They are the same as a em pinball machine basically and are easy to fix, contact relays and solinnoids, I worked on them when I was a kid but not on the bingo ones but I got to play one because my friends dad that worked with the mafia had a couple wood rails in the basement! The bingo ones do look pretty complicated though!
I have this same Bingo. My machines has many problems. Too many to list. I am retired now and have started to clean and fix what is obvious. For 1954 technology it sure is hard to troubleshoot.
Hello. I have this machine and attempting to restore. Most of the way complete but have several basic questions. Please reply if you can help.... Thank you,
Unfortunately I sold all my bingos and regret that decision to this day..... ) : I had a hard time getting people to play them and wanted room for other machines.
Are those telephone relays clicking to turn on and off the lights? Is this all made with relays used as logic gates, etc? I have no idea wtf is going on with how to play this game.
Thanks for the question. The relays you hear are primarily the score motor which is a horizontal rod with various cams on it that continuously spins while closing and opening switches that rest on the cams. Think of the score motor as a the microprocessor, the command center of the whole machine. On this particular machine i believe there is only one score motor, on Silver Sails, there are 3... As the score motor rotates, it checks to see what switches are closed and it also closes and opens relays based upon the particular situation the game is in such as a ball in the hole or the score variables. It is extremely complicated and super cool at the same time. The bulbs are flashing because they are flasher bulbs which are internally designed to flash.
would you know where i could buy a working unit? i used to play this for a nickel at our local bowling alley when i was growing up and would dearly like to see if i can find one. so far no luck can you help me ?
They would hate me with a nickel on a string or quarter, I could play for free until I hit a big one, they didn't have the string cutters back then but those were defeated with the chain later when they did!!!
I Loved Playing ,Many Pinball Machines ,Like This Variety , in The 1950's ! Thank you ! Great to SEE Beauty Again !
Very nice bingo machine. Wished that you still find them in public.
