    • @featuredpatriots5814
      @featuredpatriots5814  8 лет назад +18

      Jonathan Garcia There's a number of videos out there that explain how they do it. Many of these folks work out with a strict daily regimentation that burns up a majority of the fat they consume. That explains why you rarely see many of those competing to be extremely overweight. I don't remember the concept of vomiting afterwards being a part of the equation on any of these videos.
      I do know however, that this event in the past has been sponsored by Pepto-Bismol for whatever that's worth. :-)

    • @Nite0wl8
      @Nite0wl8 8 лет назад +1

      EbonyBunny1 Eating large quantities of food and weight gain are not necessarily correlated. When you gain weight, the fat pushes against your stomach, potentially making it smaller. Many obese people actually eat less than normal sized people. As Dutton was alluding, these athletes have incredibly high metabolisms that can handle larger quantities of calories than the average person.

    • @hazard6812
      @hazard6812 8 лет назад +14

      +Alex Williamson everyone has that ability. your stomach can stretch to be pretty big. the top competitive eaters train pretty much every week to eat faster and more in a small period of time, plus their insane metabolism helps. i'd say they're athletes, though. most of the top eaters are relatively skinny/fit and it takes some pretty serious conditioning/training to do that

      From the standpoint of this specific contest, however, Stonie has beat Chestnut numerous times in other competitions.

    This is a bizarre competition, it's got to be incredibly bad for their body to eat so many likely barely chewed hotdogs in such a short period of time.

      If you think about it, it's actually much less physically damaging than say, playing football, boxing, and other sports.

      Yeah, it is bad for them. Sad thing is nobody cares. Just like football. Nobody cares that the players are destroying themselves to bring the masses brutal entertainment.

      Watzit Tuyah Are you talking about the NFL only? Because college and below usually don't play for people's entertainment. It's played mostly for fun and other reasons besides the crowd. The NFL is a business, so it's especially for the crowds entertainment.

      Definition of sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment
      Definition of athlete: a person who is proficient in sports
      Looks like it fits into context for me.
