You are asking for too much. Stick with your truck.
I think the aftermarket mods are gonna be epic for this truck. Cybertruck is a blank canvas, can’t wait to see what people come up with.
Going to be interesting mounting upgrades. Those huge castings that make up the truck sure seem like a good stable thing to attach to.
This truck wasn’t designed to accommodate upgrades
@@gws-1776 Other trucks are not supposed to be modified either but for some owners that's the first thing they do. It will be interesting to see what is available on the aftermarket.
Because the outer skin is the load carrying part of the truck (like the exoskeleton of an insect) you can probably just weld or bolt much of what you want directly to the hull. Not like rust or paint is a concern so it might be modders dream for trial and error stuff!@@frankcoffey
I'm not a hardcore offroader, but I like to get out into the wild for camping, so I need a truck that can handle forest service roads, logging trails, desert washes, and challenging situations to get there. I should my Cybertruck early 2024 and am looking forward to many off road adventures. The things I like about the CT:
1) It runs quiet. Noisy vehicles scare wildlife away.
2) It has 100 cu ft of cargo capacity for longer trips.
3) It's built to be reliable (far fewer things to fail).
4) Extremely durable exterior (dent and scratch resistant)
5) Able to wade through 3' of water
6) Very low center of gravity
7) All-wheel steering for maneuverability
As to the range issue, I take along a quiet dual-fuel generator to add charge to the battery when camped. Range is only limited by the amount of propane or gasoline I take with or buy along the way.
Cybertruck will be an capable off-road vehicle.
With EV's, the slower you go the better the range...great for off roading!
No, off roading takes a lot of juice. Climbing over rocks or slogging through mud is a lot harder thsn slow cruises diwntown. Cybertruck will have attrocious range offroad.
@@TroySavary that’s not accurate you’re thinking about it like an ICE car, the motor only takes significant juice when going real fast due to wind resistance. The torque on an ev is way more then ICE that’s why an they use so much
@@gonzac36 It takes significantly more energy when your wheels are sunk in mud, or when you are spinning in sand, or dragging the vehicle over huge rocks. Not only is physics in my side, but the actual experience of people running EVs off road. Rivian used most of a full charge doing Rubicon.
@@TroySavary significantly more than what? Then driving at 100 miles an hour? Or 60 miles an hour? I hope somebody does a test and sees the actual Wh/mile off roading. Rivian looks pretty, but the powertrain and efficiency isn’t close to Tesla’s.
@@gonzac36 According to the EPA numbers, Rivian is more efficient than Cybertruck. How much is due to the superior aero of the Rivian is as of yet unknown. But even if the Cybertruck is a bit more efficient than Rivian, that changes nothing. Off roading is an energy hog. Go run on the beach then run on the road if you need help understanding why.
It’s going to be awesome! Jeep and Cybertruck are roughly the same price now anyway. Will sell my Wrangler (but won’t have to anytime soon since I’m like 1 million on the waiting list, lol).
Some percentage of those preorders will cancel moving you up, but still you are probably 3 yrs out. I hope they get to 500k units/yr ASAP, maybe as soon as end of 2025. A second assembly line is suspected by some highly informed observers, there's room for it in TX factory.
17 inches of ground clearance at maxx height is awesome.
And with that 2.5 inch lift, that would be 19.5. That’s just insane. I don’t know if I’m sold on it yet. Suppose I don’t need to be. Even if I got on that waiting list, would be years and years before I could get my hands on one. Never before have a seen a vehicle that so badly needed those mods though.
I’m a Jeep guy. I’ve had two FSJs and two wranglers and a Gladiator.
I bought a P85D back in 2013 and instantly thought it would make a great Jeep or truck.
It has taken ten years and here it is. My vision was more of an electric Unimog …
Would a diesel generator not make more sense than that range extender? Cheaper and you can easily find a place to buy more diesel. You properly cannot be on the move while charging using a diesel generator, but you could use it while setting up camp or during the night providing you can sleep though the noise.
Been waiting for this! It seems the test drivers so far have not been off road enthusiasts to say the least. I'm betting there will be more of these in Miami and Beverly Hills than in the mountains .
The tent is elevated above the bed so you don’t have to remove all your gear to use it.
It'll be awesome off-road - just not on ridiculously long (and completely unnecessary) overlanding excursions. And loud, polluting overland rigs are rather off-putting to the majority of the population. The Rivian R1T and CyberTruck are attracting a new kind of more conscious off-roader. That I think in and of itself is an improvement to the status quo.
You forget that going slow Does increase range and you typically can't go very fast off-road unless it's Baja style and the CyberTruck was developed specifically to be good at that as well. It's not wasting energy idling though obviously lifts, huge wheels, and rooftop crap will decrease range. But that's on you. Hanging out 200 miles off the beaten path with a foldout solar array and a bunch of creature comforts not powered by a loud, stinky generator sounds awesome.
Rivian? Not the same thing with less efficient powertrain. Accessories? Guys, it literally just came out. Give it time. Jeep has been around since 1945. When eventually there are millions of CyberTrucks, the aftermarket including 48V stuff will get huge.
If you are just now reserving it may be years before you get one. The good news is it will be soooo much better by then. Tesla doesn't wait for model years or refreshes to improve their vehicles. As soon as possible those improvements go right on the production line. At one point they were making about 5 changes a week to the 3 and Y so it was luck of the draw what yours would have. My wife got a Model 3 in Feb. 2022 and it was one of the first ones with the AMD Rizen processor and the lithium ion 12 volt battery. If we had ordered just a month before that it would have had the old stuff.
Cybertruck looks wicked 👍🏻
looks like you have electricity. So maybe you could charge at home. Do you have an oil well & refinery at home? I am from a town of 300 people in rural Minnesota, we have electricity...we no longer have a gas station.
Yay Casey
Great video!
I still wanna see a Cybertruck being lifted with actual proper tires.
I wish they would have gone for a more traditional design with a slight Tesla design twist.
Also, electronics give amazing opportunity to mod a car to be more offroad capable.
It has 3 motors right ? Let us be able to program the cars drive system, that would be nuts.
As far as i know most problems they had were due to incapable software.
Also, i know people gonna cry, but EVs are much more reliable than any ICE will ever be.
You have much less mechanical bits and pieces, electrical motors run forever.
Theres no driveshaft, no differentials and stuff like that.
Low center of mass, helpful for rockcrawling.
So those things are a huge plus.
Strap a few solar panels on it to give it slightly more range, get external solar panels to place around.
I think that truck could have potential if the aftermarket will bring up something.
Also i would say ( without any research ) that a cybertruck has A: more range than your averrage offroad truck B: Wastes less energy by rockcrawling than an ICE since it doesnt really have to "build up" the torque, its just there, you mainly drive super slow.
So thats a plus aswell.
You could drive to a camping area every 2 days or so to plug it in for 30 minutes or so.
The door button isn't capacitive. It's a physical button.
That looks like Iceland to me.❤
I did not know you have no electricity in Canada. How quaint.
I shall put visiting such a interesting poor country in my bucket list
when i have time for traveling.
Maybe when i go into retirement sometimes in the next 30 years. I'm only 60 after all.
Have you even driven it or written in? How can you give an objective opinion on what the options are?
Why a glass roof?
You would probably put your roof rack and cover up the whole thing
Dont take it off road. You cant fix it, you cant get spare parts, you wont get road side assist ,3 months waiting list for service. Ohhhh no spare tire.
Few minutes in and wondering when you address the videos coming out that show this thing is an overweight turd when “off-road”. There is a reason why the first rivian r1t I witnessed on the road was in Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. 3 years later, I see one in Custer with 2 guys that don’t know how to start a fire, but they had a ton of extension cords with various plug ends. It’s more of a city person trying to look like a lumberjack kind of gimmick, for now.
The fear that I would have being off road in an EV is recovering from a dead motor or battery. You can’t just put those things in Neutral and push or pull. They have a tow mode that you can put a Tesla into but the vehicle needs to be ‘ON’ in order to do this from the screen. Feels like a potential to have a literal “5000 lbs brick” that you are stuck with out in the forest.
Yes, great fear. Do you always break down without gazoline and a broken camshaft? Or are you just afraid of those dangerous electrons?
When the Cybertruck was first shown I thought for sure they were disguising the exterior before eventually unveiling the actual body style. Not so lucky! That thing is sooo ugly! But maybe, I thought, it’ll be much better looking in person. Well, I walked by one in a parking lot about a week ago. Nope, it’s absolutely hideous! And huge! Definitely not my style for sure...
All electric trucks have one big issue - towing range. You can tow a lot, but after 100 miles you need to stop for a full recharge. Off-road range of this thing is also questionable
Depends on the rig, and obviously what you are towing, boxy poor aero is worst. Think of cutting range in half normally as a rough rule of thumb.
@@Mrbfgray For electric trucks (judging from F150 lightning towing experience) - its 1/3 of the range at best. Even worse in the winter. Electric trucks are for people who like the benefits of EV and like to daily drive trucks without actually doing any real-life truck job - like towing or carrying load.
@@slavakuznetsov4966 In a situation where a diesel truck loses nearly 2/3s of range yes, otherwise no, cold aside where a well designed BEV loses 15-20% (in Norway say). ICE vehicles lose range in the cold too, I used to take 20 or 30 minutes idle time just to thaw out my 1-ton duely on a 10 or 20F morning, not necessary on an EV where u just set it to preheat by itself or from your phone.
Cold aside there's only one reason a BEV loses more range towing than a traditional truck, relative aerodynamics. Typical diesel already punching big hole in air without a trailer.
What are you towing? An 8X8ft flat faced box trailer?
@@Mrbfgray i normally don't tow much other then my boat at the moment, but will probably get a camper trailer. But my gym buddy told me a story how he had to tow a horse trailer with two animals (not sure the exact configuration) with F150 lightning at -20C. He didn't make it and half-way to his destination, he had to look for a charger. The animals were freezing, he had to call somebody with a regular truck for backup. He hated this thing, and got rid of it shortly after. Another thing he mentioned - it was very hard to estimate the remaining range as something funky happens as the battery gets depleted under the towing load. It may gradually go down to 30% and then it may quickly drop to 10% . He really hated the permanent feeling of anxiety of having to look for an emergency charger, and not just any charger would work. Range and recharging is a big problem for all EV, but trucks in particular. Diesel or gas - just stop to refuel, good to go, EV truck - probably looking at 2 h for every 100 miles of towing.
@@slavakuznetsov4966 Yeah that's legacy auto for you, Ford's first go at it, nothing like a Tesla which will charge much faster and chargers that actually work all the time, just plug in and walk away. Charging experience in America is crap except for Tesla network. And Ford doesn't have the efficient thermal management of a Tesla, no one does, all the rest lose much more in the cold.
Legacy software is very poor in comparison in everyway. Teslas will tell exactly how far you can go, trailer or not, and list the chargers you can reach at exactly what state of charge you'll have, how many are available, everything you need to know.
CT will charge from 15% to 85% in 20 minutes and cost small fraction of a diesel or gas.
Ford CEO Jim Farley took a Lightening for road trip and was shocked how bad the charging experience was. Hence they were the first to make a deal with Tesla, all the rest followed suit, to have access to a substantial fraction of Tesla chargers in coming yrs. For now you can only take a Tesla out of town.
Projected sales for 2024 are on par with gladiator. 2025 projected sales start moving towards Tacoma numbers. Does anyone honestly believe that? I can’t.
Gladiator sales numbers are in the dumpster so not sure that's a good reference haha
@Casey250 yeah, I don’t think this thing will ever surpass gladiator sales numbers. They are both niche vehicles. It’s worse off road and nobody knows how it will do in a U.P. or eagle river winter while towing. My guess, not great in the range department.
The world will be saved by the adoption of wind up vehicles.
Financing a meme.
I'm gonna be the heretic in the group. I can't stand Tesla or EV's at all. I don't trust them and their big battery banks along with their massive cost of repair. The ranges are horrid compared to a traditional internal combustion motor and they are incredibly inefficient overall. Plus they're hideous to boot. The tech isn't where it needs to be yet. Why spend 30+ minutes at a gas station supercharger vs 5 minutes at the pump? Repair parts for EV's are hard to get in major cities, let alone in the middle of nowhere. Also, when an EV breaks down or runs out of battery, who and what gets called out to recover it? A gas or diesel vehicle with a gas generator to recharge it. This really defeats the purpose of an EV. And the "carbon footprint" of a single Tesla takes 20% longer to offset than a regular gas car once you factor in the cost of mining lithium and manufacturing. Sorry not sorry but hard pass. 249mi standard range on a single charge is hilariously laughable. Even the Jeeps have a better range with their horrible fuel economy.
The only reason people want this Monstrosity of a truck, Is because it's Bullet proof to small caliber firearms!
Its now known that EVs have 80 % more problems .. and Ford Lightning is not Selling..
Not true. Teslas (at least some models) have best reliability of any car according to new Consumers Reports ranking, even tho CR is 'owned' by Ford and often gives Tesla negative bias.
You said 'it is now known that EVs have 80% more problems.' But don't leave out that it is the non-Tesla brands that pull the average down. For reliability, Tesla is still only #14 of 30 brands sold in the USA. But Tesla soundly beat bottom brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Rivian.
(2022, Consumer Report).
All non Tesla EV's are struggling to sell. But you can't compare Tesla vehicles to other EV's. They are completely different things.
@@incomingincoming1133 Also the rankings are typically ridiculously skewed against Tesla bc most "issues" are trivial, fixed over the air, while all other brands require a trip to dealer. Yet they count a trivial software mod the same as the wheels falling off the Toyotas.
You need recheck those facts , November sales of the lighting were up over 100% from October sales. 4400 units sold in Nov.
Cybertruck is full of electronics which won't "stand up" to serious off roading.
Really? Based on what evidence exactly? Ffs 🙄
There's a reason real trucks have a full frame and not a unibody . Even Sandy confirmed it's not an exoskeleton. It's a Model y for the most part with a different body and air lift suspension.
Something to keep in mind with Eva is that they have regenerative braking where the motors work in reverse to help slow down, while feeding power back into the battery.
The TFL guys have a video where they drove up Pike's Peak where the EV had close the the same state of charge when they got back to the bottom.
Also, if yo like to camp out for a couple days like I do, and you have roll out canopies, put some PV cells on there to add some charge back into the battery.
And if you have a transfer switch to run your house on a generator, plug that into the 240v outlet in the bed of the Cybertruck, Lightning, and upcoming Silverado to power your home for a couple of days in a power outage.
Power a house for maybe a couple weeks.
I think its a shame Tesla didn't design in access to the bed from the cab.
Fold down or remove the rear seats, close the bed down and put it into camping mode now that would have been amazing.
Haha, you've clearly never used solar before. You would need a solar farm bigger than the truck to put any meaningful power back into a battery that size. 🤣
great video . I have a reservation lets see how this truck performs . the range extender takes some of the bed but is a great option . I sold trucks in texas for years and many truck owners added a tool box turned into a diesel tank for long trips that also took a big chunk of the bed .
Yes but I see extender as something of a patch, a bridge to higher E-density cells expected in coming yrs that will give much better range in same batt pack, maybe 20 to 30% better. Extender located in bed is suboptimal in several ways *unless* one can quickly and easily remove/reinstall it when needed--not likely. Just the same it's a great option to have for the few who really need it.
@@Mrbfgray 10 years from now. Not earlier. Until then you are "limited" to 340 miles. WoW!
My suggestion as a Jeep owner that also has a Tesla is to maybe get a 3 or Y to “acclimate” to the EV experience before getting a EV truck to take off-road. At least you can get over range anxiety and be more familiar with how EV’s operate because they are much different driving than gas vehicles.
You can also charge at campsites off the rv plugs overnight
Like there's RV plugs in the middle of Nowhere, Like the places Casey and his friends go!
@@Gerry-KTesla fans think off roading is a dirt road.
With EV you should lose less range going slow than on gas/diesel since it does use fuel when standing plus you recharge your batteries when going downhill. So, doing extreme off-roading you’ll likely get less range but usually you don’t do a lot of miles rock crawling… most of the way is just driving slow which is where EVs shine
I sold my JKU this year in preparation for my Cybertruck.
Tesla should use the under the bed space for a smaller battery/range extender.
That tiny space might get you 10 extra miles.
Casey, I’m sorry but that thing is soooooooooo ugly, it could make a train take a dirt road. They couldn’t pay me enough money to dive that thing!!
It’s so ugly it’s cool.
The Cybertruck is just too beautiful. I wouldnt want to treat it rough. I wonder how it would look in marble white. It's lines are so architectural. Too beautiful for the trail.
😂🤣Thats a new one! Funny.
I think the Cybertruck is U-G-LEE, but then again so are Jeeps. This isn't your hard core, or capable of being modified into a hard core off-roader. Now can a huge aftermarket develope? Will you see a Cybertruck climbing rocks? Maybe but it has a long way to catch up to a Jeep. I don't see flex capability, lift capability. Power and torque, sure, more than enough. Electric vehicles, on and off-road are the future, but that future isn't hear yet. The majority of Jeep owners never go off-road, if they do it's minimal trails. Will the Cybertruck do that, sure. If Jeep will slap a "Trail Rate" badge on an old Liberity, they slap it on the Cybertruck, if it was a Jeep! ;) With that said as a Tesla stock holder I love these Tesla vehicles, but I drive a Jeep!
Ranges should increase significantly in coming yrs as they improve their new 4680 cell chemistries, on the order of 20 or 30% seems likely, you won't get the CT in 3 yrs if ordered today, over 2M preorders tho maybe only 1M will go thru with order, more orders will be added.
All cams can be displayed as small sections of 18-1/2" screen, rear view in particular given there is no center mirror, use turn signal before changing lanes and that side cam will come up if set as such, and so on.
Air suspension. Might enjoy Jason Carmissa vids on it.
In the US only Tesla chargers are any good, CHAdeMO I hear is pretty good too.
Failed to mention *steer by wire* which eliminates hand over hand steering, lock to lock in less than 360 degrees, *rear wheel* steer up to 10 deg!
Tesla also known for exceptional sound systems.
you’ll need a CHAdeMO charging adapter for your Tesla if you’re relying on CHAdeMO chargers. But most chargers have problems, except for Tesla SuperChargers.
The tent you show in this video still allows plenty of storage space underneath. Don't forget sub bed, & fronk.
This is unlike any other vehicle and fits in its own category. To compare it to a pickup, SUV, Jeep is to miss the point. Thinks art+software. It pushes the envelope.
Yea, because comparing it to a Jeep or pickup, it falls far short. It only looks good in a vacuum.
Can’t wait to see your review in the field
After Opening the exterior door everything you need to run Inside can be done with voice command.
If someone hasnt told you already the rooftop tent doesnt sit in the bed it sits above the bed of the cybertruck, also the cybertruck is going for 80% of the market and i dont think your in the 80% casy250 compared to the size of the addressable market
First time watching your channel, great vid, welcome to the EV world
Lots of fear in these channels…
I'm pretty sure from looking at other videos that the buttons for the door and tonneau cover on the outside are real clicky buttons
I saw them at Hollister Hills off-road testing. Made a video got me 250,000 views. The air suspension is a deal breaker for me. They are all over here in Northern California.
The only way to make it look less ugly is to put a space camper on it.
If it's new to you it may grow on you over time as it has for many of us, also it's far better in person by all accounts.
To me it makes ALL other PUs look like feminine grandma's grocery getters, cheap chrome plastic fake grills, fragile crap w ridiculous, often grotesque, cheesy styling just to make it LOOK different than lest yr.
@@Mrbfgray have you seen the space camper?
I don't know... I can think of some scenarios where my (lifted) Cherokee trailhawk would beat it.
You pretty much have to have a lifted Wrangler or lifted gladiator or lifted XJ, lifted xj , or 4runner maybe to beat a (lifted) Cherokee Trailhawk. Thats pretty much it.
Base Camp sites on top of the bed. You can lock your gear in the truck bed and use the base camp at the same time.
Bro, you do realize that the range extender is a battery pack that Tesla installs into the box. It takes up 2' of the box, and another 3' for a spare leaves you with 1' of storage depth. It's a cool truck but that sucks. Also what sucks is the drop panel at the rear. Really limits the departure angle. The front will not take larger tires, as the A arm will not allow it due to a the fact that it wraps over the tire, limiting it's clearance. The only way you could get larger tires is by using significant spacers or replacing the A arms. Clearance and power of the CT is amazing.
if you be gettting a CT look up the tesla network, its possible to charge a tesla from chatamo standard plug, but you will need an adapter, may be cheeper to grab a 240 volt generator, and run and plug that in to your tesla, but there is a difference, the Nacs (North American Charging Standard) me thinks, is what tesla runs on.
OK well what does it matter if they've only delivered 12 or so in 14 days? At this point cybertruck is nothing - they can't make the batteries that go in the truck.; no batteries no trucks - is that element included in your comments?
Why would you want to buy a cyber truck and do all that BS to it it doesn't make no sense I don't think you got 70k or 100k depending on what model you choose to tear it up with stupid ass mods you ain't even going to be able to afford one
Cybertruck should make for an awesome offroading vehicle that would be great for camping.
However, some things to keep in mind. That range is in optimal conditions. Real world conditions will reduce range about 10%. Then also consider off road tires and bigger tires will also reduce range. Temperature will reduce range, and cargo will also reduce range.
To be safe, I would assume only about 70% to 75% of the range gor your purposes. Still, you should have over 500 KM of range with the extendor.
Tesla only gets about 70% of the claimed range on a smooth highway. They are going to be a laughingstock off riad.
@@TroySavary In my experience, my Tesla is closer to 85% to 90%. You only see a big reduction if you speed a lot.
@@wisemanofsorts6068 70 mph isn't speeding.
Did you say you have a supercharged jeep? I'll be right back lol you have gained a new subscriber
When will the six wheel Cybertruck come out? Do you think it’s possible to put battery extender under the rear seat?
Non-Tesla chargers are trash; absolute trash. Do not count on them when planning a trip or you'll be sorry.
The Tesla Tent accessory sits OVER the truck bed so no need to remove the items in your truck bed.
Dude those prices, i mean, if you can afford a Cybertruck its maybe not that much but damn.
All that comes to mind looking at this is Pontiac Aztec all over again
But im not crazy abt its power source. Not practical.
The only pple who can do pms on that thing are tesla.
You can have all your cargo under the tent.
I want this…grow food yourself lol
Not tesla related. (but it could be) What do you think of Helltraxx since you also do winter offroading/overlanding?
Not for me. Pain to haul around and I have to take a ferry often so it's a huge pain.
cybertruck is ugly
Thanks for an honest and thorough review!! That doesn’t happen often.
Glad it was helpful!
Good reveiw
50 kw chatamo is not going to work, very old probably. Slow with adapter and probably not very reliable. Tesla superchargers are really the only reliable source to charge. That’s in the US anyway. Yes, others work but don’t count on it.
The only problems I see so far are 1. The factory tires are really more like truck highway tires disguised to look like All Terrain or Mud & Snow - but they really aren't. They are designed for high fuel efficiency/range. and 2. Not sure about the breakover angle. Clearance is good, but it looks like a lot of distance between the front tires and the back tires. I'll keep watching.
Add to this the fact that the more you increase the weight the worse the milage. I know a fella that had a Ford Lightning. He got rid of it because when he loaded up the bed and got on the highway he ran out of charge in about 90 miles. I believe they advertise 200 plus miles per charge.
I have my Cybertruck on order for about a year now. I expect it will take a few years to get it still. Lol
Gives you time to save up 3 years of payments.
Looks like you're not aware of the company that's making a rooftop camper for this. It's called Space Campers.
I have seen too many vids and horror stories of EV "trucks" doing truck things like towing. I am so interested in seeing REAL world mileage with the Cyber truck doing truck things....
Base Cybertruck will be less than 150 miles towing and bigger battery one will be less than 200.
My problem is that assuming you have the extender and spare tire which of course you need then you won’t be able to access the rear storage bin that will be under the heavy tire.
This would be a vehicle where those expensive upgrades would be an absolute must. The thing is, by the time a person is nearing a place on the list where you can finally get your hands on one, I’m sure Jeep will have already come out with their EV.
Is it winch compatible?
I will take jeep over this joke of a truck anyday of the week. There's a reason real trucks have full frame. People completely ignore that about 40% of fords truck sales are their 250,350 & 450 heavy duty trucks. The cyber will never replace heavy duty truck chassis used for Motorhomes , box trucks , slide bed tow trucks ect . The cyber is usless for any of those applications. They should have just marketed it for what it is , a muscle truck for the street and strip. It worthless for hauling with its dinky bed . Its towing range is not even in the same league as a heavy duty desiel truck. Just like the semi its ridiculas.
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
To heavy, catches to much attention, not gas, not reliable enough to take through the rubicon, and wayyy to big to fit in between trees and rocks. I could never
🤮
Camping with everything based on electricity. All eggs in the electrical basket, hope it doesnt fail. One electrical fire and into survival mode with no electrical gear.
One gasoline or diesel fire in an ICE vehicle (which is far more likely) - guess what - survival mode.
Yes capable off road.. But..consider on trail repair capability and repair parts costs.
Cant tow anything anywhere interesting..
Farm/ city truck or use your 1500 to tow it to the trail and back.
