Minimum Wage Negotiation Between Govt. Organised Labour Deadlocked

The meeting called by the federal government on Wednesday to discuss the national minimum wage for workers ended abruptly as leaders of organised labour staged a walk-out. The Labour leaders condemned the federal government’s proposed N48,000 minimum wage.

The Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage will reconvene on Tuesday, May 23 to further negotiate a reasonable new minimum wage for workers, after organised labour walked out of the negotiation.
