A partir de 1991 los componentes de X Japan eran prácticamente músicos de sesión que se limitaban a grabar lo que Yoshiki componía. Yoshiki creó un monstruo musical como prolongación de su ego, y convirtió los conciertos del Dhalia Tour en ceremonias egocéntricas en las que se dedicaba a hacer el payaso (básicamente fingir que lloraba, que se desmayaba y que se ponía al borde de la muerte en los solos de batería), y a ratos tocaban alguna canción. Sus proyectos tras la disolución del grupo fueron un desastre. Se dedicó durante años a dar la matraca con Violet UK pero no pasó de sacar unos cuantos singles, así que tuvo que admitir que, si quería seguir viviendo de la música, había que continuar exprimiendo sus baladas de X Japan en interminables versiones para orquesta. Aunque cuando murió Hide prometió que jamás volvería a tocar la batería, en 2007 inició la supuesta reconstrucción del grupo sacando dos o tres sencillos (IV, Jade, Born to be wild) que suenan exactamente igual. Hicieron algunas giras en las que estaba claro que físicamente la edad les pesaba, y además el tradicional perfeccionismo del grupo se abandonó, formó una super-banda con Gackt y no sé quién más que, por supuesto, no sacó ningún material de estudio, y a día de hoy continúa siendo un holgazán que exprime como narangas arrugadas las canciones que compuso hace 30 años. Muy muy sobrevalorado este músico déspota y egocéntrico cuyo enorme talento no fue aprovechado por gandulería. Añado, además, que su utlización de la memoria de Hide en los conciertos de retorno fue grotesca (parecía que Hide no llevaba 20 años muerto sino que sucedía el día anterior, con tanta lágrima). Su utilización de la memoria de Taiji tras la muerte de éste es sencillamente indecente. Echó del grupo en 1992 al único miembro del grupo que tenía talento musical (junto a Hide), se olvidó de él durante 20 años, lo rescató para un concierto nostálgico y en los siguientes no paró de emplear la imagen del difunto para explotar su muerte. Un tipo muy triste este Yoshiki.

Tonight my girl and I reminisce about the past and how i got her out of a deadly relationship. I can't fight the feelings that i can correlate the lyrics to that past situation. No selfishness or egotistical masturbation. I saved her selflessly then, and i write this the same way.
Although still far from perfect, Toshi's English improved A LOT! If only he had this level when they started, they might've become widely internationally famous.

But this is besides the point, I'm not referring to the turbulent times they went through, I'm referring to when they were at their peak. If you watched the documentary, my comment is just reflecting what Toshi himself said, that he felt he let the band down for not delivering what was expected of him.

And like the guys that did the documentary said if they were an American band they would be the greatest and well known band. That's a misconception. A lot of people don't care about accents and stuff like that, as long as the song is good.

アルバムが発売されない原因のひとつです。
TOSHIから見たら、アルバム発売してワールドツアーをやっても、ライブ会場では楽曲のキーを下げて歌うしかないんです。
・YOSHIKIはアメリカのエージェントと海外のマネジメント契約(海外路線)
・TOSHIは全盛期のハイトーンがもう出ないので、国内中心の活動がしたい。
