  • In this video I demonstrate how I use an inexpensive air pump to remove the lid off a Jobo Expert Drum. I also explain loading sheet film into the drum.

Have you considered drilling the hole in your rubber stopper to fit tightly onto the outlet of your pump? That would allow you to more easily hold the pump against the bung opening, because it eliminates the hose altogether. If tight enough it would not need to be barbed, especially because you would be pushing it into the tank opening which holds it all together. Great video, thank you for taking the time to inform folks, ultimately supporting the film revival.

Andrew, that's a great idea! I'll have to try that. Thanks for watching! Tony

Good to know. The JOBO foot-pumps wear out.

Pressurizing the tank when empty can severely damage the tank, and may cause the lid to fly off.
Following the Jobo instructions is best.

I agree. However, Las Vegas is currently in a drought and this is the most environmentally friendly way that I can accomplish the lid removal. Thanks for watching. Tony

@@tonysantophotography Jobo sells a pump to do what you are demonstrating, so I don't think this is a real concern.
