Vinegar in laundry works very well, but if you use it regularly, it will ruin anything that is made of rubber or rubber-like material in your machine, including seals. Sadly, I would never recommend anyone use vinegar very often in the wash. Love the frozen grapes idea.

I've use a 1/4 vingar rinse or citric acid in my laundry rinse for decades. My last washer laster 23+ years.
Lemons today in Australia are very expensive.
vinegar works as well, just a mild acid.
Don't use wooden cutting boards bacteria gets into the cuts. Cleaning takes to long.
