Hi George , I’ve been through hell with miss fires started on cilindre 8 swap coils positions ended up on 7 4 and 6 miss fires swap all the sparks, same as yours, the problem was now on cilindre 5. bought 8 coils from eBay “surefire” which they looked good quality, after installing them sounded slightly better but still rough low revs and amber engine light came up while driving home. What a nightmare
Sorry to hear mate! The lesson I learnt from this is while BMW coils are expensive, they are worth it! Mine hasn’t missed a beat since! Hope you get it sorted! George 🤙🏻
I just replaced cylinder 6 as this was the misfire code. We moved the coil around and checked the code to check that was the coil that was faulty and then replaced with the BMW part. For such key components as these I will always use BMW parts ☺️
Had exactly the same on mine. Faulty coil cylinder 5. Bought a cheap one from Autodoc, didn’t work. Ended up with BMW one. These cars are getting very clever and fussy. Same thing with brake pad wear sensors. Non BMW ones wouldn’t re-set.
Have you ever had misfires on all the 8 cylinders at the same time at cold only and the needle oscillates between 2 000 & 500 rpm at cold start ? (2B4E fault code)
Great video bud, yeah shame about the supplied coil, unfortunately it's quite a common issue with parts just not being the quality you'd expect with euros, so best to stay away if you're chasing those pesky misfires.
hey I have a question my car has been misfiring cylinder 1-4 well it says bank 1 and I can't find a solution and it keeps going into limp mode when im slowing down or creep up to a stop sign and wondering if you know what it could be?
@@FlagnarBoobz you'll never guess what it was but I swapped the coils around and still would pop up and it turned out to be the exhaust donut that connects the manifold to the x pipe

Hey bud! Thank you! The coils were meat & Doria from euro car parts , I would stay away and only get bmw coils directly! Thanks George 😁

FLOORit yeah mate no worries, I’ll try and make sure I’ll bring my mini instead of my Subaru next time 😁

I have not! But it sounds like a spark plug issue to me 👌🏻

Thanks Matt! Yeah it was worth a try anyway! Works a dream now 👌🏻 cheers George
How much did it cost I’ve got the same problem kind regards Mem
Select is near reading UK , cost will vary as part is from BMW and labour will need to be quoted for the work ☺️
What was the cost for all this?
Coil from bmw was about £140 , plugs about £40 from euro car parts and work was about about 200 but will vary by garage! 😁
How many cylinders were misfiring for you?
Just the one
My m3 misfired 1-4
And where is select

Coil packs or injectors are the things to look at mate

What fault code you get
This was a EML light on the dash rather than an I drive code. But once read it showed up as Cylinder 6 misfire 😊
