      Hey I actually got one of these myself to try and it couldnt connect to my network wired. Support replaced it, apparently was defective, but I got the replacement and same issue as well. I searched online and seem to be a common issue and my thread in HA is also finding others with similar issues.
      Did you have any such problems?

      If you want to use the slzb-06 for both zigbee and thread over matter, do you have to buy two? Or is it able to do both on one device at the same time?

    I'm looking to get a network connected coordinator because I am running Home Assistant in a High Availability configuration in Proxmox, and USB passthrough can't follow the HA VM when it migrates to another node in the cluster. SLZB-06M or SLZB-06 would be fantastic!

      Hi. I am currently using VM on Unraid, but I am very interested in creating a cluster in case my server fails (my wife will kill me when everything suddenly stops working), do you have any description on how to configure high availability HA. I read that I need at least three servers with Proxmox for this, but I don't fully understand how to configure the rest and what may be the differences between the servers' hardware, e.g.: one more powerful server and two "small" economical computers only for HA and maybe pfSense?
      Maybe @BeardedTinker could make a video about this? #SMLIGHT06

      @@januszwojciechowski2292 I haven't used Proxmox in years (probably 3-4 if not more). I have Cluster on Synology (also currently down) with HA set in High Availability. While 3 servers would be good and prefered for cluster, you can do it with just 2. Would need a bit of tinkering to try everything with Proxmox.

    • @paul454
      @paul454 8 месяцев назад

      @@januszwojciechowski2292 I bought 3 Intel NUCs off eBay to start with. Once Proxmox is installed on each, it's very simple to set up a cluster, and then again to set up HA. There are many videos on RUclips explaining how to do it, but should take no more than 5 or 10 minutes once you have Proxmox installed. The question you should ask before you start is whether you want to use Ceph, or ZFS with replication... Not knowing any better when I set mine up, I used ZFS with replication (which works fine), but if I could go back in time, I'd have chosen Ceph, which appears pretty simple to set up.

      No and yes. We are now in personal opinion category. They are very similar. I prefer maybe the size of UZG-01 (or box) over this long stick, but it's very personal preference. Also, UZG-01 latest versions are with CC2652p7 SOC and if I would go myself, for now I would prefer CC2652P or EFR32MG over it. Software is almost the same. As SLZB-06p7 = UZG-01 - it's down to personal preference there, but I would personally go for SLZB-06 or 06M over p7

    Great video as always.
    I bought a couple of SLZB-06M a month or so ago to get my Z2MQTT network up & running. I set one up as coordinator & one as a router. I really can’t fault them. The UI is simple to understand & set them up with. I was absolutely ecstatic when they received full Z2MQTT support in the last update.
    Winning one of the #SMLIGHT06 would be perfect as we’re putting in a garden studio this summer which is about 100m away from the house but will have an Ethernet connection. It’s the perfect solution to the problem of remote areas being controlled from within the same, single network ( although I’ll need to really look into how to do that when the time comes).
    Thanks again for your very well presented, informative & easy to understand videos. They have proved invaluable to me in setting things up, especially as a very new member of the zig bee community. 👍

      There is (at least was) workaround for HA OS. You just add another instance of repo, changing the address:
      For example, first one you add it is:
      github.com/zigbee2mqtt/hassio-zigbee2mqtt
      Second one you ad in repository list is
      github.com/zigbee2mqtt/hassio-zigbee2mqtt/
      (notice trailing /).
      It will create second install link and if you install from that one, it will create additional instance of HA.

      It can take a bit of time for RSSI to populate, probably not longer than few hours. But as you said, if devices are working, you are good. You could try to make a ZHA device map, as it may force devices to update, but again, that shouldn't be problem.

    Getting the #SMLIGHT06 would be good for letting me play around with Matter over Thread! Most of my smart home devices currently are Zigbee, paired to a Sonoff CC2652 based stick running via ZHA. It works well for what I've got right now, but it does preclude me from running multiprotocol stuff. Having a second coordinator would give me the flexibility to dedicate some hardware towards experimenting without disrupting my primary network.

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  8 месяцев назад

      Nice, but please note - HA will (but that may change) probably pull out from multi-protocol support. There are some issues with external components they are suing for this to work. Vendor for that part is unable or very slow with fixing bugs, and it all falls down on HA devs for not fixing bugs there. If they cancel multi-protocol support, it will be less stress for them but also for users.

    Great video as usual - I'm curious if there's benefit in migrating my Zigbee network from the SONOFF Dongle to one of these. Any thoughts on the network size performance with these? I have around 83 devices now (about 25 of them are routers) but I'm trying to move as much smart home stuff as possible over to zigbee, so this number will easily surpass 100 in the next few weeks.
    Also, would love the #SMLIGHT03 if I end up getting it. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago, and it died in the first few hours. basically I tried to update firmware using the SMLIGHT Web Flasher, it went to couldn't initialize and since then, has been dead. No power source brings it to life, the PC doesn't detect it at all. I've been going back and forth with SMLight support but without any result so far - they seem to be as stumped as I. So, before writing them off completely for the WLED controller, I'd love to give it another try!

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  8 месяцев назад

      Depends on what Dongle from Sonoff you have. If it's P version, that's "same" as SLZB-06 - with 06 been better as it can do WiFi/Ethernet/USB + as of yesterdy Matter over Thread.
      If it's Dongle E, that's similar to SLZB-06M - again, same thing applies as to connectivity. Other problem is Firmware, I presume that you've flashed it with alternative firmware as Sonoff ones are limited in terms of devices. Both 06 and 06M can handle over 100 - I think it's 200/300 devices. - 100 direct and 100 more via them.
      As for your bad experience with 03 WLED, sorry to hear it. Mine is stil working after some cca 60 days. Hope they manage to fix it for you.
