Krystal Klear x The Paradise - Euphoric Love (Alcala Mashup)

In prehistoric internet times, unexpected, genre-crossing mashups could shock, surprise, and delight listeners. Today, that once mind-blowing power is gone having mostly evolved into meme-y novelties done for laughs.
But years ago, I made mashups, and my approach was a little different. Taking inspiration from 2manyDJs and DJ Falcon (not Girl Talk), I would use elements of well-known club songs and combine vocals or synths to make something slightly distinct but not jarring. Fusing the best parts from each track and fashioning them into something new.
MSHD is a compilation of ten mashups covering the indie, nu-disco, and house sounds I spun in many late 2000s sets. While the fad is pretty much dead now, I still want to give these tracks a proper send off as part of a greater cataloging of older work I'm releasing throughout this year. Even if we are now in a post mashup world, MSHD brings a little life back into the sound.
