You said it’s not supposed to be a thing, it’s just a reboot. But that’s what they wanted you to think. Everyone since day 1 thought about the two movies somewhat existing in the same world. Why not, we never thought we see all Karate Kid rivals unite, we never expected Miyagi to be a killer or theft but here we are. You can’t expect the unexpected even when the actors themselves say one thing. Same thing happened with Spider-Man, we never thought we see all three live action Pete’s in the same movie/world/universe. Heck even all DreamWorks movies take place in one timeline then other worlds or universes. It’s not supposed to make sense or be canon in any shape or form. 😂
Same here. When they said that there was a Karate Kid movie, I was like oh its going to me a spinoff from the original 3, but watching this its whole difrent story
I CANNOT WAIT for this! I wasn’t around in the 80s, but, during quarantine, my Brother-In-Law (who practically my brother) showed me these movies. I LOVED them, and then I got hooked to Cobra Kai. My first Karate Kid movie was the one with Jaden Smith, I liked it, but, after watching it after watching the original movies, I LOVE those more. So, everyone who was born in the 80s gets to see Ralph Macchio on the big screen again!
About the 2010 reboot not being able to be tied to Karate Kid 1-4, I would argue the chopsticks is no different than the callbacks they do in Cobra Kai. Like the beach scene with Miguel, Robby and Sam for example. Or how Miguel/Johnny & Daniel/Robby repeat the same beats season 1 as Myagi in Karate Kid Also, Han did say “I did not come for Sensei Myagi. I came for you” so maybe he heard about Daniel being a prodigy as a kid & then running a top dojo. It might not be Han directly knew Myagi.
or Han family knew Mr Miyagi since the Miyagi from Karate Kid is based of the Miyagi from real life (yes a martial arts master called Miyagi did exist) and that one learnt Kung Fu in China
I mean there's been a lot of additions with Miyagi's character from Cobra Kai. The whole point of Daniel's arc in this season of Cobra Kai is Daniel didn't know everything about Miyagi. Maybe Mr. Han knew Miyagi at the Sekai Taikai? All I know is Ralph Macchio signed off on it which means he must really believe in this movie.
The director of this movie loves Cobra Kai and talked to the creators about every step of the movie. So they were involved in some shape or form and nearly every idea that they help create, is in the movie Which makes sense cuz rumors were saying that the creators had a hand in writing Ralph for this movie Also the connection between Han and Daniel, ties back to the old Karate Kid movies lore
So far it looks good enough that I want to at least rent it. By the way, I love Jackie Chan but I always wished they titled his movie as Kung Fu Kid. Because it was kungfu that his character taught Jayden's character. I watched that movie once.
Why does it not make sense? Mr. Miyagi fell asleep on the boat from strong sake and ended up in China where he learned martial arts. Jackie Chan and the late great Pat Morita's age difference isn't that far off
@@jaybling6687You know what? Of course you are right! I'm watching the KK2 as I write this. I heard the story and thought. . Oops, I'm going back to delete my comment I hope someone who knew better doesn't see my ignorance.. Lol 😮 I stand corrected.
Looks like Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 won't be setting up this after all. Daniel looks a lot older than he was in Cobra Kai and if the end of Cobra Kai sets this up, Daniel would have received a call from Mr. Han telling him to go to Beijing but it's the other way around.
A lot of Okinawans did interact with a lot of Chinese masters in the early days of Karate. Miyagi Chojun, the REAL Miyagi, was said to travel to Fuzhou. Another one is Uechi Kanbun who supposedly had to close his school in China after an accident, only reopening one in Okinawa at a friend's insistence years later. And you could go down the line, Ryuei Ryu, Shito Ryu...Alos, note, in Karate Kid (2, I believe) Mr Miyagi says that the ancestral Miyagi washed up drunk on the shores of China, saved a Chinese master's daughter, got the honor to learn from him and brought home a wife. Again, the real life counterpart of this tale is the Thirty Six Families of Kume Village who wuold marry and teach select people from Okinawan society. ruclips.net/video/2iNcTGoZMMY/видео.html
Go in pretending that this is the first time we see an adult Daniel Larusso. I’m going in thinking that this is Daniel from a different universe. But it does look like it would be worth seeing.
I feel like Shimpo Miyagi would be the easy way for them to explain Han being aware of Mr. Miyagi. They'd could use that storyline to write them into being distant relatives.
In KK2, Miyagi said that Miyagi-Do Karate originated from Chinese Kung-Fu. And Mr. Han's Kung-fu has the same principles as Miyagi-Do so plot wise it makes perfect sense for Miyagi to know Han bc it looks like Han studies the style of Kung-fu that Miyagi-Do came from
It looks awesome! Great channel by the way Cobra Kai Kid! Either there is a connection through martial lineage or the past Sekai Taikai. Anyway I’m sure it’s going to be great!
5:45 He doesn't have to know Mr. Miyagi. He clearly doesn't know either of them. It's just a trailer though. But I'm excited because it's something after Cobra Kai. It sucks that Cobra Kai is ending.. I'm telling you if Cobra Kai didn't end it could possibly even surpass the Simpsons in terms of number of seasons. It is just amazing. But there's also considerations for the actors and where they to go with their careers, etc.
When it comes to Johnny participation , you have to understand that this is about Legends , as the name says in the title , and Daniel is a bigger legend than Johnny , and the Cobra Kai series belongs more to Johnny than to Daniel , and this series will end soon , so well
Drew, my sweet baby boy (I could be your mom) 🥰😝 Breath! I'm curious about the dialog when Daniel said: "Two Branches, One Tree"... Karate & Kung Fu (combining both disciplines). The tag said: "When Families Unite, A New Legacy Begins". Trilogy? Hum, I'm going to watch the movie, because I think we're all in for a good surprise... 😍❤🥷
They might be trying to start a new movie series where every Karate Kid film from this point forward is a different story featuring different characters from the entire story line. The next one could be about Johnny and Chozen. The one after that could be one based on any of the kids.
Martin Kove let slip in an interview that he hasn't spoken to Ralph Macchio about the new movie yet, but that RM left the set of CK for 10 days to film, which is fairly short for a big tentpole film, so guessing he won't be in the movie much. FWIW: Rob Mark Kamen is a Goju Ryu student with a direct lineage to Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Goju Ryu & the basis for Miyagi-Do & Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid franchise. The first & second films clearly establish martial arts were brought to Okinawa by Shimpo Miyagi after a decade spent training Kung Fun in China, Mr Miyagi even mentions Karate was originally called 'Te' in Okinawa; Karate was the term adopted after Japanese colonisation, the Kanji meant Chinese Hand or Tang Hand, same as the Korean meaning for Tang Soo Do, the basis for Cobra Kai. That's where the connection between Mr Miyagi & Mr Han will stem from, art imitating life, which is fantastic storytelling. Rob Mark Kamen knew what he was doing.
I have a feeling that li fong is an estranged son of sensei wolf.look at his fighting style.it's similar to sensei wolf. And the gi is that of iron dragon's in the poster.
Han and his bro Miyagi split and had the exact same events happen both in China and California. Han developed his jacket-off style and Miyagi his ultimate jumping crane kick, that's all. Now they are combined, the ultimate technique of the Jumping Jack will be unleashed.
I'm so excited for this! The trailer has me hyped! It looks to me like Aramis Knight plays the bully, but I hope that his character gets more depth. What really stuck out to me is that the main female character in this is disabled. I'm excited for the representation.
From What i read there is a clue in the original Karate Kid movie how Mr Han new Miyagi i just watched Karate Kid cant find the clue. This was from the Director in the EW article from yesterday with cast and crew interviews. They also said This movie is connected to the original movies The Jayden Smith movie and Cobra Kai so there not different universes as originally thought. Ralph wouldn't sign on unless he had creative input.
There is no point in trying to connect the dots, the 2010 movie was never part of the universe, and then it was, simple as that, it was retconned to conveniently connect it to the karate kid saga
But Mr Han knowing Mr Miyagi does make sense tho, since the person that Miyagi is inspired from (which was also called Miyagi) did learn Kung Fu in China
The trailer it self was better than expected, I'll give it that. But this STILL feels so manipulative and forced (because we know it is) We KNOW these universe's were never meant to co-exist. I don't think it'll ever feel truly ORGANIC, that's my point. The 2010 film was the EXACT same movie, so it really feels weird. And also, Robby mentioning Jackie Chan in Season 1 of Cobra Kai makes it even more weird, lol. It's just so damn bizzar, haha. But let's see how it turns out! Just so frustrated, that COBRA KAI hasn't even finished yet and they're already promoting this film, which isn't coming out until 6 months from now. All focus should be on PART 3 of Season 6, as I see it.
Yeah, man, I'm hoping it is a great movie, but knowing Sony, this is just gonna be another cash grab, and Sony just cares about 💰 and not the movie or story.
Yeah I agree. That's how I feel as well, I feel like those movies were never meant to co-exist with each other either. Cobra Kai was meant to be the continuation, and I know that that's what this movie is meant to be as well but just feels out of place in this universe. It's hard to believe that this movie and the Karate Kid 2010 movie exist in the same universe when we literally have Jackie Chan playing Mr. Han. I mean the trailer does look promising & I will watch this movie with an open mind, and I may like it, but we'll have to wait and see if it belongs in this Universe. This probably won't make sense because I know that they are connecting this movie to Cobra Kai but for me I'm choosing to look at this movie as its own movie that only apart of the Karate Kid 2010 continuation and kind of mentally disconnecting it from Cobra Kai because right now it doesn't feel like it belongs in the Cobra Kai Universe and belongs more in the Karate Kid 2010 universe more. Do you know what I mean?
@@melissapas8474 Sure 🤗 I’ll give it a chance too, but still it’s clear to me, that this simply can’t feel fully organic. Still, the movie might surprise in its own way.
Or how Miguel/Johnny & Daniel/Robby repeat the same beats season 1 as Myagi in Karate Kid
Also, Han did say “I did not come for Sensei Myagi.
Ben Wang looks legit. Also Jackie Chan in a Hollywood film after what feels like ages, I'm sold. Even if it somehow disrespects Cobra Kai.
So they were involved in some shape or form and nearly every idea that they help create, is in the movie
Which makes sense cuz rumors were saying that the creators had a hand in writing Ralph for this movie
Also the connection between Han and Daniel, ties back to the old Karate Kid movies lore
The glazing is hardcore on this channel bro
On bro glazing Ralph 😂

So far it looks good enough that I want to at least rent it.
By the way, I love Jackie Chan but I always wished they titled his movie as Kung Fu Kid. Because it was kungfu that his character taught Jayden's character. I watched that movie once.
Why does it not make sense? Mr. Miyagi fell asleep on the boat from strong sake and ended up in China where he learned martial arts. Jackie Chan and the late great Pat Morita's age difference isn't that far off
You’re confusing Mr. Miyagi with Shimpo Sensei. Miyagi and Han probably don’t know each other personally, but their families have history.
@@jaybling6687You know what? Of course you are right! I'm watching the KK2 as I write this. I heard the story and thought. . Oops, I'm going back to delete my comment I hope someone who knew better doesn't see my ignorance.. Lol 😮 I stand corrected.
Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 needs to set this up
Looks like Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 won't be setting up this after all.

Go in pretending that this is the first time we see an adult Daniel Larusso. I’m going in thinking that this is Daniel from a different universe. But it does look like it would be worth seeing.
It takes place 3 years after cobra Kai
Jackie Chan was already mentioned by robby in season one
Head canon or Han Canon?
@
Head cannon
But that universe where Mr Han is in was never canon to cobra kai
I feel like Shimpo Miyagi would be the easy way for them to explain Han being aware of Mr. Miyagi. They'd could use that storyline to write them into being distant relatives.
Everybody notches this scene 2:56
In KK2, Miyagi said that Miyagi-Do Karate originated from Chinese Kung-Fu. And Mr. Han's Kung-fu has the same principles as Miyagi-Do so plot wise it makes perfect sense for Miyagi to know Han bc it looks like Han studies the style of Kung-fu that Miyagi-Do came from
I have autism too! It's so nice for someone to raise awareness about our condition. Sending hugs! ❤️🫶🏻
Yeah I was skeptical about this movie too, but I'm definitely going to see it.
So it takes place 2-3 years after Cobra Kai?
What are you gonna do once Cobra Kai and the Karate Kid franchise ends?
honestly I really loved the reboot with jackie chan growing up! Im so pumped for this!
When it comes to Johnny participation , you have to understand that this is about Legends , as the name says in the title , and Daniel is a bigger legend than Johnny , and the Cobra Kai series belongs more to Johnny than to Daniel , and this series will end soon , so well
I hope this movie doesn't ruin the plot for season 6, part 3 plot.
I don’t think it will, this is set 3 years after.
It can be watched as a stand alone movie.
It’s based off 3 years after the show ends
It takes place 3 years after cobra Kai meaning the cobra Kai kid legacy lives on!!!
Your reaction is everything 😭😅
A lot can happen in 10 days
I have a feeling that li fong is an estranged son of sensei wolf.look at his fighting style.it's similar to sensei wolf.
And the gi is that of iron dragon's in the poster.
Coming out on my birthday! What a treat!
It does say “When FAMILIES unite, a new legacy is born” … 🤷🏻♀️
Sweet home Alabama
Han and his bro Miyagi split and had the exact same events happen both in China and California. Han developed his jacket-off style and Miyagi his ultimate jumping crane kick, that's all. Now they are combined, the ultimate technique of the Jumping Jack will be unleashed.
This looks incredible!!!
I'm so excited for this! The trailer has me hyped! It looks to me like Aramis Knight plays the bully, but I hope that his character gets more depth. What really stuck out to me is that the main female character in this is disabled. I'm excited for the representation.
The movie looks exciting! Love the Karate Kid franchise! Love Jackie Chan! Can't wait! 😁
Bro is glazing mr miyagi in another movie😭💀
I want to see this more then every Marvel movie coming next year!
I loved the Jaden Smith Karate Kid movie, so i'm happy to see Jackie Chan back,
Ralph Macchio is 62 and still looks great!
He was supposed to be in the movie, imagine not wanting him to know miyagi, it is a thing
The Kung Fu Kid !
Is the correct title of the old reboot and this movie !
OSU 🙏🥋👊
From What i read there is a clue in the original Karate Kid movie how Mr Han new Miyagi i just watched Karate Kid cant find the clue. This was from the Director in the EW article from yesterday with cast and crew interviews. They also said This movie is connected to the original movies The Jayden Smith movie and Cobra Kai so there not different universes as originally thought. Ralph wouldn't sign on unless he had creative input.
Jackie finna do craziest things
Beautiful. Trailer was great
This trailer was amazing!! I’m ready for this movie
Johhny: "Where the hell have you been?"
I just can’t get over the fact, that they’re forcing the universe’s together for money. And mostly, because Cobra Kai ain’t finished yet, it’s very hard to adapt to this right now 🤷♂️
@ChristianKrogh-Denmark exactly man and they should have done it in 2026 in my opinion instead of 2025
@@garrettlambert3357 I agree 👍 But of course Sony doesn’t care. They just wanna ride on the wave of Cobra Kai, while it’s still relevant.
Daniel hair looks better here then cobra kai 😂
The karate kid poster beside you with mr miyagi (Daniel with the crane kick pose on the stump) i have a framed one with pat Moritas signature. I need to get Ralph's now. I do have a cobra kai one signed by Ralph and William though. Both framed and right behind my head until the special room is done. It will be sports, movies and musicians
I always hear 5 years after cobra kai.
They filmed most of this before they started filming cobra kai 6
I've heard Amanda is supposed to be in it - but I haven't seen her in the credits
I may ignore Cobra Kai when watching this like you, but that depends on how Cobra Kai ends.
Takes place 3 years after cobra Kai
Li Fong Karatê + Kung Fu = 🔥💯
Bro what do you mean "they showed a lot of daniel"
He's literally going to be a huge part of the plot. You're acting like he's only supposed to be a cameo or something
The fight scenes look really good.
Mr han referd to migyi as sensi mygi maby mygi trained mr han will have to wait and see i think it will b better then expected
Me personally I wanna know what happens in that 3 year gap after cobra Kai season 6 but I’ll have to wait for ever to see that and I feel that just makes the movie incomplete because I don’t how we even got to this chapter/part of karate kid
1:31: Hands Down This New Karate Kid is Stright Up built Diffrently Next Lvl And am Loving it Already.😏🤌🔥
Is this this Mr. Han the same version from 2010?
yes
Regardless I'm exicted for this movie and I trust that they are going to be able to connect cobra Kai to this movie flawlessly
6.34, mr han knew jackie chan 😂😂😂😂 that aside, im skeptical too about this film, how it all links in with the original films and cobra kai, wonder if there will be any set up for it in cobra kai s6 part 3
Give it a chance cobra Kai kid it will make sense Mr Han know Mr miyagi
The thumbnail of his face 😂
He went to find home because the one the sekai taki 🤔
Danial glazes Mr Miyagi and Cobra Kai kid glazes Daniak 7:15
The new karate kid (Li) looks really cool
I've noticed Mr han was looking for Daniel larussio❤❤❤
Don’t worry Drew. You may never know what’ll happen in the film either canon or not
I can’t wait to see Ben Wang in action
Dude you can relate to the story it happens every where some kid got bully, and tournament everyone into karate or martials arts see it , so theres a point or they will tell , its like here in Dominican Republic there was a time of judo and taekwondo and everyone knew the champs José Vicbart Geraldino Rosello Judo champ, and everyone know Gracie jiujitsu famaly so its like that , keep having fun everyone enjoy your video
