    I’m 38. Never got into KISS until my 4 year old started playing their songs
    via Alexa at our house. Now we are both fans & Christmas morning I surprised him with concert tickets for both of us to see them in March 2020. Many friends and family told me a 5 year old is too young but he is into explosions, lasers, and most importantly Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons lol. We’re going and we’re stoked! Long live KISS

I spent 1/2 the show watching and filming my kids having a blast, their first true life concert!! I will take them again if I have the chance to - like we may go on vacation in France spring 2020, and I saw KISS will be touring in Europe at the same time ;-) ;-)

I wasn't able to make it due to prices in tickets & my goddaughters 1st bday. I was raised on KISS more than any other band. I was supposed to go with her tonight. Work, adulthood (even tho i'm 19) has unfortunately stopped me. Play hard for my momma, and me. Thank you for showing her the night of her life. Thank you Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley for making her childhood & adulthood amazing❤️ (& of course all the other artists who joined KISS to make it who they are today). Tommy Thayer: “Hey guys, go buy my signature Epiphone “white lighting” LP, so you can have one that’s exactly like the one I am using”
    During tours: uses a Gibson*

    • @zachblackwell4365
      @zachblackwell4365 5 лет назад +15

      The whole point is to make a guitar available that's similar to one he uses while being cost effective. That guitar he's using on stage? Thousands of dollars. Not many of his fans could afford that. Guitarists have been doing this forever.

    • @evankeal
      @evankeal 5 лет назад +3

      More often than not, guitarists use the prototype of their signatures, so you likely couldnt buy this Gibson either, but instead a model made after they figured out the assembly method and materials for the production version.
      But I understand your point if he did imply or state the Epiphone was "exactly" like his Gibson.
      Epiphones are far from crap however as some state.

      Beth is a curious song because it's one of Kiss's biggest hits. It's a song that Paul can't stand and that's outlined in his book by the way he ignored it's success. I'm really surprised to see it in this show, maybe it's a final dig at Peter because we know he's not going to like seeing this. Beth is Peters song, it broke Kiss into mainstream middle America and the rest is history. Gene and Paul owe a ton to Ace and Peter yet they seem to want to back stab them over and over. I'm thinking Paul is the real demon and control freak of Kiss. As Paul said in his book Kiss is HIS band.

    • @steenowens1518
      @steenowens1518 5 лет назад +5

      On the other hand, they could have left it off the playlist as far as I'm concerned. It was a crappy song then, and remains crappy today. No place in the band's catalog, except that it was popular with a segment of the audience. If that is a good enough reason to include it, then fine. They could have had Barry Manilow stroll on and do a lounge version for all I would care. So I guess I'm with Paul S on this one.

  • @thedesertdweller
    @thedesertdweller 5 лет назад +24

    The hate is 95% unwarranted, they sound great here and so what if there are backing tapes, I would bet the vast majority of arena shows have some backing tapes; it's the nature of reality where every single show is being recorded by hundreds of people. No artist wants to let their fans down or get caught up in defending the fact that they're human and imperfect which is what they risk every single night in today's world where all of us have an HD recorder in our pockets.
    As to Paul specifically, the brutality on the net is cruel; the man was one of the best rock singers on Earth for 30 years and a thoughtful role model considering his level of fame in our culture. It's not as if he is some kind of fake fraud. He's simply going down the path we all will go down as we age. Heck, most 70 year old people I know couldn't come close to doing anything this physical for one night not to mention a global tour.
    I would much rather appreciate his contributions to hard rock and enjoy WHAT IS available rather than have him deprive millions of people from enjoying this final tour.
    He's a human being and as a matter of principle, we don't throw people in the garbage or bully them mercilessly just because they are getting older and are in the final major chapter of their performing life. All of you bullies should be ashamed at how cruel and underdeveloped you are as human beings, I feel sorry for your kids and spouses, you must be a real joy to hang out with...

    • @superbug1977
      @superbug1977 5 лет назад +1

      My kids understand that I loved KISS and now choose to not only boycott them, but to publicly comment on their notoriety as frauds. I never yell or anything. I just explain the difference between music and fraud. Again, I say as quietly as I can, on line, that this is abject fraud. Also, if you truly believe that Paul Stanley was ever "was one of the best rock singers on earth," well.....that is as much a matter of taste as it is patently ridiculous. And I am a joy to hang out with. At least my kids think so.

    As a lifelong KISS fan, it sucks that they're gonna go out like this. I'm the farthest thing from a "hater". Which is a word that people who love the spectacle more than the music use. This is just the final nail in the coffin, to emphasize they're not doing this for the fans that were with them from the beginning, only those who love the Circus more. IF their fan rhetoric was so important to them, then they would forget all the dumb shit for this last time, & bring back Ace&Peter(although I dont think Peter is able to)& do it right. However....not gonna happen, but this is sad to watch. I'll sit this out watch it on RUclips & at least be Thankful for the times I did get to see them. Will always be a KISS fan, however to me it seems that Paul and Eric are having a good time, Gene seems to be a little blase for some reason ( I realize his mom has died recently and that has to be weighing on him )and Tommy seems to be stiff ( being methodical/mechanical on how he moves ) he needs to loosen up. The sound/tone seems a little off to me but it takes the first few shows to work the kinks out of any concert tour. True Paul's voice is not what it used to be , just remember why his voice is that way now and he is not the only frontman that blew his voice for us fans. I myself have not been able to sing "high tenor" for over 20 years now and I'm 54. Although I had hoped they would have brought the turret from Creatures Of The Night back on the stage, I like tanks. I am waiting for my turn at The Toyota Center in Houston Texas. All in all a good a good concert for what I saw here. Thanks for posting

      You hear almost none of Paul's voice in this. Not sure why they bothered having Tommy sing to a track

    Despite all the nay saying I've heard surrounding this tour etc., it looked and sounded pretty fucking good to me! Started off thinking I'd watch for a few songs and ended up watching the whole thing. After seeing this, I think I'll snag a ticket and catch this one live too.

    I've watched this entire thing twice already, and yeah the vocals get a little weird, if I try to pay TOO much attention to JUST that. But this is still a great show! I really don't care about the lineup anymore. (That's what the Reunion tour was for ) I wouldn't even realy care if the ENTIRE thing was pre-recorded. They don't have to prove anything to me anymore after 35 years! Again, this is still a great show!!

    Great footage. Im not bothering with this tour because of this lip synching business. Its cheating in my eyes. If you're not up to it don't bother. Lemmy didn't fake it when he was on his last legs. A rock n roll warrior til the end. Think i'll with my Kiss Alive record.

      I was there and it was awesome. I absolutely believe Paul was singing, and if he is singing along to a track, I'm good with it.
      Production was over the top, the did so much on Detroit Rock City that the explosions and fire got a little stale a few songs in. They did a finale basically every song.
      The mid section of the show was starting to get a bit dull for a 70s kiss fan like me and my family. Too many 80s and 90s tracks.
      The last part of the show was like the first, incredible. Best finale I've ever seen for Rock and Roll All Night. It was awesome.
      Overall a great show. Paul was incredible.
      Gene is just disgusting in general but he was Gene. I don't like this makeup either.
      Tommy was good, the guitar solo was kind of lame and he's very stiff on stage but he was good.
      Eric looks so bored all the time. His playing is fine but so boring to watch. Zero energy and stage presence.
      The stage was very cool, the discs were interesting, the horizontal pyro was a new one for me and pretty cool.
      The War Machine video was so cheesy buty kids thought it was ok.
      Paul flying over to us was great.
      Setlist was lacking Firehouse and Strutter. They could have skipped a couple songs and added those in IMO.
      Overall a fantastic night.

      Bryan B: Huge rip off! Gene and Paul, the lip-sync-frauds. Stage is lame! Back in 2017, Tourette-Stanley said that playback is a huge affront against the own fans - and now? Come on, what a senaky hypocrite, the Crowchild is done, same with Grandpa Munster.

      Here's the thing: either Paul is lip syncing REALLY badly and just could care less...or he's not. It's that simple. I do think it's entirely possible he sings WITH tapes occasionally, to help out with his vocals. That's somewhat understandable if so.
