  • This video describes what QC is, why it is used in the clinical laboratory, and what to do when it is out of control or out of range. Viewers will learn how to calculate the mean, 1 standard deviation (SD), and the 3 standard deviation (SD) range for each level of QC. Once these items are calculated, the viewer will then learn how to plot the data points on a Levy-Jennings chart. Example QC situations are described along with how to remedy out of control QC.

Thank you for all your videos. Sometimes it’s hard to learn with textbook alone. This helps to makes sense in what I’m reading. My book does not go into detail on QC information. Thank you so much! 👏 My MLT Professors reference your videos often, especially since we have been stuck at home.
