'Self harm' certainly manifests in many ways. The visible and non visible scars can last a lifetime. Knowing friends who have pulled through to continue their lives and help others along the way.

    Very good!
The ego is the wood in the fire under the cauldron of all suffering and self-harm it seems to me.
    Thank you.

Great. We need more people like you around. Btw I almost died in the lake by that waterfall in Croatia. Then I came back to life and a whole new chapter began. That beginning of the video did hit quite sharp.

@@zenconfidential25 Thanks man! Life is short indeed, And I hope you are enjoying yourself in Vienna! I'd love to visit Europe sometime, and my brother actually lives in Slovakia with his wife at the moment.
I would be absolutely honored to meet you in person sometime, my friend, I feel like we have some interesting things in common and could get along very well, and I really don't ever say that to most people nor do I ever really feel that way about most people. But you are different, I can tell.
Anyways I hope we can remain in contact however possible, and I wish you a peaceful, happy day! Sukhi Hontu!

Maybe they are practicing a form of bodily decoration, similar to piercings and tattoos? Coming to terms with the keening within is an ongoing and never ending effort, I think. Sitting with it over the years has made the situation livable (um, literally). Your video echoes a Daily Zen Calendar quote I’ve been sitting with this past week : “There is a loneliness in us that hears. When the soul parts from the company of the ego and its retinue of petty conceits; when we cease to exploit all things but instead pray to the world’s cry, the world’s sigh, our loneliness may hear the living grace beyond all power.” ~Abraham Joshua Heschel

There is a difference between doing harm and feeling pain - a difference between killing and accepting death. A difference between resistance and acceptance.

in my experience its usually girls with absent fathers who do this... we do need people with daughters to stick around...

I forgot to mention in the video that it was all women or young girls who were doing this that I saw, to your point.

When i was younger and my mental illness was untreated, i used to burn myself alot. Ive long since stopped, but i had two girlfriends that would cut. And they cut a lot. Myself and the two girls i had dated were all abused as kids. I think its an outer expression of trauma. But i dont know much...😢

There is a popular new trend of tattooing in Europe that can look like little cuts or slashes dunno if it’s that though? Sounds disturbing nonetheless

    • @zenconfidential25

I wonder if that's it?? These are like lines, slashes that look like marks in an old financial ledger or something. No ink or anything, just scars. Anyway, thank you
