Shooting low left is the bane of every shooter's existence. Lots of reasons why. Sometimes you just have bad days at the range. Having the red dot makes it alot easier to see if its you, or the ammo you're shooting - as Paul Harrel has demonstrated different ammo brands print in different places. Either way I'd like to get my hands on this to see how comfortable it is, to say it is as comfortable as a P99 is a tall order. Good stuff Graham.
Just an update on my experience w/ the Dusk 19 once I received it. Got somewhere in the neighborhood of 750rnds through it and didn’t have any light primers or failures of any kind except one failure to feed with a ProMag. I ran all brass 115,124,&147 I like this way more than any Glock and can’t even call it a Glock I feel this is different enough to step out of that shadow. This was one of the first videos I watched doing research on it before buying one and wanted to say thanks for the video as I am very pleased with the purchase and how my performance experience matched similar to yours. The accuracy issues you had I can’t explain no troubles with it on my end but I also ran a red dot so well…ya know.
I got one of the first Dusk19s and there was an issue with the slide stop locking back when I didn't want it to. I changed it out for Vickers and it was fine after that. I also noticed some significant delamination when I inspected the striker/firing pin, so I replaced with an NP3 coated steel striker. I also think they went cheap on the connector; it appears to be a stamped -connector clone, but the edges were sharp and it wasn't polished at all. I replaced for my favorite Ghost connector. For the price this thing sold for they had to cut corners somewhere. Now that I worked out the bugs it runs great. I consistently outshoot guys with factory Glock/modded Glocks/Shadow Systems/Zev/etc for a very reasonable cost.
Love me some lone wolf ergonomics, definitely fits my hand better than most other glock frames. I just finished a zaffiri precision g23 build on an sct frame but the gen4 mags I bought are extremely tight even for glock mags. I must've purchased a bad lot.
This is why we do the multi-mag test. It seems not all "Glock compatible" stuff is always compatible with other "Glock compatible" stuff; stacking tolerances.
Thank you for the range review. As I mentioned on my reply on your table top video. I am certainly considering this Glock but not a Glock. I like that this is a more practical alternative to a G 19. Don’t much care for Glock but I think I might try this out if for nothing else than a collection piece. I like American made products and feel they should be supported.
On their website it appears they offer a base model version of this w/o the lower 1/3 height sights?...Ameriglo sights. Thanks for the thorough review as always. Interesting pistol
the malfunction could be from having huge hands and some soft tissue is riding the slide preventing or delaying it from going into battery. Our unit had issues when we transitioned from the M9 to the Sig platform. Smaller gun....large man-hands!
@JackofNothingess I planned on getting some missed reviews filmed this weekend, but my minor procedure yesterday turned out to be a full-on operation. My absence is mostly medically related and mental health. Thank you for your kind words
I picked up the same gun and I really like it as well. However I do Prefer the bigger blackstrap that should have come with the gun. I have had no failures after a about 200-300 rounds out of the box.
@@whatsup24_7 Thank you. As a simple way to maintain that channel, and in response to request we upload more behind-the-scenes type stuff there for now.
Unfortunately it's not something you can see in labeling, and don't let anyone try to convince you that projectile weight has anything to do with it. (we hear comments like that A LOT). I believe it has more to do with the peak pressure of the ammunition, when that peak is hit, and the duration of that pressure. That all comes down to the specific recipe of powder type and amount combined with the projectile weight. To rephrase: Two loads claiming the same velocity and projectile weight can and often do feel different. It's just something you have to try and experience for yourself. We shoot A LOT of different loads (typically 11 or 12 per handgun review, times about 300 handgun reviews) and so have been able to discern between one load and the next. If you're looking for something that shoots softer watch our What's For Dinner segments and take note of which ones we say are softer-shooting.
One sort-of easy way to judge is muzzle energy, the lower the energy the less felt recoil (in general). The Federal Action Pistol load is usually pretty soft, and we've begun charting out common range loads (latest update here www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/is-blazer-9mm-any-good). Keep in mind though that less energy also means there's less to run the gun, if a gun has a strong spring, is very dirty, or if your shooting form isn't the best weaker ammo is more likely to cause malfunctions.
Thanks for your second reply, just wanted to say been watching your videos for a long time and I believe this is the first time I asked a question so just to let you know you went beyond and above to answer my question. Thank you
Lone Wolf has a thinner grip offering, and I was wondering if this comes with that. Could you tell any difference? Edit: based on the texture I'm thinking it's a different frame
To clarify, there's nothing wrong with a Gen 5 that I know of, but there are several other options I'd choose first for ergonomics, shooting experience, etc.
Graham, you seem to like this gun a lot, but you have had better accuracy with other recent guns. You like the ergonomics as well. Personally I wouldn’t consider this because I trust your accuracy skills and this gun just didn’t deliver.
That's a valid conclusion, but I think I'd rather train to get better with a handgun that was comfortable than be a marksman with a pistol that's no fun to shoot. It'll be interesting to get Teya's take on this once she's ready to hit the range again.
Despite my pedigree of training I don't always have a great day at the range. As a journalist, however I refuse to refilm to make osmething look better. No "highlight reels", just the reality of what happened that day.
Really ? I have a few Glocks not one has jamed like the dust 19 did for you. Maybe the Gen 6 Glock will have more add on's you like more? I still enjoy your view but i am a old ex cop and judge i still really like the old 6 shooters too.

Might need a different barrel.
Never keep a gun on your nightstand bedside. You run a risk of waking up to someone standing over you WITH YOUR GUN that you supplied them with.
I think most people understand that a "bedside gun" is not left in the open.
