels, I want them to do the scene from the original IDW run with Megatron visiting Nercroworld and realizing what he has become and then decide to join the Autobots. That is legit one of the beautiful and tragic scenes in any piece of media I've ever seen.
If you think about it, D-16 is like Anakin. Both were enslaved, they both became evil later and became a different person, but the difference is: one stayed true to his new transformation, the other died as their old self
To answer your question as to how Alpha Trion was doing that power trip. Remember, The Primes themselves are essentially Gods or Celestials. Sorta like Thor or Odin in Marvel. Meaning The Primes themselves have powers and abilities beyond comprehension.

Alpha Trion has borderline magical abilities because the Primes are imbued with power by Primus/Cybertron himself, which is essentially a god in power level. Towards the end you see Optimus, who became a true Prime, with similar unique abilities, like his energy axe. That axe is the only weapon in the movie that is just pure energy rather than a physical weapon
Your comparison to Megatron as saying "My girl cheated, I'll never trust another girl again" is exactly spot on. There are people like that in real life. They will get mistreated by one person, and that trauma is so bad that they will never ever trust anyone like that, and instead hate them with an unreasonable passion. That's precisely Megatron
@@j0hn00Yes, Megatron looked up to Sentinel, but learned that Sentinel was a fraud. Thus, Megatron doesn’t want anyone calling the shots, except for himself. Also, he saw Optimus’ sacrifice as a betrayal, as he’s too blinded by anger to even consider a moderate course of action. Thus, Megatron vowed to never get as close to anyone as he was to Optimus. Also, when Megatron asks “Why’d you do that?”, he is genuinely surprised. Optimus suffered as a slave as well, so he has no reason to demand mercy on this traitor who mutilated them before their consciousnesses came to be, so he could use them as slave labour. You can see Megatron process the perceived betrayal, before coming to the conclusion that Optimus has chosen the side of the oppressor. “I’m done saving you.”, is when Megatron comes to the conclusion that Optimus is in cahoots with Sentinel, and is guilty by association. However, I feel like Optimus wanted to spare Sentinel, just to put him on trial. Yes, it will nine times out of ten end in Sentinel being sentenced to death, with that other one time resulting in him being locked up forever and ever, but it will be a lot better optically than straight up murdering Sentinel. Even if Sentinel doesn’t deserve to live, what Megatron chose to do to him demoralized him into Cybertron’s next tyrant. A tyrant whose war with his former best friend would end up bringing ruin to Cybertron just like Sentinel’s coup, this time more permanently.
So just so you know, The Bayverse Movies are their own Continuity. This story is starting from square one in its own deal. Which should be clear just from the very different Art Style, actual writing, and Personalities Present. Also, Elita-1 Is her own character. While Arcee is also a pink motorcycle, she’s a different person who we actually see a few times in the Movie such as when she’s getting excited about Orion and D-16 being in the race, or towards the end when she gets her Cog with a bunch of other bots. Also also, the Spark is a Transformers Heart and Soul, their Personality and their memories, codified into a sphere of light, while a Transformation Cog is a Organ that allows a Cybertronian to scan, and reformat themselves into an Alternative Mode. Without a Cog, one cannot transform, even if they’ve already obtained an Alt Mode.
Something cool is how you can see Megatron's eyes turning slowly from yellow, to orange, to red, symbolizing his slow descent into madness. It's really cool.
After seeing that final battle in the movie, at the cinema, I had to change my pants! It was amazing! I absolutely love how they use their ability to Transform in fights, showing that when it comes to fighting, they have almost no limits!

1:54-2:10 The G1 comic series (separate continuity to the cartoon) first established that Primus created the Transformers and that Cybertron is his physical form. Basically Primus and Unicron were celestial beings. Unicron wanted to destroy the universe and Primus opposed him. Because they were so powerful the universe was being torn to shreds by their battle. Primus tricked Unicron and sealed both of them into planets. Over the eons Unicron managed to take control of his prison and convert it first into a giant machine and then into a likeness of his original form. Primus knew that if he went the same route he'd be right back where he started so instead he created a race of robotic beings to protect the universe from Unicron. Those beings were the Transformers. 8:50-8:54 It's both actually.
Orion didn't want to stop D to save Sentinel, he wanted to preserve whatever morality left in his brother's heart. And death is too merciful to Sentinel. Living to pay for his sins is more painful.

Elita-1 stands for herself, as she was Optimus girlfriend in the original show. That being said, she was originally called Ariel just like he was called Orion Pax. Now try using the Ariel name without Disney suing you for their Little Mermaid.
Theres a running Theory that it's going to be a trilogy run, Second movie is probs gonna be the battle against the Quintessons (To get their planet back), and the Third is the beginning of The War for Cybertron (First of many battles of the Great Cybertronian War)
Primus has been Cybertron in most iterations of the franchise, but didn’t start out that way. Original stuff was very different Transformers is a franchise that has had over 20 different timelines and continuities over the now 40 years it has existed But nowadays there are several pieces of lore that are “canon” across all continuities. Primus is Cybertron, the 13 original Primes, Optimus and Megatron went from friends to enemies. All of these are now canon in all versions Even iterations where these weren’t established have had them retroactively put into the continuity

Megatronus Prime not betraying the others and instead Sentinel was beautiful. Plus Alpha Trion still gave D-16 a cog to give him a chance to make a choice probably because he saw Megatronus in him and thought that he could make a good choice despite it.
There’s a three season Netflix show called War for Cybertron: Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom that you’ll probably like. Transformers One is a completely new and separate continuity, but Siege is essentially the events that would occur after this movie.

I feel like the fact he's been voiceless in every live action movie, to the point where it's starting to get old, was 100% the core reason they decided to make him annoyingly talkative here

I can see Bumblebee broken on a medic table, unable to utter a single word after Megatron cruelly crushed Bee's voicebox. Optimus and Elita listening to Ratchet's diagnosis on Bumblebee's state of being, delve deeper into sadness and despair knowing how low the chances are for fully repairing Bee's voicebox, especially in the middle of war. Elita who remembered saying she wanted for Bumblebee to talk less back when they first met, feels immense sadness and guilt, wishing to take back her statement back then. It would make it all the more heart wrenching. 😭😭😭

Why did people only watch the first trailer and not the second? All movies have this way. The first trailer is a tease, but the second trailer told the story of the movie.
I went to go see this movie on the big screen, and my theatre was full of Transformers fans. I can guarantee that this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!* Everyone in my theatre was on the edge of their seats in the 3rd Act and were clapping at the end of the movie, and Ive never seen people clap for a Transformers movie before! The trailers did this movie SOOO DIRTY!
Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent as Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is as I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate.
Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie was as it truly deserved better promotion for such a great movie and yet the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.

Seeing their origins really makes me wanna see them working together again. As many differences they have in ideals, optimus and megatron has really good chemistry. Seeing optimus lead the "future to be" decepticons like shockwave and soundwave was so cool.
If this film gets sequels, I want them to do the scene from the original IDW run with Megatron visiting Nercroworld and realizing what he has become and then decide to join the Autobots. That is legit one of the beautiful and tragic scenes in any piece of media I've ever seen.
Perhaps with the return of the Quintessons. As they will definitely come knocking, especially with their puppet king torn in half and disgraced.
One of the things which I love about this movie is how it tells the origins of the Transformers, their Creator Primus, and the 13 original Primes!
If you think about it, D-16 is like Anakin. Both were enslaved, they both became evil later and became a different person, but the difference is: one stayed true to his new transformation, the other died as their old self

Remember, The Primes themselves are essentially Gods or Celestials. Sorta like Thor or Odin in Marvel. Meaning The Primes themselves have powers and abilities beyond comprehension.

@@JedidiahLilly Nope, Elita-1 and Arcee are 2 different autobots. Arcee is pink and white, she was the one screaming *"look there are miners in the race"* when Orion and D-16 joined, you can also spot Arcee in front of the crowd when Orion was giving his speech in the miners quarters.
Alpha Trion has borderline magical abilities because the Primes are imbued with power by Primus/Cybertron himself, which is essentially a god in power level. Towards the end you see Optimus, who became a true Prime, with similar unique abilities, like his energy axe. That axe is the only weapon in the movie that is just pure energy rather than a physical weapon
Your comparison to Megatron as saying "My girl cheated, I'll never trust another girl again" is exactly spot on. There are people like that in real life. They will get mistreated by one person, and that trauma is so bad that they will never ever trust anyone like that, and instead hate them with an unreasonable passion. That's precisely Megatron
@@j0hn00Yes, Megatron looked up to Sentinel, but learned that Sentinel was a fraud. Thus, Megatron doesn’t want anyone calling the shots, except for himself. Also, he saw Optimus’ sacrifice as a betrayal, as he’s too blinded by anger to even consider a moderate course of action. Thus, Megatron vowed to never get as close to anyone as he was to Optimus.
Also, when Megatron asks “Why’d you do that?”, he is genuinely surprised. Optimus suffered as a slave as well, so he has no reason to demand mercy on this traitor who mutilated them before their consciousnesses came to be, so he could use them as slave labour. You can see Megatron process the perceived betrayal, before coming to the conclusion that Optimus has chosen the side of the oppressor. “I’m done saving you.”, is when Megatron comes to the conclusion that Optimus is in cahoots with Sentinel, and is guilty by association.
However, I feel like Optimus wanted to spare Sentinel, just to put him on trial. Yes, it will nine times out of ten end in Sentinel being sentenced to death, with that other one time resulting in him being locked up forever and ever, but it will be a lot better optically than straight up murdering Sentinel. Even if Sentinel doesn’t deserve to live, what Megatron chose to do to him demoralized him into Cybertron’s next tyrant. A tyrant whose war with his former best friend would end up bringing ruin to Cybertron just like Sentinel’s coup, this time more permanently.

So just so you know, The Bayverse Movies are their own Continuity. This story is starting from square one in its own deal. Which should be clear just from the very different Art Style, actual writing, and Personalities Present.
Also, Elita-1 Is her own character. While Arcee is also a pink motorcycle, she’s a different person who we actually see a few times in the Movie such as when she’s getting excited about Orion and D-16 being in the race, or towards the end when she gets her Cog with a bunch of other bots.
Also also, the Spark is a Transformers Heart and Soul, their Personality and their memories, codified into a sphere of light, while a Transformation Cog is a Organ that allows a Cybertronian to scan, and reformat themselves into an Alternative Mode. Without a Cog, one cannot transform, even if they’ve already obtained an Alt Mode.
Something cool is how you can see Megatron's eyes turning slowly from yellow, to orange, to red, symbolizing his slow descent into madness. It's really cool.
After seeing that final battle in the movie, at the cinema, I had to change my pants! It was amazing! I absolutely love how they use their ability to Transform in fights, showing that when it comes to fighting, they have almost no limits!

This movie deserves more love
I was told about this movie through word of mouth. I also heard its marketing was pretty bad. Unfortunate considering this movie was GREAT.
Primus is as old as the universe according to transformers lore, so it's possible that over his billions of years spent as a planet, his gravity attracted gas and debris and organic life developed on the surface (seemingly only in geologically stable regions)
The deer bots probably eat grass to get energy by burning it like a steam engine.

1:54-2:10 The G1 comic series (separate continuity to the cartoon) first established that Primus created the Transformers and that Cybertron is his physical form.
Basically Primus and Unicron were celestial beings. Unicron wanted to destroy the universe and Primus opposed him. Because they were so powerful the universe was being torn to shreds by their battle. Primus tricked Unicron and sealed both of them into planets. Over the eons Unicron managed to take control of his prison and convert it first into a giant machine and then into a likeness of his original form. Primus knew that if he went the same route he'd be right back where he started so instead he created a race of robotic beings to protect the universe from Unicron. Those beings were the Transformers.

Primus has been Cybertron in most iterations of the franchise, but didn’t start out that way. Original stuff was very different
Transformers is a franchise that has had over 20 different timelines and continuities over the now 40 years it has existed
But nowadays there are several pieces of lore that are “canon” across all continuities. Primus is Cybertron, the 13 original Primes, Optimus and Megatron went from friends to enemies. All of these are now canon in all versions
Even iterations where these weren’t established have had them retroactively put into the continuity

The motorbike transformer you're probably thinking of is Arcee who is one of the main autobots in "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." This transformer in this movie is Elita-1 and she made a brief appearance in "Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen" before being k!lled off.

There’s a three season Netflix show called War for Cybertron: Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom that you’ll probably like. Transformers One is a completely new and separate continuity, but Siege is essentially the events that would occur after this movie.
