I think it was just too plain. I think it was fine but I guess it kind of toned her down too much and somewhat aged her. The rest are horror shows (except weirdly, I thought Timothee's looked okay - I have seen a lot worse that that!).

Selena's dress is not flattering at all. The shape is wrong for her body, it makes her look stocky. About the gown, the asymmetric cut is cool but it's too puffy. She is 5'4", she has a voluptuous body, so a siren dress would have been so much flattering on her. I think a much taller person with long legs can pull out that dress. Also, the upper part of the dress is too full of details. The skirt itself is so original that it doesn't need lots of decorations on the bodice.
Out of these picks Selena Gomez and Emily Blunt's were the best dressed by far... Both their outfits screams chic and timeless elegance Selena and Emily never dissapoints when it comes to event galas or award evening events

Selena, Jennifer L., Justin H, Timothee, Emily Blunt, and Johnathan all looked perfectly fine if not gorgeous.... They all don't need to fit into the "basic boring" expectations from most people that want the guideline Golden Globe looks. I agree the looks for the event should be elegant and higher end fashion, but I don't think any of these ones mentioned missed any mark of that. Justins was unique and not boring black tuxedo and it matched his wife's dress. Jennifer L's hair was perfect and the dress was a beautiful velvet black. Selena's dress was sexy and bizarrely eye catching making your eye dance about with the shape and design. (Selena always gets bashed for dresses not sure why) Emilys was really pretty with the detailing and small designs, the tulle maybe could have been more flowy but it was still pretty. Johnathan maybe could have had an accessory or two added but the all white was fine. I want to see what they think is best dressed if this is the WORST?....

I'm no fan of Chalemet, but I thought he looked great.
