- Harsha belonged to Pushyabhuti Dynasty or Vardhana Dynasty which ruled over Punjab and Haryana region in ancient India around 6th and 7th Century A.D.
Harshavardhana established his rule over a large part of India especially northern India but faced opposition from Shashanka of Gauda in the east and Chalukya king of Badami in the South.
