Waffenkleid is a poetic word for uniform. Untill 1918 the word "Des Kaisersrock" was in use. Literally translated the Emporers skirt but it means uniform.

I think it means "SS in black battle dress". Waffen meaning (Weapon, Armed) and Kleid sounds like "Kleidung" or clothing. So I'd assume it means that.

"Königsrock", "Uniform" and now Waffenkleid.
