It was honestly a very close and exciting game. Bad mistakes by both teams could have swung the game in either direction. Just think what would have been if the UM punt returner knocked the ball inside the end zone. It would have either been an Alabama safety or TD. UM was very fortunate to have the ball die right at the half yard line and recovered there. They made it to OT and finished it from there. If Bama won, the headline would have been the exact opposite. It was an imperfect game yet exciting and competitive none the less.
Being a bama fan, I have to agree that Saban got outcoached. Seemed like he didn’t trust Milroe passing in big moments in this game and didn’t stick to our gameplan. We took Michigan for granted it seems
Can we report he hired that agent a month ago while working on his contract at Michigan? Just because ESPN decided to report about it this week doesn't mean it just happened this week.
This goes to show you how great Jim really is. He don’t recruit anywhere near OSU or Alabama. But yet he still wins. If he would’ve gotten rid of Don Brown earlier then he did, his record would’ve looked better because Brown sucks. Saban is great because he’s the best recruiter in the country. As a Michigan fan, beating Bama was almost more satisfying than beating Washington…I know it was a down year for Bama but they are normally coached very well and it is still a great achievement for a program that was down for what seems like a few decades.
Paul Finebaum's career has been largely marketing the SEC. He might as well be talking about NASCAR. This was about Michigan matching Alabama's enormous offensive line and sacking the QB. This was about a athletic but very limited Alabama QB. Alabama is one dimensional and largely about muscle over strategy. Michigan is a complete team and Washington is a complete team.
I don't remember who broke down that last play by Alabama, but it was a lot closer to being a TD than it looks.. if the right guard (I believe it was) didn't get blown into the backfield, I think Milroe scores on that play
Bama had success with that play, Milroe ran up the gut to the one for Bama's second TD! He had 60+ yards off of that play. Nevertheless, Michigan's D-line got great penetration on that play and did so consistently all game. Personally, I would have ran RPO to give my player a better chance but I think Michigan would have stopped that as well. Go Blue 〽️ Michigan vs Everybody
I really didn’t c the hype on Milroe I think he is at least 60% responsible for those 6 sacks and don’t forget the fumble that killed our momentum if we would have scored on that possession dude been average and was below average . The real MVP our our punter and kicker
As a Michigan fan, honestly that's not fair! Blame Milroe's offensive coordinators and coaches for his sacks and the plays ran! They schemed the protections and called the plays! They didn't have a consistent answer for Michigan's defense period! Who called the last play of the game? Milroy didn't call his own number! Saban called a timeout and that's the play they came up with. Despite the fact that Michigan's defensive line had been dominating Bama's o-line for much of the game! Not to mention all the low snaps Milroe had to deal with. So to blame the QB who kept Bama in the game is ridiculous! Now don't get it twisted, Michigan also played a subpar game! A muffed punt return which led to Bama's first TD. A missed XP, a missed FG. A muffed punt return that almost led to a safety! All which killed momentum! So don't act like it was just Bama dealing with miscues! At the end of the day, Michigan was the better team plain and simple. Go Blue 〽️ Michigan vs Everybody
@@anonymousbiscuit5799and whose fault was that! The Georgia kids they could’ve opted out didn’t. So those are the guys they let Florida State down and their fans. Did you expect Georgia just had to play?
I live in PA and first and foremost a Penn State fan. But I also am an Alabama fan. So I think I can be somewhat objective regarding this Alabama team. Arguably this is Saben’s best coaching year. He took a team that early in the season looked to me to easily lose 3 or more games to the semi-finals. The talent level was not up to Alabama standards IMHO. Especially the Oline and receivers. Yet they ended the regular season with only one loss. Michigan won because they were a more physical team all around. Glad to see Jase McClellen have a really good game, as it may be his last with the Crimson Tide.
The only way Saban was out coached was by having a centre that cant reliably snap the football in shotgun formation. 56 of Alabama effectively cost them the game with two bad snaps in regulation taking them out of FG range.
I think mostly Michigan is just a better team . Alabama just ran out of luck . We were extremely lucky beating Auburn , could hv easily lost that one and the Georgia game could hv gone either way . Still proud of Alabama this year .
most sensible Bama fan take I've seen all year,.... it's honest, and doesn't mean y'all weren't good, but luck plays a large part in this thing sometimes, and it's 100% why you settle it on the field. With that said, go Noles.... would have been nice to see a team without opt-outs and transfers playing against somebody yesterday. Only true way to hush all the speculation is let an undefeated conference champ who won at all costs in and if they get rolled....so be it, but you can't know the outcome without the head-to-head match up.
I think the flea flicker from the 40 yard line after the turnover was a PERFECT time to run it. Perfect time to take a big shot and perfect place on the field to do it. It just didn't work out.
But everyone was saying if you want to be the best you have to play the best! Well obviously Michigan must be the best!!! Everything that has been thrown at them, they have overcome! Now because Bama lost it’s not their best team! HELLO! Keep finding excuses!!! That pride Alabama has just fell! Like the Bible says Pride comes before fall!!!
Considering the number of special-teams mistakes that Michigan made, most other teams would never have beaten Alabama with that poor of a showing on the basics. Alabama is really good at capitalizing on your mistakes .
Disagree as well, Michigan muffed 2 punt returns, lost one on the 30 and fumlbed 1 of them down to 1 yard line, also missed a extra point. And missed a field goal, and missed two wide open throws both behind reciever and still beat bama
Agree. Most people think "mistakes" are only the big, visible plays (fumbles, drops, etc). Blown coverages, blocking assignments, etc probably figure more than most think.
If you look closely at the goal-line stop; you will see that Milroe was tripped up by running into the back of the leg of one of his linemen who had been pushed into the backfield. After the play the lineman is even holding his left leg in obvious pain at the end while on the ground.
When your offensive coordinator can’t recognize zone coverage from the press box, your team has no chance. 9 yard cushion from cornerbacks and not one hitch route. Just stand up and throw it to the receiver with that kind of cushion. Easy pitch and catch for 5 yards every play.
It looked like Michigan more than anything just had better players that executed. Alabama's 2nd half seemed like a different team than the 1st half. All game though that Michigan pass rush was ripping through the line
Everyone is losing their mind over the last play call.....but, winning the coin toss and deferring to get the sun at their backs to start the game was genius. It was the cause of the muffed punt and subsequent first score

Wow, all those five stars ⭐️ who couldn’t win against mainly three/four stars ⭐️
Easy to scheme when you have all the signs. This was even explained live on air and his school imposed the suspension. Anyways grats to mich. Not the kids' fault.
@@nickcampbell2222 you’re still giving me that excuse. Alabama changed their signs months ago. Stop with the excuses.
@@ChrisMusson-kv8ph can't pretend like it didn't happen in the past.
As for this game? You think preparing for a team who is a known cheater doesn't change things? These kids couldn't even study the way they typically do. They had to change because mich was stealing signs... Even if it didn't happen for this game it's still a huge integrity issue and resulted in teams having to prepare for THAT.
Look, Nick Saban is a good coach, but could we cool it with all this GOAT stuff all the time. Paul Finebaum has been the worst offender of this.
Rob, This was a game between 5th year Seniors against 5 star Juniors/Sophomores.
Finebaum is dumbfounded. How sweet it is! Go Blue! 😂😂😂〽️💛💙
Michigan shot themselves so many times this game. Good thing there defense stepped up.
You aint lying...
Special teams did their absolute best to throw the game

Truly expected Paul to cry a few tears
He’s dead on the inside
Between his orgasmic bias for all things SEC and his hatred for Michigan, Paul definitely cried before doing the show this morning lol
Can we request Paul to be transfer portal to NFL?
Or Siberia, either’s fine
Love how they cant even talk Michigan football winning without making 95% of the show about Harbaugh to the NFL
Like they won't even let it sit that Alabama the team they strong armed to get in to try and take Michigan out failed
Michigan will not be STOPPED!
So glad we got to see an sec suck in the playoffs
Not to mention incoming Texas losing also😂
B1G 2-0 against the SEC in the playoff last night
Suck? Lol lost in OT
That's why Saban went after Huskies OC Grubs last season but turned it down.
Awesome game. These games are way better than any NFL game period.
The NFL might want Harbaugh but they don’t seem to want Nick Sabin.
Naturally Finebaum doesn’t give Michigan any credit for having good players. His rhetoric was Alabama messed up. Alabama’s offensive line didn’t play good. Alabama’s coaches didn’t make the adjustments. He reluctantly said that Michigan MIGHT be the best team in the country after he’s been saying for quite a while that the only way they were winning because they cheated.
Uncle Nick is on cruise control. Between his car dealerships, TV commercials & his lake house, he's too busy to be troubled with running a program. As an LSU fan, I'm glad he's preoccupied. 💪🐅🎵🎶💜💛🏈
Michigan drinks on us whenever yall enter Tallahassee
Finebaum was dying on the inside.
Leave Alabama to go play Lacrosse? Someone is saying skip football I need to prepare for my corporate career.
Yeah, it's a weird move, but some of these guys have other dreams or already come from money.
I have to notice the NFL might want Harb
It was honestly a very close and exciting game. Bad mistakes by both teams could have swung the game in either direction. Just think what would have been if the UM punt returner knocked the ball inside the end zone. It would have either been an Alabama safety or TD. UM was very fortunate to have the ball die right at the half yard line and recovered there. They made it to OT and finished it from there. If Bama won, the headline would have been the exact opposite. It was an imperfect game yet exciting and competitive none the less.
I mean, in reality, it was a crap game won by the team willing to cheat. Both teams tried to lose.
Even the best coach can be out coached for one game. Bama got blown out in that one championship game vs Clemson in 2018.
Being a bama fan, I have to agree that Saban got outcoached. Seemed like he didn’t trust Milroe passing in big moments in this game and didn’t stick to our gameplan. We took Michigan for granted it seems
Great comment and not to pour salt into your wound but remember we didn't play anyone. Does this at least say something about our team.
Harbaugh hired Don Yee literal MONTHS ago. What is this fascination ESPN has with misrepresenting Harbaugh? It's laughable.
Rees isn't a Lane Kiffin or Sarkisian. He's more Bill O'Brien.
Bill was right about Milroe and this game showed it.

When he had to coach with mediocre players he couldn’t achieve.
This is a ridiculous statement. Harbaugh isn’t great. His record speaks for itself: he’s good, but hardly great. Saban, on the other hand, has a record that proves he is the GOAT. He’s done it with multiple coaches and players for a long time, so please. Sell that nonsense elsewhere.
@@oleboy7615 Harbaugh brought an under recruited team to the playoffs 3 years in a row and is going to the Natty. He brought an NFL team to the Super Bowl and almost won. Saban in the NFL: Fired.
@oleboy7615 he's talking about the talent level is why Harbaugh is a great coach
Bro Michigan has 24 players from Ohio. What do you mean he don’t recruit from here. I gotta ask man. Where the heck did you come up with that statement at?
@@Bowhunterohiohe didn't say geographically Michigan doesn't recruit near OSU. He's talking about the talent level OSU recruits at, not where the players are from.
Excellent analysis
Stop talking about Uga. They struggled down the stretch. They only beat Ga Tech 31-23. They lost to Bama. Case closed. They blew their shot
We lost by three 3. They gave them that catch to get those 3 points and that’s the first lost in two and half years but ok.👍🏾
And you beat Maryland 31-24. So what's your point. TCU beat you last year and we dismantled them in the championship. We beat the breaks off you 2021 and would've done so again this year. Y'all talking a lot of crap and you haven't won the Natty yet, don't be disappointed!
I just wish we could’ve played Iowa in our championship game. And had Ohio State as our toughest opponent in the regular season. Would’ve been undefeated like Michigan for sure.
@@breakhal We are talking about this year , not the past .
Accept the loss with a little class and stop your crying. Bama should have never been in the top four and Michigan proved it . Bama was confused , outplayed and outcoached. Bama proved that they couldn't compete in most other divisions .
True
Taylor Lewan is smiling so big on the inside. Lol
I do think Saban should've called a timeout on the 4th and 2 deep in Michigan territory so the D would be ready. This could've forced Harbaugh to use a Timeout as well or maybe change his mind and punt. If UM doesn't convert it would've been ball game.
Why does it have to be outcoached? Players make plays. Can we just accept this was a 50/50 game and tip our caps to Michigan? This is the best Michigan team in 75 years or maybe ever.
If Bama had won I'm sure they trash Harbaugh over the flea flicker? Bama had shut down the Michigan Offense for 20 minutes in the 2nd half. Michigan was looking for a spark w/ that call.
I'm a lifelong Bama fan(over 45yrs) It showed me that Michigan's Senior laden team refused to lose. I want to send congrats to Michigan and their fans. I think both fanbases had to see it to believe it. They know how big of a hurdle Alabama is. They deserve to be proud and excited. My only advice is focus on the task in front of you. Washington's Offense looks insane. Good luck Wolverines!
I have to say in general Alabama fans are some of the classiest fans out there. I’ve seen it all over comment sections today and in person with Alabama fans I know. Go blue!
If you're happy with the Saban result, I truly love it! I understand that this is your coping mechanism but since the selection committee arrangements Michigan's coach wasn't qualified to hold Saban's toothbrush. So now all the big mouths have to atone...
Saban was spotted at least 11 points and still lost? As far as Washington is concerned the QB and head coach have been in the Big Ten for three or four years prior so I'm sure they got this...look at it this way, if Michigan can beat Alabama they can beat anybody. My only advice is to enjoy fishing and Life!
@@brokentubing I love the personal jab. This soulds like a guy with Napolean Complex. I live in Brickell(Miami) and I'm not big into fishing.
Your team has a veteran roster. The program has one split title in 75 years and it's people like you that have had this script ready for years. Nobody is confident down 7 with under 5 to play. Michigan was shut down in the 2nd half till the last drive.
Michigan has a roster of 5th year Seniors and is a grown man team. Let's see what happens after you turn your roster. You do play another game? A team with 5th year Seniors in Washington. Good luck.
I'm sure your own fanbase doesn't like you.
You want to bash the best coach of all time? 6 Titles since 09.

@@tedunseth3966 It was a 'GREAT GAME' until the dumbest of excuses came into the conversation. You are saying that Michigan has a bunch of veterans and 5th year players...2 & 3 star players right? Alabama has a bunch of 5-star players, right? The best from what I'm told coach in the history of football got fooled by simple motions and shifts?
'Bama fans attack opposing fans relentlessly before the game. Go into child-like behavior after a loss. I've had to tell a lot of foes "great game and look forward to the next meeting." I hope you've noticed the period?

@@brokentubing I've been a Bama fan for over 45 years. I don't like a lot of the new generation that feels entitled to winning. A CFP birth is a good season.
I've stated many times that BOTH Michigan and Washington have grown men on their teams. They are very good teams. We will see what a reload looks like next year for both.
A 5th year Senior 3 star can play w/ any 5 star that is 2-3 years younger. Transfer portal might be the answer to Bama/UGA top 2 yearly recruiting classes.
I never felt comfortable in this game. It's not an excuse when I feel Saban should've called a timeout. With the game on the line you want your best play call.
Alabama should've sold out on the play. I was hoping of a Fire Blitz since you have 2 NFL corners and a true freshman star at Safety(Caleb Downs)
Does Harbaugh change his mind? Not likely. You could tell that Bama was confused on the play. At the time they've given up only 2 first downs in the 2nd half. If they make that stop they win. It's not an EXCUSE. I'm sure you believe by missing the 4th and 2 that the game would've been over.
Your team made more plays and deserved a great win. Congrats
You think all Bama fans are rednecks who likes to fish. You knew it was a negative comment. Why say it?
As a Michigan fan, beating Bama was almost more satisfying than beating Washington…I know it was a down year for Bama but they are normally coached very well and it is still a great achievement for a program that was down for what seems like a few decades.
Poor Paul finebaum
Jim Harbaugh certainly had enough rest, 6 games.
Big ten championship let’s go fellas usc fan 😂
The last play of the game was mind boggling,EVERYONE knew milroe would run it smh, a play action call would have been better
I told my husband that this game would come down to coaching and Saban got out coached. That last play was just crazy smh
Yes he was, and I’m still wondering why we called a timeout to run Milroe up the middle of a defense that had stopped that play all night.
I don't remember who broke down that last play by Alabama, but it was a lot closer to being a TD than it looks.. if the right guard (I believe it was) didn't get blown into the backfield, I think Milroe scores on that play
He’s the only player on that offense
@@troyp5359 I can’t imagine that was the play that was called. 🤷🏻♂️

@@NITTY103166 It’s one thing to run it from the 20 vs the 3, and agreed, anything but the play they ran. 🤷🏻♂️
Michigan was inspired and very disciplined why they won.😊
Milroe reminds me of Jalen Hurts, at his worst. He’s basically the Deontay Wilder of quarterbacks.

Meant Saban.
Satan
The only way Saban was out coached was by having a centre that cant reliably snap the football in shotgun formation. 56 of Alabama effectively cost them the game with two bad snaps in regulation taking them out of FG range.
🤣
He wasn’t out couched, Michagen just played better overall. Great game overall
Well tbh, we did try to hand them the game at the end with the muffed punt. Outside of that, I agree
Faul Pinebaum.
So sweet that Alabama got beat by the Second most despised team(after Florida State) by ESPN, the CFP, Herbstreit and Finebaum.
Not only was he outcoached, but they also had no offensive line at all to protect the qb.
Sec not what they were, Alabama embarrassed the SEC with lose, Michigan tried to give Alabama the ball 4 time's
It just didn't work out.
...to me everything ended perfectly
Out coached? Maybe, but Michigan just looked better, and this was NOT a great Bama team, don't get confused.
Coach said it himself go back and watch the tape. Course he was probably just being nice
Die hard Michigan fan but the team that won just had fewer mistakes
I would disagree.
He wasn't making it anyway #8 Moore moved to middle milroe wasn't making it regardless
I hate Paul

I am still wondering what happened to BAMA's Dallas Turner last night at the Rose Bowl. Was he in the stadium?
I love when Paul said "when WE got to Georgia". Guy has no objective reporting skills. Classless.
Its almost like Paul wants to Blow Saban.
I hate to say this. But has anybody thought that Michigan's oline and d line are better than Georgia and Alabama.
Two things can be true. You can be the best coach ever and one day you get out coached.
And you can also cheat
Everyone is losing their mind over the last play call.....but, winning the coin toss and deferring to get the sun at their backs to start the game was genius. It was the cause of the muffed punt and subsequent first score
